@Dezzy Miyamoto is a game designer. He wants game designers to create new game mechanics. If you drop the role of the game designer you stop treating videogame as a creative artform by using its specificity. RPG are all about making a game with an excel table. There's no need for a creative game designer when you make a turn based RPG.

@fadedcolors lol western AAA aren't made with love. They are made by an army of hundreds slaves who don't have any creative freedom. There is nothing original in the game design of Ghost of Tsushima, just big money development that bought its success.

I really hope the criticisms from Sony fanboys about Octopath Traveler or Bravely graphics won't hurt the sales of this game. Once again if we want to stop the anti japanese bias in the actual industry we should boycott the company that is forcing it and stop buying Sony products.

@Not_Soos There's also the usual anti nintendo bias. Ratchet and Clank, Spiderman and Demon's Souls are considered as a revolutionary games while Paper Mario, Pokemon or Xenoblade are considered as rehash. Be careful about the narrative the big wallets are trying to force into your mind.

Imo the best football arcade games ever are the ISS games on the N64 and the best football simulation games ever are the PES games on PS2, Xbox and Wii. They were all made by Konami. Modern PES try too much to be like Fifa and its unprecise gameplay though.

Just skip the PS5 and you won't have to care about that. And you won't give your money to a company who tries to create a quality scale based on budget development instead of game design creativity.

Nintendo do not want to participate in the budget race and do not believe the quality of a game is correlated to its budget. Nintendo is the only big videogame company in the world who has game designers in its administrative board and in directing position. Nintendo consider making a videogame is like playing a game. Sometimes you win and sometimes you loose but the most important is to let developers express themselves instead of following a straight commercial formula decided by business suits.

The AKI wrestling games were the best. They had a frame based parry system for both hitting moves and grapples. Western developed wrestling games don't come close to this quality of gameplay.

@Retron Nintendo is a school of game design. They're here to try new mechanics and give game designers creative freedom whatever it fails or succeed. They're the only big videogame company left still doing that. If they stop doing that they die. If you want a market where budget size decides the quality of a videogame then Nintendo is not for you. They're a hit or miss company since the very beginning.

@Octane Battles and puzzles are 2 different things. Battles are just a matter of excel tables. Puzzles are where the creative work is. Paper Mario games are getting closer and closer to those Lucasart point and click games.

@Alztru It's just a good game design idea in the good time and you complain it doesn't have a big budget. Videogames can be a form of expression for everyone even if you're game is small. There's no point arguing with you, you contantly move the goalpost and you're too blinded by money.

@Alztru It's free. It doesn't hurt anyone. It doesn't take profits from anyone. The only think it takes is screen time, but for good reason. It makes people move in an era where it can be difficult to since some people live in countries where they can't go outside. You should be more virulent about full price game that are basic and don't have any game design idea and only get good reviews scores because they have big budget development. The videogames industry is too much alienated by big money and this game is far from being the biggest problem.

Xbox and Playstation first then other systems after. If it's released on everything at same time it will be seen as a small game and less Xbox and Playstation players will buy it at full price.

I hope Sony will manage to kill its competitors and get a monopoly of the consoles market. They know how to handle the hackers problem and discussing PS4 hacking is forbidden everywhere. Sony will show to these useless hackers what a real control freak megacorp is.

@TheWingedAvenger Talented people left Konami years ago. When Kojima wanted to get all the workforce of the company to work on his high budget Metal Gear games and outsource to external development teams their other IP such as Silent Hill or Castlevania. It's the high budget AAA model pushed by Sony that killed Konami. They should have focused on more varied middle budget projects if they wanted to survive.

It's free marketing. Catherine announced on Switch: no one care and people start trashtalking the game. Persona not announced on Switch: big discussions everywhere: make people think the game is great. The Switch is the target Sony want to destroy and anything touching it will be cursed in internet discussions.

3DS emulator asks too much power. I don't want to damage my phone or its battery with overheat.

A Saturn or a Dreamcast mini would be cool but it would be hard to keep an emulating machine this powerful + 2 controllers in the $100 price range.

@FiveDigitLP Videogames market has become a market of heists. We don't see long career game designers anymore. If videogame want to be considered as an art the market should be more than that.

The funny thing is Sega has always been a much bigger company in size than Nintendo.

I don't like when games are given for free on big stores. It makes little studios very dependant of big megacorps who own these stores.

It's a great metroidvania but it's visually very ugly. Yes that's include the PS4 version.

@Noid Nintendo still has game designers in its administrative board. Not sure if it will last but it's the only big company of the industry who still has that. They've not been completely taken over by financial people. And before you start, no, Pokemon is not and has never been a Nintendo IP.
