Sony entered in the hardware market to make money on every videogames sold on the market. It's a control freak strategy they never stopped to have unlike Nintendo. Presenting Sony as the poor small victim is nonsense. And if Nintend had accepted the deal with Playstation they would be in the same poor state as Square-Enix now. Sony isn't here to make friends or build a viable industry. They're here to make big money on a bland and standardized market they want to tax on unlike Nintendo who adpoted a full content maker policy.

Since Sony has lost the japanese market they do everything they can to destroy the japanese industry with their big wallet. If you like japanese videogames then boycott Sony.

@batmanbud2 Story is not part of game design at all. Story writers should obey to game designers, not the opposite like in most western games and their copy pasted game design. That's the condition so videogames can be identified as an artistic medium. Nintendo is fighting to make videogame medium a unique art while Sony is fighting against this to make videogame a corporate product made by algorithms. History will judge.

Metroid Dread is a must play on Switch. If you own a switch it's a big mistake to miss it.

The switch is so crazy even a Fzero could sell well on it.

Crazy that the Gamecube had a bigger legacy than the PS2. Like the PS2 emulator isn't on Steam but everyone is asking for the Gamecube emulator. This proves the 150 million of PS2 were mostly people who bought a cheap dvd player. It wasn't a real gamer console.

I don't see Gameboy Donkey Kong 94 in that list therefore it's invalid.

@Sputnik_Corner Nintendo isn't against emulation. Nintendo is against people making money with emulation. Nintendo never sued emulator developers unlke Sony.

@NinjaNicky Most people never beat it lol. The first levels are very appealing but later in the game the puzzles get too cryptic and some game mechanics are too frustrating.

Metroid Dread is a much better game than Metroid Prime. It deserves better sales.

The last Animal Crossing was directed by a woman. Call me when a game of this caliber on Playstation or Xbox will be directed by a woman. If you complain more about Nintendo about this question you're just a hypocrite.

@Buizel Wasn't always like that. In the 90's Street Fighter 2 sold over 15 million copies while Link to the Past+Link's Awakening didn't even do half that. But the popularity of Street Fighter plummeted with bad choices.

@johnedwin I just can't get back to the PS2 version after I played the 3DS version. It's too improved. We can also argue that Dragon Quest is all about cheap graphics and sounds as it started this way.

@johnedwin Played both and 3DS version is much better. You can see the monsters on the map and accelerates the combat animations which decrease the grinding time a lot since you can see the metal slimes or golden golems on the map. Yes you need 200 hours of grinding on the PS2 version but the 3DS version can be beaten in less than 100 hours. That's a huge improvement to me.

@NotTelevision Yeah Skyward Sword has a very heavy narrative. They went back on that with BOTW.

1994 also had Donkey Kong on Gameboy. A great underrated masterpiece and a very representative Nintendo game. Cheap presentation but very smart game design.

I'm more a JRPG guy so my favorite games are SMT5, Xenoblade 3, Project Triangle, YS VIII, Valkyria Chronicles 4, Astral Chain, BOTW, Metroid Dread, Mario Odyssey, Smash Bros Ultimate and Samurai Shodown. The Switch has a great library.

@chipia They added a lot of visual effects it doesn't look like the Gamecube game at all.

@betterman Retro was created because Nintendo liked the Turok games on the N64 so they hired these developers to make FPS for them. Which gave us the Metroid Prime games. But now those developers are not part of Retro anymore there's no much point to keep that studio except to support other studios.

Still love headshooting is this game. The damage animations are still great and each shot has an impact thanks to the awesome sound design so it doesn't feels like you're shooting into paper like a lot of modern FPS.

The Prime games had a lot of fetichism around Samus armor and all these weird mechanism to move and unlock. Metroid Dread devs understood that very well.

Do I want more or less game mechanics in my videogame? Hmmm, decision decision...

@SmaggTheSmug Sonic was a mix of Speedy Gonzales and Doraemon. Little Mac was Rocky Balboa, Solid Snake was John Rambo, Shinobi was Sonny Chiba.

Not very surprising. Nintendo audience rarely buy sequels on same system. The huge success of Splatoon 3 took everyone by surprise.

@Anachronism Portable hardware cost more to make. Smaller so more expensive components needed and the screen alone make the cost production skyrockets. I doubt the switch hardware makes more profits than the PS5 hardware which is much more simple to make.

@Rayquaza2510 I love Etrian Odyssey too but Nexus really felt like a definitive game in both content and challenge. I don't see how the series would survive without the dual screen.

@DarkCoolEdge The Switch has more games than every previous Nintendo consoles added. And plenty of quality games. It's the PS2 of Nintendo but Nintendo fanboys only care about complaining. If it was a Sony system it would be praised like it deserves.

Lmao at Virtual Boy being the portable counterpart of the Snes. The original gameboy peaked during Snes era, not Nes.

The Steam Deck is a joke compared to the PS Vita. It's too big, too heavy, uncomfortable, overheating and battery charge is ridiculous. It's obvious Steam lack experience in making hardware.

The Wiiu can even play wii and gamecube games natively. Not with emulation so it's better for your electricity bill.
