Prominent racing games are in limited supply right now on the Switch. Outside of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, there aren’t many other options when it comes to burning rubber in docked or portable mode. V-Rally 4 is on the horizon, but with the Need for Speed franchise currently on hiatus, street racers have been thrown out onto the curb.
Fortunately, it looks like Super Street: The Game by Motor Trend Group is here to fill the void. Based on the real-life magazine and lifestyle brand, the title has appeared on the GAME website. As there’s been no official announcement, little is known about the game other than the provided description:
THE FIRST OFFICIAL SUPER STREET GAME
Get ready to experience Super Street right from your home! Evolved from a magazine to a lifestyle brand, we bring you the next step: the first official Super Street game. This arcade race game will bring you everything that you love about Super Street: from cars and technology to the passion to become a legendary street racer!
BUILT FOR THE GREASEMONKEYS
One of the core features of the Super Street game is that you start from scrap! As you progress, you’ll be able to collect parts from tons of authentic brands and build your ultimate ride. In Super Street you don’t buy your ride, you build it.
Take it to the streets and tear up the asphalt in a wealth of different game modes and environments. Super Street: The Game offers intense action-packed classic arcade racing pushing your car to the limit. Own the streets as you leave behind a trail of spectacular and detailed destruction.
GAME is taking pre-orders for physical copies right now, with the title priced at £44.99 and apparently releasing in the UK on 30th November.

The racing genre is getting crowded on Switch. Although they are mostly kart racers. So the Switch could stand to see more realistic-ish racers. Sony has GT, MS has Forza, Nintendo has...Wave...Race?
I want Burnout on Switch. Stupid EA...
I've put about 20 hours into Gear.Club Unlimited on Switch. Not a terrible game, really its biggest problem is a 30fps cap and some slow loading times. Perfectly competent racer.
I hate to add to the long list of "they should port this from Wii U" games, but Need for Speed: Most Wanted U was really great and would make an excellent addition to the Switch lineup. I'd say it has about a 1% chance of ever happening.
Gear.Club Unlimited is a fine racer. Not the best but it's not trash either.
@justin233 OH you just reminded me of the remaster that came out. I gotta add it to the wish list
I can play better Racing games from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
This looks good. The riced out Charger gives me hope.
I feel pretty good for sci-fi and kart racers (though yeah, F-Zero, where the hell are you), but I agree that some more realistic racers would be very welcome. This might be fine or might not, but getting some Burnout on there would be choice, and I agree that a Switch port of the Wii U NFS: Most Wanted wouldn't hurt.
"Based on the real-life magazine and lifestyle brand..."
You know this game will suck.
Hopefully, there's Switch in-game screenshots and video coming soon
Just give me Starfox Grand Prix, SEGA Rally HD and Daytona HD and I'll be happy.
@Anti-Matter lucky you dont have to play it then
"Lifestyle brand"
Yeah, I'll wait for reviews before I take this seriously. I trust that they might know their cars, but I'm worried about their lack of experience in actual game development.
I can settle for kart and sci-fi racers for now.
a probably racing game that looks like the Originals Classics Need For Speed games style (1994-2002) / Test Drive / Asphalt?
If so, then I want more info soon and quickly on my wish list and the first one in pre-order!!
edit:
Wait, Wait, ..., Wait what?, Super Street magazine is about "Tuning" cars?!, oh well..., I'm not against the lifestyle of tuning, buuuuut....., I have mixed feelings with that and its arrival in the franchise of NFS (NFS Underground ....)
@Nincompoop
Need For Speed and Road & Track want to have a conversation with you.
I’ll take it.
Nice! This is the kind of game I have been asking for!
The system desperately needs some good arcade style racers. I know not much can be told from a single screenbshot, but thisd single screenshot doesn't look good.
I'm Super Street: The Gameplayer.
Aaaand I will let myself out.
I would like to have an HD remaster of the best racing sinulation game ever.
Need for speed: Porsche unleashed!
Hope it's good, as it's a severely overlooked genre on switch.
@Magician where are all these racers?! I can't find one that's good and on par with MK
It looks fine but there's one thing with these Street racing games I hate... No traffic in the roads!
@ReaderRagfish yeah cmon Ninty! It's been 15 years! Team up with Sega and make SX!
Anyone else remember World Driver Championship on the N64? Loved that game. Would love to see something in that vein on the Switch...
@ReaderRagfish I was thinking about it lately. It would be awesome. I hope Nintendoit
@Cosats agree
Arcade racers as a genre seems to have all been but abandoned on all platforms in the past few years. The PS3 era had some crackers, but
the PS4 is seriously lacking. Gear Club on the Switch is good, but the Switch needs great racers, other than Mario Kart. Hopefully the rumor about Ridge Racer being developed for the Switch is true.
@justin233
same here. burnout3..
I'd like to see the "Ride" series of motorcycle racing make its way to switch.
@sword_9mm I’d take 3 or Paradise. I’m not picky - I just want portable Burnout!
@justin233
i'm right there with you. wasn't a fan of the paradise open world but if that's all i could get that's better than nothing.
I can already burn rubber on my Switch... I just play it docked! Heyooo!
@justin233 I would actually love a remake of the original. Still think it's the best Burnout to date. Fantastic racer.
