Pathea Games, a studio you'll likely know as the developer behind My Time at Portia, will be bringing its latest release Ever Forward to Switch next month, it's been confirmed.
Originally expected to be launching this time last year, Ever Forward has now been in the works for several years. A press release for the game's launch date announcement notes that the team at Pathea has been busy creating puzzles "with the puzzle gamer in mind"; it reads, "the story and art style are both attractive and good in catching the player’s initial attention, but the puzzles are everything."
Here's a quick catch-up on what it's all about:
Ever Forward is the story of Maya, lost in a strange world somewhere between reality and imagination. She is alone to confront her despair on her journey of discovery, where she must unlock her memories and confront her fears to unravel the secrets of the world. This puzzle-platformer will require players to use their observational skills and intelligence to solve multiple puzzles to piece together the mystery of Maya's past and what dark secrets she has buried.
Set to launch on 7th December, you'll be able to grab the game from the Switch eShop for $14.99, or you can treat yourself to a physical edition for a recommended price of $39.99 (a digital voucher for the original soundtrack is included with the physical game).
Physical pre-orders are available at Amazon (currently $24.99), GameStop, and Best Buy.

Was looking out for this. Going to have to see how it looks and runs on Switch.
Looks weird, might buy it
Love 3d platform puzzlers, and looks weird that is my type of game.
Hoping the physical comes to Amazon UK
Looks so pretty! I hope it controls well. I'm definitely interested.
Looks good, for me, it is how quickly the difficulty ramps up. I really like puzzle platformers, but sometimes I just get too frustrated. That said, a good story can motivate me through some big challenges. We will see . . .
Look fun. I love how in recent years, 3D platformers have made a comeback. And not only that but there's new ones that are serious and artful, it's not just cartoon character ones like Mario and Banjo Kazooie style things, it's actually a new idea for the genre pretty much. Have the kind of thing that's been done in 2D indie platformers for a long time now, but in 3D
