Re: Super Meat Boy Releases on Switch This Year

@faint you can be lazy in one instance and then hard working on another. It's called Life. Mood swings. Wrong decisions. Or being an as*hole. That's what happened. They were as*holes, and later they split up and they're different people, and people change.

Of course working with Microsoft can suck, but it shows their way of thinking was wrong from the beginning. Don't make promises to make an exclusive WiiWare game and then screw it up so badly and think you won't be criticized. It's simple.

Re: Super Meat Boy Releases on Switch This Year

@faint correction - it wasn't even a timed exclusive it was supposed to be an actual console exclusive. That's how disgusting these guys were. Inexcusable nasty behavior.
https://www.gamingnexus.com/News/16465/Super-Meat-Boy-WiiWare-exclusive-no-more

Later on they actually said that Xbox actually sux and they NEVER will do anything with Microsoft ever again (watch the indie film) and that still didnt make them a little bit mindful of how they screwed the Wii. And WiiWare had amazing games. If you can't compress this "flash" game then you're incompetent. Period.

Re: Super Meat Boy Releases on Switch This Year

@faint why are you so touchy about it? (And so late too). They agreed with me that the lazy ones should have made a competent effort. It wasnt just being lazy. It was lying. The Nintendo version was supposed to come out first and then it never even came and they made a lousy excuse.

Re: Hands On: Watching Hulu on the Nintendo Switch

dumedum

No need for this. Switch is great because of its games. My 4 year old TV plays Netflix , Amazon and Hulu by itself so it's really a waste in that sense... Keep focusing on Games Nintendo and kick a*s.

And no , adding stuff is not always better if it wastes time and resources if Nintendo and especially if it makes the system restart slower etc. It's the fastest console now.

Re: Random: Say Goodbye To Miiverse With This Touching Tribute

Misunderstood piece of pure art. Ahead of its time, like centuries ahead. It sparked a creative genius in so many individuals around the globe. Kids. It was for the kid in all of us.

It was fun incarnated, it was social media without any of the ugly stuff - it was the direct line that exists nowhere else between the gamer and the developer and the publisher. And between the gamers themselves.

It was so beautiful, innocent and perfect, that maybe it's good that it's going away. Humanity doesn't deserve such a magnificent gift. It cannot understand it, it obviously cannot commercialize it, and it cannot truly enjoy it because of its limited brain capacity.

Never could I have imagined that there will a world beyond the game but game related which would be just as fun. This is what Miiverse was able to do - with works of art and funny images from different stages of the game appearing like flowers in a spring.

Springtime for gaming - that was Miiverse. And we are all today damaged, not whole.

@JHDK or it says a lot about how good Switch sales are doing.

About the browser debate stuff? I'm sure it will come eventually but I agree that I don't really want it.
I totally agree Wii U Browser was and IS awesome , and it's a very unique convenient way to browse the web, part of what makes the Wii U so cool in my opinion. But Switch is a different beast - putting a browser on it is like putting a browser on a tablet and there are millions of those, so I don't see that as a priority. I got Wii, Wii U and Switch all hooked up, I don't need any updates. Each with its charms.

Re: Super Meat Boy Releases on Switch This Year

@faint yes, it is clearly documented that they were lazy and incompetent. Everybody else did it just fine. The guys that make the bit trip games also agreed with me that they sucked and they should have been able to do it. THE NORTH REMEMBERS.

Re: Review: NBA 2K18 (Switch)

dumedum

Looks like a great game and hope they fix the bugs so I can buy it. Last 2K NBA I played seriously was on the Wii and the motion control was pretty cool. But at this point it would be stupid to buy this game on another console when you have a same experience portable game. Portable is always better and more fun.

Re: Doom Will Bring Hell to Switch This Holiday Season

dumedum

Hallelujah !! I think I've been waiting to this moment since I played Doom and Doom II on PC and when I later switched to Nintendo... Waited for a ninty version. And now it's portable. Like it should be . It finally happened. And Wolfenstein! What a great day

Re: Review: Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition (Switch)

Getting the "exclusive" customs from PS, Vita and Xbox is really realyl cool I love that they were able to do it. Didn't expect much more improvement than that; especially because the dual playing ability of the Wii U IS better, it really is, but the game really feels like it was meant for a strong portable, so this is the definitive in that sense and really good to have.

@Nincompoop but they suck... nobody really wants to play more and more Assassin Creed.. I think they should bring some new experiences next.

@Cantisque DKCR and Donkey Kong on Wii U really demolishes both. It's much better than this, which is great too. But there's really no comparison.

Re: The Plug Will Finally Be Pulled On Miiverse In November

dumedum

Shame. It was a really cool feature.
It was used in brilliant ways in games like Shovel Knight. And it was so fun in Super Mario 3D World. It inspired so many people to draw beautiful or funny portraits of gaming's favorite characters.... It was so unique and such an efficacious system to communicate between gamers and developers directly.

Most importantly, it was a feature which had a core need that cannot be replaced by any other social media channel - this specific environment of fans ...

Visionary and perhaps ahead of its time, the closure represents a more no nonsense approach of the Switch era where games are King and you don't even need an internet browser.... But it will never be forgotten.

Re: Editorial: Is This a Golden Era of Gaming? Absolutely

dumedum

For me , and as much as I love Nintendo and will not own other videogame consoles, the Golden Era of gaming was Sierra and LucasArts, the days where they made King's Quest, Space Quest, Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island, Hero's Quest) and so on. Other games like Doom, Warcraft, C&C all came at the time, and also Duke Nukem II and that stuff, but this is nostalgia for you. DOS and Gameboy for me.

Re: Review: Splatoon 2 (Switch)

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Reviews have called the single player "competent single player mode". There are many games in the past where NL was actually below average. Each reviewer is different. If the Nintendo Life score would always be around the average, it would be completely boring, uninteresting and irrelevant.
