The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening has easily become one of our most anticipated Switch titles over the last few weeks, and this feeling has only grown after our hands-on time with the game at E3. It's shaping up to be a wonderful retelling of the 1993 classic on Game Boy, but more and more subtle changes are being spotted as new footage appears online.
Eagle-eyed fans are doing what they do best - analysing every frame of every trailer for the juiciest details - and some of the results are very interesting indeed. Among them, and shared by Twitter user @Stealth40k, is this subtle difference within Sale's House O' Bananas.
As you can see in the two images below, Sale's bed has been replaced with a hammock, signifying that the development team haven't been afraid to spruce things up here and there. We imagine there'll be plenty of other small changes to discover throughout the game, too, but it's nice to see that the rest of the room appears to be practically identical, right down to the three pots in the corner.
In all honesty, we quite like seeing little changes like this; the key elements are still in place, but this boosts the sense that we're revisiting something that's now 25 years old. Of course some things will have changed in that time and Sale, if you're reading, congratulations on your fresh upgrade.
You'll be able to get your hands on all sorts of Link's Awakening goodies when the game launches this September; over the course of E3, limited edition sets and an adorable Link amiibo were revealed.
Are you excited for this one? What are you hoping to discover in your new journey across Koholint Island? Let us know in the comments.

This looks stunning! Can't wait to play this next to my GBA SP with the Original Link's Awakening
When can I pre-order the Limited Edition!?
I want to eat that apple
'subtle difference within Sale's House O' Bananas' Yup, if you hadn't pointed it out I wouldn't have spotted the difference.
So, will Ulrira give you a cellphone to reach him with now? 🤔
Would have been great if they could have implemented a retro toggle like Dragon’s Trap has. I loved going between the two views in that game to see the differences, but also how they were the same.
@mus422 I know, I keep on checking the UK Store for it, but still not there, only normal edition.
Also looks like Luigi's Mansion 3 is up from preorder now too (but only normal edition too - pretty sure there will be a special edition too)
"the rest of the room appears to be practically identical"
Flowers on the wall, leaves on the ground, different sized tables, a doormat, a flowerpot, more cans, and that's not even counting all that stuff you summed up with "bed replaced with hammock".
Should I list all the new decoration in Marin's house next?
@Aslanmagic
That's funny! They did manage to make it like realistic and appetizing, huh?
Link's Awakening: Happy Home Designer.
I'll be getting this for sure.
I know this one isn't even out yet, but I'd love a re-make of the Oracle games too!
@Tsurii be strong. Hang in there. It will all be okay soon. I have a call in for a wambulance. They should be to you shortly.
I'm now tempted to replay Link's Awakening DX along with this game just to play Spot The Difference. XD
I like Sale's spruced up design too.
@rdrunner1178 it’s just so...delicious looking
I'm gutted they got rid of the cabinets in new edition pouts Hoping for a spin-off called Link's Happy Home Academy which will help eradicate this travesty from memory.
Why has no-one made a joke about a banana hammock yet?
@Trickbaby14 what a pointless response.
@Tsurii the second you watched the trailer? Wow! Do you have super powers or something? You are a great detective!!
@MBII Not nearly as pointless as Tsurii being rude as heck. Not everyone notices little tweaks like that; it's a silly thing to act all ANGRY about. xD
@Semudara it's not rude to point out this article is completely pointless.
I feel if I bit Link’s head off it would be pure marzipan.
@MBII I found the article interesting; just because it doesn’t interest you doesn’t make it pointless.
the graphic style might not be everyone cup of tea and that is fine but i really like the style i'm really excited for this game
Ordered the limited-edition. I’m ready!
So it's pretty much the same game with new graphics right? I guess it's better than the same game with nothing changed, like many of the Wii u ports. But I just can't get myself to pay full price for a game I've already played just because it has new graphics and maybe an hour of new content. Also this game was kind of short from what I recall. All of that said If you haven't played it in sure it would be awesome to get on the switch!
The limited edition has already been available for pre order in some stores in Ireland. And quickly sold out.
Edit: it's available for pre order still in gamestop here, but for €15 dearer than other places.
It looks nice, I'm looking forward (re-)playing it
Kinda makes me wish Adventures of Mana was remade more like this...
