Alongside the Joker and Version 3.0 shenanigans earlier today was the announcement of the next wave of amiibo, all from the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate series. The effortlessly cool Pokémon Trainer will be joining the effortlessly adorable Pichu and Isabelle for a new batch of figures releasing this summer.
Originally, we only had confirmation of their release dates in North America - 26th July - but now we know when they'll be arriving in Europe, too. Europeans will be pleased to know that the wait for them is slightly smaller, with 19th July being scheduled in as the release date for all three figures.
It's a little bit early for pre-orders to start appearing, so don't worry about rushing around to visit every video game retailer in existence just yet. We'll make sure to keep an eye out and let you know if we spot any pre-orders going live over the next few weeks.
Do you collect amiibo? Will you be adding any of these to your lineup? Let us know which one's your favourite in the comments below.

I've got every amiibo released in the UK aside from Octoling Splatoon 2 amiibo (which I will get at some point). I don't know why, I love collecting them though.
Yeah I've got every amiibo released in Europe so far as well, as well as some imported ones like the Monster Hunter ones, Box Boy, gold Mega Man (Smash), and gold and silver Mario. May be forgetting one or two. So I'm definitely going to add these to the collection too when they drop.
I just need an incineroar amiibo and then I'll be happy
Ugh, July again...! Have mercy on my wallet Nintendo...
Yawn. I'm waiting for the Snake, Simon Belmont and Joker announcements.
@Yosher are you keeping your still boxed? You also displaying yours??? I am fast running out of space !!!
Definitely have to have! Please do a Squritle and Ivysaur amiibo!
I have all the amiibo except the gold and silver monster hunter ones and the gold megaman 11 amiibo. Even the normal and dark version Skylander ones with vehicles. 😁
But I don't have the cards or the cereal box. 😔
@Sean161 After this lot, we have Squirtle, Ivysaur, Snake and Simon as one’s we have seen models of. Then the only nine other characters are Richter, Chrom, Dark Samus, Incineroar and Joker, alongside the last 4 DLC characters. There may also be alternate skins released later down the road.
Why are we still here?
Just to suffer?
Huh. Squirtle and Ivysaur aren't in a 3-pack with Pokémon Trainer. Maybe Incineroar?
I have never and will never buy one of these things. Ridiculous waste of money IMO. I'm sure they look good on a shelf in a games room or something, but pretty sure Nintendo are just ripping the p*ss with these now.
@harlowlad I mean I do want to keep them boxed, but due to that lack of space I probably will take them out of the boxes sooner or later and neatly place them somewhere. I know I'll never sell them anyway and beyond the boxes looking nice, I don't care much about keeping them in 'mint' status. The only exceptions are that I'm buying any Yoshi-related amiibo twice, and the doubles I do keep in their boxes.
I kind of want to get or make one of those specific 'amiibo stands' sometime that I'd be able to place all of these on, but I don't want to do that until amiibo themselves stop releasing altogether which will probably be a while. This is due to wanting to know how much space I'll need for this stand.
@BensonUii Unfortunately, no I don't. I bought these over from a friend in the US myself and I only have one of each, sorry.
@KingBowser86
Probably he's the same as Charizard, functionality-wise: the Trainer in SSB4 nets you Charizard, whereas Charizard in Ultimate gives you the whole enchilada. Or something, I dunno, I'm far too broke to afford to even care about amiibo to the same extent as actual collectors.
@BensonUii Yeah I still think it's strange that they never saw release in Europe. They were released in Australia I believe. Similar case with Mega Man 11's amiibo which was only released in Japan and the US, which I personally missed out on and might not be able to get.
PT (and Squirtle and Ivysaur) will be mine.
@BensonUii Thank you very much for that link! I've been hoping to get it along with the game though, and then I would have preferred the English version and not the Japanese version.. but unfortunately I can only really find the Japanese version there. It might be the only option though. Do you happen to know if the Japanese version actually has English language support? If so I think I will get that one, because it still beats the digital-only version that we got in Europe.
Will get pichu and trainer. Just got ken, daisy and young link.
I only collect the Smash ones so once they are all out that is me done with Amiibos. I do display them though and that is why I have carried on. Spent far too much but gave me something to buy during the quiet Wii U times.
I actually think Nintendo will stop making Amiibos soon and move on anyway as only a few did basic things in Yoshi's Crafted World.
@Sean161 Well, Ivysaur and Squirtle are getting individual ones much like Charizard, so I'd imagine Nintendo's going to do as many alts as they can.
Give us a Leaf amiibo!
@BensonUii Thank you very much! I just ordered it (but through Amazon.de because I had no payment option I could use on the Japanese one). Cost me €70 in the end but for a game + amiibo imported I think it's worth it.
I'll certainly be keeping an eye out for the gold and silver Mario amiibo as well. I don't have high hopes that they'll pop up again for a good price, but if I find them I'll definitely be sure to let you know!
@BensonUii Okay, I'll be sure to be on the lookout for those two then! I recalled seeing Silver Mario on a store from my country actually (an import), but sadly they seem to be gone now or I would have ordered that for you there. If they get it again I'll let you know.
Dat Joker amiibo....holy...
