Re: Soapbox: Game Reviews Always Need a Final Score

Scores aren't needed. We all know reviews are opinions so you're best off finding a site which generally agrees with your views.
A review could be summed up in two points.
1) Is a game is worth playing/buying?
2) Give it a comment: spiffing, mediocre or horrendous.

Re: Feature: Breaking Down the My Nintendo Loyalty Economy

Getting towards worst case scenario for me. I don't download much at all (certainly not often enough for the points to not have expired) and always try to choose physical. But having said, that I appreciate that nintendo is at least trying to run a rewards scheme (even if it's not a very good one.)

Re: Review: World Driver Championship (N64)

I wanted to love this game but it was just too flawed. The AI is awful, shunting you off the driving line (which they never, ever deviate from). I resorted to plenty of ramming since that was what happened to me so much. It was fun to sometimes get an enemy car to crash because then it would spend the rest of the race not being able to reverse.

Re: 3DS to Continue as a 'Major Pillar' of Nintendo's Business

I feel sad my 3ds doesn't have that much headed for it (unless I want another RPG). Having said that, I was disappointed to see that when my son played Mario Paper Jam over Christmas the game kept telling him how much greater it would be if he owned amiibos. Those sorts of games I can do without.

Re: Talking Point: Considering amiibo Features and the Reality of 'Physical DLC'

This makes me feel so old fashioned. I don't even like downloading games since I have no way of getting rid of them if I don't like them. As for amiboo I can't wait for the toys to life bubble to shatter. I know they'll just think of some alternative dlc but when I buy a game I expect the price to reflect the game. If its got locked content I want a reduced price not made to feel I have to purchase some plastic tat to get the whole experience.

Re: Talking Point: 2015 - A Peculiar Year of New, Old and Surprising Nintendo Games

"It may simply just continue to make the games it thinks are the most fun and see what happens" but did it really, honesty think that Amiibo Festival was the most fun? I can't help but wonder if it didn't just smack of desperation to get something onto the shelves.

I have a lot of sympathy for the Codename Steam team. I bought it and loved it. It made me laugh and had me gripped. I would love to see the series continued although I expect that it is dead.

Re: Hands On: Getting Pinned Down By Nintendo Badge Arcade

It's ok, I suppose. I know Ninty is, just like all companies, there to make money. However, this effort feels a lot more cynical than most. Apparently, I am the only one who finds the rabbit really irritating. I don't want a manipulative, pink rabbit trying to befriend me and then telling me to spend real money.
