Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of The Nintendo Direct Mini?

I liked it enough. Normally I’m not a fan of shadow drops but it made sense for this Direct with no new huge announcements. If people had been hyping it up for a day or two they would have been massively disappointed. Xenoblade and Bravely Default look phenomenal and I’m excited for the new Smash character and Episode I Racer but we still know virtually nothing about the second half of the year. If Nintendo is saving all their cards for June it could be the best mid-year Direct in a long time.

Re: Talking Point: Why Pokémon Sword & Shield's Expansion Pass Changes The Rules For The Series

For those who bought the base game (like me) this is the better option because we get to pay $30 instead of another $60 game to get the extra content.

For those who skipped the base game and were waiting for a third version now they have to pay $90 for all the content instead of $60 rerelease.

To appease both groups, GF should have either released this DLC as free updates (especially when it was being developed concurrently with the base game rather than as add-on content to a satisfying and complete experience) or released it as a standalone like Torna.

Re: Galarian Slowpoke Is Waiting For You In Today's Pokémon Sword And Shield Update

New forms have been added mid-gen since ORAS, maybe even before that so I don't have a problem with new Pokemon that weren't in the base game. Even updating the base game for compatibility is beyond anything GF has done before, so this is a welcome change. My bigger problem is how the Expansion Pass is split into two different versions for no other reason than to make more money, it seems.

Re: Mario Kart Tour Downloaded 20 Million Times On Release Day

Longevity is what really matters. We've seen how apps like Super Mario Run and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp are big hits for a little while but soon fall out of the public consciousness, and I'm interested to find out whether Mario Kart: Tour will be like those games or follow the path of Fire Emblem: Heroes, Nintendo's most profitable mobile game by far.
