Re: Video: Here's How The Witcher 3 On Switch Compares To The PS4 Version

@sanderev they compare it to the PS4 version because it's a known benchmark. Yes, they could just show just the Switch version, and comment just in its performance, but the point of the video is to investigate what concessions they made to get the game running on Switch. If you only care that games runs in an acceptable state, that's totally fine. Some people who are interested in the technical side want to see how it was done. It's not pS4 fanboyism, it's informative.

Took a lot of playing, but I got it working on PSVR... Not quite the same setup as using PSVR for "cinema mode" for an external source.

Unplug the HDMI cable that comes from the PS4 into the VR breakout box from the breakout box, leave that slot empty. On the front of the breakout box, the double HDMI cable that plugs into the headset, unplug the right side and plug that into the Switch dock. Run another hmdi cable from the port on the breakout box you just unplugged to the tv. Leave everything else plugged in.

PS4 needs to be turned on to turn on the headset, and it won't output to the tv, but it works in the headset. There's no head tracking, but that makes BotW more playable.

Turn in the VR mode on the switch before you dock it, the screen is garbled in the headset without it in this setup.

@Itzdmo
"What are the alternatives If the entire game won't fit on Nintendos cartridges?"

That has never been a problem There are NO Switch games that will not fit on the currently available 32GB game cards that Nintendo offers. The issue with games that only have part of the game on the card is that publishers are CHOOSING to put the game on a smaller card to save money. It's Nintendo's fault for allowing the practice, but it is not and has never been a hardware limitation.

I usually opt for physical releases when available, but a game being digital only does not upset me in the slightest. could not care less. That being said, I don't understand the point of selling an empty case. Just avoid all the drama from the drama queens and make the cover available as a printable PDF file and those that want the case on their shelf can print it off and throw it in a case.
