Even if I still enjoyed wrestling, which I haven't in about 20 years, i won't support 2K. There's no excuse for the busted ass crap they release, even if some of it does get fixed down the line.
I've been wanting to try this for a while, but I'd been hoping for an Android port. Price depending, I'll most likely be buying this. I've enjoyed everything else from RK / Atooi, they haven't let me down yet.
Genuinely looking forward to building these with my 8 year old. Disappointed, but not surprised, at all the folks who expect every announcement has to be aimed at them... especially when they specifically said it was going to be aimed at children. If you were expecting Smash, VC, or D-pad joycon, you were ignoring what you were be told and living in a dream world.
The "new way to play" line made me think it had to something hardware. The North American announcement says "interactive experience for Nintendo Switch", which definitely sounds like software. I'm leaning towards software...
As long as it keeps RCMADIAX and TreeFall off the Switch, I'll turn a blind eye. Soon as either of those hacks show up, there's no reason to deny anyone.
Sweet... Loved Stick Of Truth, and have been wanting to play this, but haven't touched my PS4 much since Switch came out. This is a day 1 buy for me if true
I'm really hoping for an achievement system and more robust activity tracking. Netflix would be nice. YouTube is okay. Couldn't care less about web browsers, Facebook, Twitter, etc...
I was expecting mostly ports, so that was fine, but I was really hoping for info on a major system update... UI update, and I'm still holding out hope for an achievement system...
Well it's not like he can say anything else... Even if he knows this year is gonna be slower, he cant exactly tweet "Hope you enjoyed it, because this year will disappoint in comparison!" He'd be out of a job pretty quick. I hope he knows about some exciting news coming down the pipe, but I won't read too much into this tweet...
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Woolly World and Mario Maker are terrible examples. those were not successful games from a currently supported system being ported over, those were games from a dead platform being given a fair shot on hardware that people actually owned. I loved my Wii U and all, but lets be honest, there weren't many of us who did. Hyrule Warriors, given the time between the Wii U and 3DS releases, is a better example, but it also wasn't developed by Nintendo. they probably had get it on another platform to give Koei Tecmo the return on investment they promised them.
If we're gonna get ports of the 2D games rather than a new one, I'd prefer Phantom Hourglass and/or Spirit Tracks. Been kicking myself for ages for trading those in back when I was a poor college student. Rough times...
So... Honest question.... I have no knowledge whatsoever about graphic design or any artsy stuffs... What's he tracing at the beginning? I'm sure it's all very impressive if you understand what he's actually doing, but for some of us who don't, it just kinda looks like tracing and auto filling colours...
There's also an NBA Playgrounds Enhanced Edition that was part of the update today. Anyone know what the difference is from the previous release? It's quite a bit cheaper...
I have an Ouya and a couple of controllers... Now I'm almost kinda tempted to pick up an extra Pro Controller and shoehorn the guts into an Ouya controller. Little expensive, but wouldn't be too hard... Could make a fun little project.
I know it won't happen, but I still think it's criminal we never got Virtual Boy VC on 3DS. C'mon Nintendo, give us a handful of VB VC titles as a last hurrah for 3DS VC!
For Switch, I'd love to see a system wide achievements system. Other than that, keep the games coming (Luigi's Mansion, please and thank you.... 3, or Game Cube remaster... Either would be fine)
I much preferred the shrines and smaller dungeons in BotW. It helped alot with the pacing of the game. I find past Zelda games get bogged down in the dungeons. Most of them just drag on too long... especially that friggin' water temple...
I ordered the white joycon shells that Alex showed back in the summer, from this same company. When mine arrived, they came with the replacement Phillips head screws, but I decided not to use them and just reused the original tri-wings. Glad I did. Haven't had any issues with them, and I really like them.
And to wade into the ongoing discussion, the Pro Controller's D-pad is trash, easily the worst Nintendo has ever made, and the individual buttons on the joycon are infinitely better. Pro-controller is a great controller for anything that uses the analogue sticks, but if I'm going for a D-pad, I use the joycon.
Switch retail: BotW gets the edge over Odyssey Switch eShop: Golf Story. 3DS retail: Metroid was the only one I bought this year, so... 3DS eShop: Chicken Wiggle. All day, everyday.
I would've had Mario + Rabbids top 5, and LA Noire snuck in somewhere around the bottom of the list, but a good list overall. Definitely agree with the top 3.
I was really hoping to see this game come in around $14.99 CDN, but figured that was a long shot. I expected $19.99US, which would put it at $26 or $27 CDN. $9.99 US pre-purchase should put it right around $13ish CDN... That's a friggin' awesome price for these games! Besides making great games, Atooi / Renegade Kid always seem to get it right with the Loyalty and Pre Purchase discounts. Definitely top of the list of my favorite indie devs.
Picked up DOOM VFR, so looking forward to playing that after the kids go to bed. Still picking away at LA Noire on Switch, and Wolfenstein 2 on PS4. Probably play a bit of Mario with the kids, too.
Switch has had a great software lineup for year 1. BOTW and Odyssey alone would have been impressive, but throw in MK8D, Splat2n, and 3rd party support from R*, Bethesda, and Ubisoft, and it's been an amazing first year. Hopefully Nintendo didn't blow their wad and has lots in store for next year, and we'll see continued 3rd party support. If the software keeps coming, there's no reason the hardware shouldn't keep moving
That commentary is nauseating. I used to love wrestling games, but they don't seem to have gotten any better since the N64 days. Or maybe I've just out grown them.
Haven't played this before, mostly just because it always seemed like too big a time commitment... But the portability factor of the Switch makes games like this much more appealing for me. So much else out right now, I think I'll end up waiting for a sale or price cut for Skyrim, though. $80 Canadian is steep...
Just got home with my physical copy of LA Noire. For those who are curious, you can start to play the game without additional download, no idea how much of the game is actually playable without though. When you load up from the cartridge without the download there is a pop up that states that a download of 6.45GB is required "to unlock the full experience", which would be much more palatable than the 14GB listed on the packaging and stated in pre-release materials. Downloading now, we'll see how it turns out...
EDIT: The final install to the SD card ended up being 13.1GB. the 6.45Gig mentioned in the game must have been a compressed download file. Too bad...
My analysis, based on Platinuming the game on PS4, and now having played half the campaign on Switch: it's stupid fun, and pixel counters and FPS snobs are missing the entire point.
