Grant seems like a top chap, speaks honestly and doesn't get people's hopes up. I think he rang into an adgq a few years ago while banjo was being speed run (or was it dk64?). Still, I hope it does make a return.
In the meantime, there's a fabulous looking fan version being released this month. So there are still lots of jiggies to find
My 12 year old has subscribed for 3 months with the basic package. So far he's not that impressed. We've played a little 2 player together but the UI is poor and a lot of the multiplayer games are take turn games, rather than simultaneous, so it's taking us a while to sift through it all.
Star Wars Battle for Naboo on n64 had a very cool cheat code where, when you played a level, the developers would discuss various aspects of it. Sort of dvd ish and, I think, unique amongst n64 games.
I'm nominating the game Stability; regular updates, great graphics and an outstanding soundtrack. The only criticism I can make is that the gameplay is lacking.
It's something I can live with. I'm hoping to put as many of my (xbox) reward points towards it as possible. So at least it gives me more time to earn them.
Great article! I remember buying this from Game in Durham and getting a free 3rd party controller and guide book. Happy days.
Also a fascinating glimpse into Rare. I recall being surprised people wanted to leave the company back then but, reading this, it becomes clearer. Still, it's an amazing game and all who worked on it deserve huge credit.
If the one person island thing, is a game breaker for some, then they should be able to give whatever score they want. If that's 0, then so be it. People researching the game can read the pro reviews and get a balanced opinion.
This review comes to us exactly a year before Cambridge Analytica Day ... sorry that should be Brexit Day, when the rich and powerful will laugh long and loud!
@WillTheLion
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I have no doubt that it is a great game. Also I appreciate what you are saying about it being a fine game without any amiibo. However, if you are a completist, it must be pretty frustrating to know that 4 amiibo are needed to unlock everything. I know that I'm just too old and yes, I long for the days when what players bought was a complete game and skill (or cheat codes!) unlocked the hidden content. But why should anyone pay for plastic figures to complete a game?
@Anti-Matter Whilst @SLIGEACH_EIRE is expressing his views in his customary forthright manner, try not to see it as a slight on you or others who buy amiibo. Personally, I think they are a complete rip off and a waste of our planet's precious resources but I don't mind other people enjoying them. Possibly, SLIGEACH_EIRE has similar views but does it really matter if he doesn't? I find the entire locked content thing sickening. It is the single reason why I won't buy the new Metroid game.
@bannedin60second
Given your user name, I suppose it's likely you are deliberately writing inflammatory comments. Whilst @SLIGEACH_EIRE may express views you take issue with, he has not taken to criticizing the authors who disagree with his opinions.
Looks really nice but not keen on the amiibo locked content. It just highlights again the problems with amiibo. Why have those upgrades behind a pay wall?
I think it's a bit cheeky trying to sell the streetpass stuff at any price considering all the hotspots in the uk (except Game) have been shut down.The most fun element of each game is now gone. It's very very rare that I get any hits when I carry my 3ds around.
If they do this then they are losing out on all the people like me who are not interested in the Switch but missed the snes and are therefore wanting a snes mini. There are probably only a few of us but surely selling out of minis is more profit than not selling switches!

I'm certain Ninty's had a chat with scalpers and come to an arrangement.
Re: A Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Fan Has Created A Super Mario 64-Inspired DLC Expansion
It's cool. But why hasn't Ninty shut it down? I don't get why they can allow this. And that music sounds awfully familiar.

$4 billion eh? Right, let's have a whip-round. I'm UK based and I've got 37p (not sure how much that is in USD but it's a start).

"some SNES Mini buyers will be Switch owners, but I would estimate a good number won't be"
Spot on. I don't have a Switch and can't afford one. I missed the Snes first time around so this selection of games would fill the void.
