Re: CD Projekt Red "Not Really Cutting Anything" From The Witcher 3 On Nintendo Switch

frabbit

I played Skyrim for the first time ever on Switch. I know the graphics in that game are terrible compared to the remastered console editions or the PC version, but I still loved every minute of it on the Switch. I don't see this being any different.

It would be nice if Witcher 3 looked amazing but frankly it's just going to look as good as it can do with the limitations of the Switch taken into account. If the game is truly as good as people say (and I hope it is!), it should stand up without needing to be the best looking game ever.

I've actually got this on PS4 and played about an hour of it, just like I did with multiple PS4 titles over the past year. I need it portable in order to really put the hours in!

If Microsoft are going to release any IP it would be Banjo. They've done absolutely zilch with it, and if it helps secure a better relationship with Nintendo (which they apparently want) then this would be a good opportunity for them. They've already signed it off for Smash obviously so assuming the resource is there to make a remaster/port or even a new title then it's an inevitability in my mind.

Re: Feature: Nintendo E3 2019 - What Are You Hoping For?

Something is going to be left out, even of the things we rightly expect to be there. It wouldn't be Nintendo if they didn't completely miss something out.

In all seriousness, 40 minutes doesn't seem that long, I hope they give Animal Crossing a good 15 minutes and no longer, and spend the rest of the time in 1-2 minute trailers/reveals. I cannot sit for 40 minutes watching the one game like last year!

Re: Microsoft Details Xbox E3 Schedule, Lists Nintendo Direct As A Place You "Need To Be"

@BanjoPickles I see that side of it too, totally. And would Nintendo want to release A Link to the Past for "free" a couple months before they throw out Link's Awakening (remake)? Probably not.

But we've now had like 8 months of NES games. I don't even check what games go up on a monthly basis any longer. NES isn't an incentive for me to keep paying for the online service, and it's certainly not an incentive for the legions of young gamers who don't know (or care) about Nintendo's history. They just see some really difficult, really ugly games being flogged to them.

I love Tetris 99 though, and if Nintendo want to come out with another effort like that I am 100% down. I just really think we'll see SNES games on the Switch.

Also, Hollow Knight - incredible.

Re: Introducing Pokémon Home, A New Cloud Service Compatible With Switch And Mobile Devices

I've not played Pokemon seriously since Red/Blue and Gold/Silver (although I did complete Let's Go Pikachu recently for the nostalgia), but I have never traded Pokemon between games or anything like that. Clear something up for me...

If I level up a Pokemon in, say, Let's Go Pikachu to lvl.100 or whatever, or I have a shiny Mewtwo or something, I can carry that over to the new Pokemon game, stats and all? And have it playable from the beginning of the game? Someone enlighten me on how this works because I think I'm missing something.

Also, you can only complete a full Pokedex in the new games by trading across Pokemon from older games? Like 20 year old games..?

@NoxAeturnus I dunno. I got to Brooding Mawlek really early, before I had the wall jump or anything by down-slashing up across the spikes on the way to his location and spent ages on that a** hole before realising I was underpowered for the fight. Still, everyone has different skill levels I suppose.

@NoxAeturnus Hollow knight was hard going to begin with I thought. There is an actual text chain between me and my mate that goes like this:

"Mate, this Hollow Knight is not for me, I keep dying!"

Half an hour later

"Don't know if I'm going to stick with this"

5 hours later

"Nevermind"

Re: This Portable Joy-Con Charger Doubles Up As A Controller, And It Charges Your Switch Too

frabbit

@redwingleader Yep I've not had a problem either! I did pick up my pro controller last night though for the first time in a good while to play Zelda, cos... two years old n all that. And I discovered the controller was out of battery. Absolutely affronted by this development, I had to play with the charger plugged in. It was fully charged in like an hour and will last an estimated 3 million years before requiring another charge.

The undocked system itself is another story of course...
