Re: Talking Point: Do We Still Need Review Scores?

daveh30

Gamers have proven time and time again we aren't mature enough to handle review scores. "Hurph durph, how dare you give this game that I haven't played a 9?! It clearly deserves a 10! I hope you die in a fire and rot in hell next to your whore of a mother!". <- every comment section of every review for every AAA game release ever. We're horrible excuses for human beings, when you get right to down it. Get rid of the scores, make people actually read the review instead of acting like children over a number.

Re: Minecraft's Aquatic Update Phase Two Gets Wet And Wild Today On Switch

I wish I could manage to still care about this game, because the Switch version is the version I would have killed for back when I was sinking hundreds of hours into Minecraft on PC. I bought the PS4 and Vita versions for the crossplay, only to find out it only really worked one way (Vita saves can transfer to PS4, but can't go back to Vita...). I bought the Switch version thinking the at home / on the go aspect I had wanted for so long would lure me back in, but I just can't get into it. That ship has sailed.

My son is super stoked for this aquatic update, though...

Re: Poll: Is Your Nintendo Switch Cracking Under The Pressure?

@MisterKorman I wouldn't necessarily call it negligence, I'd call it flat out abuse. In order for that vent area to be wide open like that picture, theres 4 grill bars need to removed. So each one had to crack at both ends. 8 individual cracks, 1 at the the end of each and every bar. That did not happen as result of heat while sitting in a dock. This was not a spontaneous occurence. (And in fairness, after checking his replies on that tweet just now, he doesn't claim it be a case of "Mah Switch broke itself!" like some of the others. He suspects younger brothers were involved. Having a younger brother myself, I'm prepared to call that one case closed)

@Damo I would believe that that spot may be a weak point that will be the first to give when abused, but not that those all just cracked spontaneously.

and the guy with the grill completely gone, if he tried to say he took any care of that console whatsoever, i'd flat out call him a liar to his face. That is the result of not caring enough to look after your toys.

Re: Poll: Is Your Nintendo Switch Cracking Under The Pressure?

nary a mark.

finding idiots on the internet capable of breaking something is not indicative of a problem with the product. The internet loves to break stuff and blame it on others... que the choruses of "but mahn broke itself! hurph durph"

edited for naughty language. My bad, forgot where I was there for a second.

Re: Nintendo Is Considering A Successor To The 3DS According To Its New President

daveh30

I think continuing to support 2 non-compatible systems would be a mistake. I'd rather see them retire the 3DS and expand the Switch lineup. Release a Switch Mini to cater to the entry level market, Christmas presents for children and such, and maybe add Switch Pro, with more storage and beefier specs when docked. I think the Mini would be the more important of the 2 to get to market, though.

That said, if Nintendo announces the HDS, or GameBoy HD, or anything of the sort, I'm gonna pre-order it, because I'm weak, and I have access to credit cards....

Re: Review: Lumines Remastered (Switch eShop)

I was in the Navy when the PSP version came out. This was my go to bed time game. Sooooo many hours laying in my rack at sea playing this. In a dark space, with the brightness cranked and headphones on... It's like being on a drug.

Re: Dataminer Finds Fortnite Update in Switch eShop

Couldn't get into Fortnite on PS4, but I didn't really give it much of a chance either. Definitely not chomping at the but for it on Switch (especially since it's on my PS4 and probably never touched for more than 30 minutes), but I'll give it another go.... I suppose.
