After ongoing teases from Goichi "Suda51" Suda and an intriguing ending in Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, it's now been confirmed the beam wielding professional assassin will be making a mainline return at some point next year.
Yes, after a ten-year absence in the series, we're finally going to be seeing a new major entry in the No More Heroes series from Grasshopper Manufacture. The game is unsurprisingly titled No More Heroes 3 - also stylised as 'III' - and sees Travis return to Santa Destroy. Here's a bit more about what Travis gets up to, courtesy of the official Nintendo PR:
There he finds a huge artificial island metropolis floating in the sea, and a mysterious flying object hovering high above.

Honestly, I thought this was something else and was so let down when it said NMH3 lol
Oh well...
I'm pretty excited for it. It's looking pretty nice. Wonder if they'll re-release the first two games on the Switch.
Cool to see him back!
Nice to see him back , but thought it was something else first
@BenAV That was my thought as well. Would really make sense imho, esp. if they manage to get the collection out before NMH3 touches down. I guess they'd had announced it if that were the case though... bummer. Still, excited for this. Been saying I'D instantly go for NMH3 if they ever make it, not Strikes Again so - sorry -, so now I can prove I'm true to my word
YES FINALLY. If my brother han't gotten me the switch this was the game I was waiting for to get a switch for.
It would surprise me at this point if they don’t release the original two on the Switch.
Its nice to see that after a cheap mini-game fest he finally decided to make a proper new No more heroes, and coming to the Switch.
Never played a No more heroes before, but this teaser looked cool.
It somehow felt like NMH to me, but the more I saw, the more I hoped it to be something else. Still, given that different boss fights had totally different settings, they might just have picked the "wrong" one to impress me, strictly personally speaking.
Looking forward to more of it nevertheless, I've been waiting for it a LOOOONG time.
Really loved the first two games. This is good news, although not surprising at all.
Love it!!!... The presentation didn't move the needle much for 2019. But great to see New stuff on deck for 2020 already.
@NintyNate What did you think it was?
Glad to see No More Heroes 3 is coming.
But there was no way I was going to buy the mediocre game Travis Strikes again to make it happen lol.
Is this game Switch exclusive? If so that's awesome.
Suda51 thank you... I remember buying the duo for the Wii. Will brush them off and play . Love the Nintendo loyalty.
AND THE CROWD GOES WILD!!
I'll be getting this, no doubt about it.
This is going to be good and I will be getting this when it comes out.
Ok just port 1 and 2 and I am set!!!
No More Money
This is what I was waiting for, not that disappointing mess that was Travis Strikes Again.
Still have yet to beat 2 after all these years that final boss is hard.
So I guess that means Travis Strikes Again sold tens of millions of copies. I've got no reservations about this one though.
Already lookin better than TSA
@RevampedSpider Good game but doesn't had the same epicness as the first two. The game literally feels like a mini-game collection just with Travis thrown in and the gameplay is too generic. I'm glad Suda now returns him to what made him good in the first place.
Trust your Force and head into the Garden of Madness!
This shot straight to the top of my most-wanted list. No More Heroes 1 and 2 were my favorite action games of that era.
Might be my favourite game of the direct. Right from the opening shot of the trailer, knew it was NMH3. Hope it's better than Travis Strikes Again.
This was my game of the show. I am SO FREAKING HYPED and jacking my beam Katana with excitement. 😁😁😁
@iLikeUrAttitude I don't know just not that lol
@BenAV I hope they do. I have the first one, but never played the second one.
Yeashhhhh finally now put the other 2 in there as well, and put the other game 50% off and count me in
Travis was playing Ape Out at the beginning of the trailer. Hopefully he can finish all the discs before NMH3 releases.
I loved the Star Wars reference right at the start of the video. "Is the Empire Striking back?"
I could tell from the first 3 words who that was! I’m ready for anime references and more toilet humor.
Can I say the F word given this is a No More Heroes article?
