Re: Nintendo's Market Value Drops By $1 Billion After Animal Crossing Switch Delay

dumedum

I expected it . Same thing happened last year. I have some stock and sold some of it before E3. Hopefully this bounces back. Btw, nobody actually loses money. It's on paper. And it's already the secondary market. So Nintendo doesn't lose money. One investor sells and another buys the same stock pool. Investors decided to sell the stock and make money now.

Re: Video: Nintendo's E3 Direct Went From Pedestrian To Perfection

It's amazing how beautiful and Pixar like are those character reveals this was one of the best yet with a sequel of sorts to the K. Rool reveal. Other than that, I think the best reveals were Witcher 3 and No More Heroes 3. For commercial purposes , the Zelda games and AC are very important.

Re: Resident Evil 5 & 6 Are Heading To Switch This Fall

dumedum

I'll buy RE5 if they fixed stupid horrible Sheva getting in your way all the time .

@LuciferOnReddit yes it does play like RE4. But without the Wii's awesome Wii Remote ... and without the dark scary atmosphere , and with that thing next to you all the time.

Re: Random: The Nintendo Wii Simply Refuses To Die

I agree with the other comments. I also find this article claiming it's for old people or something quite disturbing. It is not for old people. It's for gamers. It has the awesome VC and some real Wiiware gems. And I always want to go back to some of the best games some of them mentioned here. More than anything I will always keep it hooked for my GC games so what does that tell you... prehistoric ancient ? Isn't Retro one of the biggest things for gamers ?

Re: Review: Deponia - An Amusing Graphic Adventure Which Is Totally Overpriced On Switch

dumedum

@GrailUK I agree and it shows how low / primitive game reviews really are. Can you imagine a movie review saying that the movie is really good but you can get it cheaper on Netflix or maybe you can just download it for free? 😂 Also the idea that this game is the same on an alternative platform is totally asinine. Yeah I'm sure that other console is just the same as the Switch (portability , design of the machine and so on). Review and add a "caveat emptor" if they want in a footnote would be more professional way to do it.
If people want to argue that video games are not a work of art , reviews like this serve them the best evidence on a silver platter, sadly .

Re: Nintendo Switch Has Now Shifted 34.47 Million Units Worldwide, Sales Up 12.7%

dumedum

@NinChocolate it is a handheld but it is also a regular home console. You can call it a hybrid or you can call it both. The dock is an integral part of it and its vision and its whole control scheme and games are also designed with that it mind ... Since the hybrid nature of it is a core part of the philosophy of the whole console (unlike an iPad) I agree that calling it just a handheld (without more) is inaccurate.

Re: Nintendo Appears To Be Making Positive Steps Towards Breaking Into The Chinese Market

dumedum

@jikflet this is a fascinating subject because they might be a communist government but China is successful today because they embraced capitalism (which is awesome). So there is a lot of excitement about Chinese companies but there is this looming danger that this is fake capitalism and in the end they will fail because of this communist core ingrained in them... It is at odds with one another and one day will/might blow up badly . Don't know when the tipping point will be.

Re: Review: Shadowgate - A Faithful And Tricky Remake Most Suited To Retro Fans

dumedum

@Zach1122 agreed adventure games can apply to more genres but that came first in think and then people used it for other games ... They should come up with a more respectful descriptive name . This just rubs me the wrong way like it removes the thought process the enjoyment part, the story of it, and it becomes some kind of boring puzzle pointing and clicking.

Re: Review: Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn - A Timeless Classic That Feels Right At Home On 3DS

dumedum

I envy people who have time to play both their Switch and the 3DS. It's also pretty cool to think that my 3DS sitting somewhere in the house is still having games come out for it.

I don't know if I will ever get to the 3DS again unfortunately. For existing Nintendo customers, I agree it's kind of weird to expect us to buy a non 3D game for the 3DS. My Wii is actually still connected to the TV. I can play it again more easily... so these two mini games must be really really good.... for new players, I wonder how many of them are interested in playing the 3DS in 2D instead of Switch games.

Re: Yacht Club Games Has Delayed Shovel Knight: King Of Cards

dumedum

@WaveBoy right as usual. The problem is seemingly they promised too much (free) DLC at the time they financed the game and now they are stuck with it forever. The amiibo for shovel Knight is btw amazing , I love it... But the idea to release even more amiibo (3!!) was way too ambitious and it looks like they can't deliver .

Re: Shakedown Hawaii Releasing On Switch And 3DS Early Next Year

dumedum

I bought RCR on Wiiware and loved it.
I also love how accessible the developer is. You can talk with him on Twitter, email , he's the nicest. I received a cool T shirt and other items buying the Wiiware version in a promotion he did.

Then much later I got the Switch physical collectors edition with more goodies. So hoping for that too here.

Re: Ubisoft CEO Says Sticking With Nintendo In "Difficult" Times Has Helped Their Relationship

dumedum

@wiggleronacid it's not a lot of games at all . Some of them are total crap. Some are horrible port jobs. Not gonna even discuss the indies or Wii's Just Dance. It's embarrassing to even mention. .And what exactly did they spend time on for Switch? Another Rayman Port just not as good as the Wii U one? Or another just dance or this horrific Rabbids Mario? I don't think there was anything else. These guys released endless amount of games on other platforms. Where's Tom Clancy. Where's Far Cry. Where's The Crew. Where's For Honor. Wheres I'm Alive. Where's all that AC and Division and Rainbow and From Dust and Watchdogs 2. Nothing is at all on the Switch.
There's no more the power excuse. Not after Doom and Wolfenstein. Certainly not for ol' 360/PS3 stuff.

So it's just what it is. Dishonest bunch of liars saying that they have a good relationship . They do nothing. It is what it is.

Re: Ubisoft CEO Says Sticking With Nintendo In "Difficult" Times Has Helped Their Relationship

dumedum

I don't like these guys very much and they are dishonest.

They screwed up with Assassin's Creed - could have had multiple games on Switch already as well as dozens of other franchises.

I think the Mario Rabbids collaboration is a POS sorry.

And my favorite game, Zombi U, they criticized the sales for no reason and then made a disgusting port of it to the other consoles instead of improving it and making more sequels for it, perhaps for Switch. Etc etc.
