Yesterday, a number of official Nintendo Twitter accounts shared a quick glimpse at Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition's remastered soundtrack, offering up a short clip of the newly produced Colony 9 theme. Intriguingly, a similar tweet has now appeared from Nintendo's Australia and New Zealand account, but this time it comes with some extra, very welcome news.
As you can see, the tweet notes that players will be able to "choose from either the original or remastered soundtrack" when the game launches next month. It's a little odd that the tweets from Nintendo's North American and Europe accounts failed to mention this, but we won't complain.

Fans of the original often give particularly high praise to the game's soundtrack, so being able to switch between the original recordings and these new, polished versions should be quite the treat.

It’s such a great feature in these remasters, Final Fantasy X made it so easy in the menu to switch soundtrack.
YES!! If some of the remastered tracks don't cut it, I can switch to the soundtrack that we all know and love!!
Unlike Dragon Quest XI, which had the same feature, both versions of the soundtrack are enjoyable.
YES. Thank you. I like remasters that do that. Like FFXHD. The new arrangements didn't click with me. So it's nice to have the OGs there to listen too
I probably spent over 300h on the original one and never got tired of the soundtrack. Looking forward to the remastered version, but this is a nice option to compare both versions
Here's the track I'm most excited to hear! Hope the remaster version is just as awesome!

The fact that they didn't have to do this makes this so cool. They could've just ported the original OST, or have the remake songs replace it entirely.
But no. They have both ready to go for all players who either want the original musical experience or the more advanced, remade ones.
Thank you, Monolith Soft!
Not a big fan of the game but I always appreciate when games with remastered soundtracks do this, makes it much easier to appreciate the new stuff too.
Well, this is just win win isn't it!
The original soundtrack was already so well done that it arguably didn't need a remaster, but they gave us one anyway.
I can't wait to discover the remastered music.
Good to hear, I just hope they’ll release the soundtrack complete on CD in Japan. Still slightly miffed I gotta deal with an oversized frisbee in the LE we’re getting.
Mmhmmm...tell me why exactly this game isn't released right now?
That's great news
Excellent feature. I remember with the Final Fantasy X remaster how I liked about 50% of the old tracks and 50% of the new tracks. On the Vita version it never gave you the option to switch between, which was really dumb.
@Zeldafan79
Absolute classic!
That's great! My hype level for this game is over 9000!
Xenoblade Chronicles has the best RPG OST since Final Fantasy VIII* so this is good news.
I like options, particularly when it comes to a game that already has a stellar OST!
I plan to listen to the original. My game is already preordered via Amazon.
Options are always nice.
The remastered tracks I've heard have all been pretty big improvements on the originals thus far, so I'll probably never make use of this, but it's nice to have options, as always.
It keeps getting better and better.
I wish more developers would do stuff like this if for no other reason than to showcase what came before.
I'm incredibly excited for the remastered soundtrack. I've listened to the OST for the Wii version incessantly, so I'm hopeful I can do the same with this one.
I’m playing FFX now and I can’t wait for XC DE. It’s great to have these options, but as a newbie to both games you wonder which option to go for.
XC DE is so huge I doubt I’ll be doing a 2nd playthrough anytime soon.
@RPGamer That was me yesterday.
This game just keeps getting better and better. Not that I dislike the remastered versions but I've been listening to the originals for so long. I just can't see myself playing this gem without them
Every new thing I hear about this game makes me more excited.
Anyone know if they’ve changed the voice overs? I’ve heard that the English acting I’m the original was just so so??
I really wished I had this option back when I played Omega Ruby. Hoenn region had some of my all-time favorite Poke tracks, and the remixed soundtrack totally ruined a bunch of my favorite tunes. This is always subjective, so the option to choose is greatly appreciated in any rerelease.
So far, all I've listened is worse than the original, so this is great news for me
@Zeldafan79 there is already a preview of that track from the new game. It doesn't really sound much different tbh
So the Australia tweet was deleted....mistakenly revealed it too soon or got it completely wrong and the feature won't be in the game?
