The end of New Donk City was one of the most memorable video gaming sequences period.

These are some of the best games ever made, but Nintendo is completely bonkers. $50 would be reasonable. Guess I'll be waiting to grab a copy for $40 2nd-hand in 2027.

I'll likely sell my copy of 3D All Stars and grab this since I don't care much for 64 or Sunshine... I know, hot take.

If it's game key card vs. purely digital, I'll take the card as I can at least sell the game if I don't like it or don't want to keep it after playing. Just not going to pay anywhere near full price for these (same personal policy I have for digital).

Enjoying my time with Ni No Kuni 2. Pretty much a locked 60fps on S2, though the low resolution environments can be quite distracting. Would love to see a patch.

Don't mean to beat a dead horse, but I would've definitely bought more games if they were fully on cartridge. As it is, I'm waiting for deep-discounts to experience certain launch titles and/or buying the Switch 1 versions.

@larryisaman Exactly. I was totally banking on it upgrading older titles. Main selling point for me getting one at launch.

Still searching for a definitive answer, and thought someone here would be able to finally share: are Switch 2 Edition games fully on the cart (i.e. could it be played day one if you had no internet connection) or is the S2 patch a download and it's just the S1 game on a red cart? Thinking about selling my S1 copies and upgrading down the line, but won't if the upgrade is not on the cart. Thanks!

Have they confirmed a physical for this one?

@jowy_sw I'm hoping that the added horsepower will cause games that missed their framerates target on switch to automatically run smoother, without a patch.

This weekend I used dekudeals to find games on an all-time lowest sale, with a metacritic score of 75+, with a demo available. Found a few gems at rock bottom prices. Would be cool to have this kind of granular control in the eShop itself, but I don't see it happening. Dekudeals is the GOAT.

Since most 3rd party releases plummet in price a few months to a year after release, I may pick up key card releases at rock bottom prices to play some games I otherwise might not. I only keep my favorite games from each generation anyway, and those typically end up being Nintendo releases.

Wow. Went from really excited to replay this to probably never buying after seeing it was a key card release and is now missing features.

Just got one on Walmart. Waited in line on my computer for ages, then decided to try to pull it up on my phone. No line, clicked the preorder button and added to cart instantly. Might be worth a shot for those still waiting.

@ElkinFencer10 Yes, we're really getting to the point of diminishing returns in gaming as far as graphics are concerned. I'm so glad we're entering the era of higher framerates.

@Spider-Kev It is a bummer that they wouldn't put the BOTW DLC on the cart, but they aren't marketing it as "Deluxe" or "Ultimate" edition. They'll ream us on that in a couple of years.

Mostly curious about the contents of the physical Switch 2 editions. Do they contain a black Switch 1 cartridge with a download code for the upgrade, or is it a red Switch cartridge with the upgrade on the cart.

Has it been confirmed if these Switch 2 editions are a Switch 1 cart in a box with an upgrade code, or is it a red Switch 2 cart with the upgrade on the cart itself?

Wonder if we'll finally get a physical version of a FAST game. They are brilliant.

@Jack_Goetz That's the main issue I'm seeing initially. If the Nintendo die-hards like ourselves are scoffing at the prices, the average consumer is probably just going to opt for a Switch 1.

@chardir Street fighter 6 and the bravely default remaster both use game key cards.

These prices confirm that I'll be continuing my practice of only buying games second hand a few months after release to save 25 to 30%

@AstroTheGamosian I think an anime would have been ideal. Teaming up with Studio Ghibli (or heck, even Stupid Ponoc) would be a dream come true.

@FlyingDunsparce Arceus was a muddy, pixelated mess. Can't believe they released it in that state, honestly. However, it's the most fun I've ever had playing a Pokemon game in spite of that. If they can retain the gameplay loop in ZA, I think it will be a success.

@DoubleDate They just need to market it properly. Sony gets away with iteration, so why not Nintendo? Just, for the love, call it Nintendo Switch 2 (a la, PS2, PS3, iPhone 12, iPhone 13). People understand iteration when they see numbers. I would love to see Nintendo release an upgraded console every few years like Apple does with their phones, similar form factor but more powerful. Plays the same games and more.

@-wc- Definitely. It got a little samey to me, but that was after 20 hrs or so. If you like sims, I would def. check it out. People say it's the definitive Forza.

I also have Sega Rally Revo and MX Vs ATV Reflex on my short-list. Like you, I feel there's something about the old arcade racers that has not been replicated. Sega Rally on Saturn was my jam.

@-wc- So far, I've picked up Forza Motorsport 4 and Project Gotham 4. Forza will give you that Gran Turismo vibe with analog controls. I have a list of at least 10 others... NFS, Pure, Blur, Split Second, Burnout.
