My favorite video game-related book is "Rise of the Videogame Zinesters: How Freaks, Normals, Amateurs, Artists, Dreamers, Drop-outs, Queers, Housewives, and People Like You Are Taking Back an Art Form" by Anna Anthropy.

This book inspired me because I was reading this book in the bookstore, and someone came to me and was asking me what I was reading or something like that , and we started talking about how we love videogames and what inspires us , and how it is our dream to make a videogame one day, and that this writer just gets it - she is saying that videogames are born out of our hearts and that they are the true form of art, of pure love. Later we had a coffee and it turned out this woman and me went to school together, and we completely forgot about it, and we, and our families have been good friends since. Our children now actually play videogames together.

These are the "best guys ever". Their bit trip games on WiiWare were out of this world amazing and deep groundbreaking experiences of course. Not once did they complain about "Wiiware size limit" that so many incompetents did.
Then they released a cool collection physical version on Wii.
Then they released a 3DS version.
Then despite stupid people arguing otherwise, they released Runner 2 on Wii U ON LAUNCH.
And now this with so much love for the Switch.
Love love love love them.
Also, Woah Dave! is wonderful too.

But this now? the TIMING? If there's any redeeming it is actually using the gold coins towards purchases. It's free money, it's good, it's finally a good way to use the gold coins. Thank you Nintendo for doing something right with the new system finally. Thank you.

@KingdomHeartsFan they can do both but even if they just did the old games you add that to the Nintendo games , you add 3rd party exclusives that surely must arrive if the console keeps selling, and all indies , and it's an impressive catalogue.

WW thought Ares was behind it - yes . But the audience was "oh what a naive superhero... Thinking Ares is responsible for WW I. There is no Ares involved. Your entire quest was based on a myth, a fairytale. " So when it was revealed Ares really was responsible , it was an amazing moment for the (possibly not to a hardcore WW buff maybe) spectator.

Finding out Ares was really responsible for the World War I think was the most beautiful thing in the film. Yeah it had further implications maybe but that moment....

@thatawesomedude what you say is legitimate it just has nothing to do what with what I said. I didn't say these critics using the movie for political reasons are correct. It never stopped the Left before. Of course you are correct, there is largely stuff here that President Trump can easily be supportive of, but they are still using it for their (phony) agenda. Also 100% of all movie critics give or take are of the Left so there is no two sides of this, and about moviegoers it is an action film so that never stopped conservatives from going to the films played and preached by Left actors.

Now the point is I have no problem with any of that. It it just the film itself on its merits is mediocre. And even with all the praises, the movie establishment doesn't think otherwise. We will not see any academy awards here, will we. To be honest , even the VFX disappointed with substantially weak CGI (acknowledged by many critics) compared with the stunning beauty of films like Guardians of the Galaxy 2 , Thor: Ragnarok and Dr. Strange.

@deucezulu22 I don't have a problem to be in the minority. Actually that's the whole point of the definition "overrated". I think that was a given. Also it's not my job to think of new ideas it's theirs. And if you want to see superhero movies that got it right , look at Spiderman: Homecoming with that incredible twist about Vulture's family or the breathtaking twist of Wonder Woman when you realize she was right all along about the villian. Real twists real suspense.

And Ross was a dork they made fun of the whole film.

The falling from Grace and the comeback trope, the tribe that says that won't help and you know they will (yawn), the odd incompetent guy (this time white and weak of course) who manages to do something important, the villian who is so evil "but really it's all our fault and we get his point" but he's still not going to be pardoned because... too much boilerplate.

You want to make a great film it's time you come up with more meaningful plots.

Of course you don't have to. It's a superhero film. The problem is it getting 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. It's overrated for completely political reasons. Blacks and their history . That's fine but it's still overrated .. judging the movie on its merits it is mediocre.

Very overated film. Briefly fell asleep during. It is competent and well acted but uses exactly the same formula millions of other movies do. Very predictable and unbelievable etc. Also wtf soul stone comon'.

@10-zx yes, on this instance it renders your opinion worthless, no offense. Actually having a kid, that you care about and spend so much of your time with caring for, changes your life so fundamentally and dramatically that it's impossible to understand from outside. It's emotional, it's financial , it's mental. It reshapes your relationship with your spouse completely. It is like having a whole new life. Nothing is ever the same again. I would have said exactly what you said. Before.

@10-zx do you even have kids? When your kid is yelling and demanding a smartphone and you're exhausted and you also have a million of other things to do, it's next to impossible. Also, your whole premise is faulty. My kid learnt tons of English and math and other skills from playing a smartphone and watching it.

I am a little worried about the switch being damaged and so on so I do hope it can be played with the pro.... I care about that too. But at least it won’t have the screen to be destroyed.
