I'd be happy to finally give this a go. It's from 2012 or whatever, but graphically it should be fine as these kinds of aesthetics tend to stand the test of time a bit better than yon hyper-realistic efforts. Up for this if true.

@redwingleader Yep I've not had a problem either! I did pick up my pro controller last night though for the first time in a good while to play Zelda, cos... two years old n all that. And I discovered the controller was out of battery. Absolutely affronted by this development, I had to play with the charger plugged in. It was fully charged in like an hour and will last an estimated 3 million years before requiring another charge.

The undocked system itself is another story of course...

If this means I might now be "good" at this game I'm all for it...

Just started Corruption (as it's the only one I've still got) and it's just not doing it for me.

I know this is an exhausted point by now, but see if they would just put SNES games up, I would lose hours and hours to that, I would instantly change from a monthly to a yearly subscription, I would be much more appreciative frankly.

@BitLounger I remember it being amazing too! I did do a quick google on it after I saw this article and realised it didn't get such great reviews at the time. Maybe my 13 y/o mind was just taken aback by the graphics or something, but I remember it being awesome!

Looks pretty nice. Graphics remind me a lot of XIII. Think I'll give this one a shot and see if I can finally get the girlfriend to go co-op on a game. I assume she likes shooting/killing due to her constant rage.

@MS7000 I feel you, but no one is saying they're being shafted by Nintendo because Super Mario Run or AC: Pocket Camp hasn't made it to the Switch yet. As I said before though, I'm not personally fired up by this because I just couldn't get into Octopath on the Switch. Maybe my attitude would be different if this was something I really wanted.

@AlternateButtons 20 Million Switch owners aren't interested in JRPG's either.

I don't have a source, it just got announced for mobile about 5 minutes ago, but I'm pretty sure the port machine of all port machines will get a port in due course.

They're not screwing me over, I didn't like the first game, but I understand enough of what you're saying to bow out now. Enjoy Octopath Mobile Switch Edition when it comes.

@AlternateButtons And economies of scale and all that... 20 Million users isn't the same as 2 Billion potential customers or whatever that number is these days.

@AlternateButtons I don't see how anyone is getting screwed over here. Have you got a mobile..? It'll be out on Switch at some point if you want to hold off, as will a full fledged sequel more than likely.

@AlternateButtons I don't think a prequel released for mobile is a bad thing. It will get the masses initiated and hopefully they then go looking for the next Octopath game, which is only available on yon Switch.

Are the rumours maybe just referring to A Link to the Past being released via the SNES Online thingy?

I wasn't too impressed by it at all unfortunately. I understand it's not the final build but I don't know if there's much constructive I could add. It's just not for me.

That is frankly ridiculous. For a while there I was buying games on the Switch that were available for half the price (or less) on PS4, just because I was absolutely in love with the portable element. The advantages of the portable factor are real, but not enough to justify this for me. Shocking.

I might be an idiot, but I can't get my head around the battle royale aspect to be honest. Still massively enjoying the Tetris though, cos... Tetris.

Thought this was a good one all things considered. Although was I shouting at the TV when the last announcement wasn't Metroid Trilogy HD? Yes, of course I was. But still, 2D(ish) Zelda was second on my most wanted list.

Just as a side though, did Grid look really [removed] in terms of graphics? I know it's the Switch, but come on, never has console disparity been so clear to me.

Haha! I did think at first that I might not recognise it, but that's certainly a memorable little sample. Suits the broadcast pretty well too. Unlikely Nintendo are going to raise make any bones about this I'd have thought.

I hate to be a port-enthusiast on this site, but now the 3DS is pretty much done, can we start getting ports asap? Lots and lots of ports.

@Outspoken I never said it would be decent I haven't been a fan of any of their mobile content so far, but MK is massive, so I'm sure it will sell fairly well regardless of the quality. Mobile gamers will play anything... (joke, kind of).

That music haunts my dreams. I just picked up a wii yesterday and spent the night modding it. Found an option to turn off the main system music. Absolute holy grail of hacks.

That is pretty annoying. Why not stick this on the back of the box? Or even at the bottom of the front would be better I think. I'll be buying digitally anyway but I AM OUTRAGED for those that buy physical

I think the vast majority of responses on here indicate a lot of folks might have been in the same camp as me... excited but really nervous about the new game under its secret developers! People are okay with a substantial delay because they're confident it's being done right now.

No one but Retro should have touched this series after the Prime Trilogy. My heart literally skipped a beat when I saw they were having to start again (I'm clearly in too deep), but I am DELIGHTED Retro are now involved. They remind me of old Rare for some reason. GIMME IT (in 3.5 years)

@riChchestM It was the 90's. But, I mean, I don't exactly remember. Changing the batteries wasn't the memorable part of the experience but I assume I had to.

Super Mario Land was my first Mario game ever. Saved up my pocket money all year for a Gameboy. Had a really long bus trip to go on and played this all the way there for like 18 hours straight. Then on the way back I got so frustrated with it I headbutted the screen and smashed the LCD. Good times.

I picked up Dead Cells last week and I just cannot get into it! It's just not struck a chord with me right away unfortunately. Only played about an hour right enough but wasn't spurred on to play more.

I have opted for alternating between Smash and Grim Fandango. Also didn't play many (or maybe any) other fighting games last year so can't say if Smash is the best, but it's effin good, I know that!

Not a huge fan of RPG's but I am a big supporter of Steamworld Dig so I'll be giving this a shot.

Also, the title of this reminds me of a certain bad dude from The Smurfs...

Cute and all, but where really would a self respecting human being be able to wear this? It's not like it's a onesie or feckin underwear or something. Like, what occasion where I have to wear a shirt is it going to be respectful to wear a Pikachu themed shirt?

@Moroboshi876 Yeah I suppose! Got to be a reason for the swap though. Maybe after doing a perfect parry the animation takes too long to go back to normal so you have to switch shields and that resets the animation so he can do it again.

Anyway, it's pretty cool

@Moroboshi876 I think that the guardians fire at the same time, but link is positioned so that the guardians are different distances from him - beams then reach him one after the other. In switching shields asap after perfect parry, he kills enough time that the next perfect parry is due as soon as the shield is equipped. Maybe...

If there's a GB/GBA Emulator on the way and I can play the Oracle games and Minish Cap on the Switch I will literally cry.
