@Dualmask try Into The Breach if you haven't. The small scale incredibly intense battles have filled my strategy interest and taken the place of advance Ward and its clones.
I keep my controllers in perfect condition and still use my original Wavebirds.
The 3 left launch day joy cons I have all exhibit this issue. The two I bought since are fine.
I've always said Nintendo hardware is much better than of the shelf brands. Not this time! I've been calling these things junk since a few months after they came out (check my posts!)
I played each of the Party events to level 10 and am very sad they won't occur anymore . You'd think they could just keep them going with a skeleton crew.
Of the 40+ Switch games we have this is the second most played after BotW.
I'm actually surprised by that fact, because I near HATED the game the first 10+ hours I played it. It doesn't play like a fighter, and I always felt behind the curve. Once I got over the curve, which for me meant watch the shoulders, NOT the arms, I started to really enjoy myself.
ARMS is unique in its gameplay and visually wonderful! I don't regret getting ARMS, I just wish more people had.
@Oubie - If you want to put in the time, yes! Civ is crazy deep, you could play for hundreds of hours and still be learning. That said, if you put it on the easiest setting and leave tips on, you'll learn as you go, and the longer the play the more you'll realize you can do. I particularly liked the scenarios in this one, the settling of Australia scenario was a great short version of the game. I hadn't played Civ for years, and was blown away again by just how enjoyable the game is. I can't recommend it enough!
Not ONE LEGO game? I personally think the LEGO Star Wars on Wii remains the best of the group, but there are plenty of good LEGO movie adaptations that are good or great (LEGO Pirates is a guilty pleasure of mine).
The only worthy thing to say about EA is that they should be boycotted across the industry.
Until fans choose not support them, they will continue to do what they are doing, which is not caring AT ALL. No passion for development, no love for games, just money.
The answer is easy. Do not support EA. On any platform in any way. I started that philosophy years ago and don't miss them. They make nothing I can't live without. My backlog is plenty big without them.
They pull this stuff because they hate Nintendo and its fans. They love making money off of them while doing nothing. Don't put up with that! Have some self-respect!
THIS!! ---> Contra ReBirth was the WiiWare game. Contra 4 was the WayForward developed DS game. Both are sorely missing...
Contra ReBirth was a lot of fun (and wasn't a remake, just to clear up a misconception - it was a completely original game...I mean as original as Contra gets).
Famitsu also saw the team (co-op) racing as the highlight of the title and had a lot of good things to say about it.
That said, I really disliked the last Sonic racing game, and hearing about performance issues on the PS4 almost guarantees a poor framerate on Switch.
I just got Chase Horizon Turbo on sale and am LOVING it, so in a year or two when Sonic racing is $10 I may check out if the co-op mode is fun in Sonic. For now I'll go back to Chase Horizon (and I'll hope for Burnout Paradise or Need For Speed Most wanted to miraculously make it to Switch).
I love Zelda, and the clones always make me wish I was playing Zelda.
Looking forward the the Zelda game(s) this year, and still enjoying replaying Wind Waker and others of past years.
Here's an idea - what about a LEGO Nintendo game? It could have Mario levels, Zelda levels, Starfox levels, and the ability to unlock characters across all the games. ...I think it would be much better than many of these clones...
Chicken Wiggle was supposed to release last year, but now that he has the Kickstarter money it may not even make it this year, because he's busy working on other games instead.
Planet Alpha - has a demo, and it's barely worth playing.
Football Heroes Turbo - is a great game I haven't seen anyone talk about. Great combo of old-school Tecmo Bowl with modern design (player cards + leveling) and a touch of Blitz (punching, oh so much punching!)
Not a 'hidden' gem, but I've been LOVING BoxBoy + BoxGirl. As a co-op platform puzzle game I am so, so happy with it!
I have the R-Type on Switch that includes 1 & 2. I haven't played 2 yet, I think, though I love RType 1 more than any other shmup, I'm just no longer interested in the genre. The 'newer graphics' included w/RType 1 also were really disappointing - not the graphics themselves, but that the game played differently with movement and enemy location feeling very different. It was the polar opposite of the updated Monster Boy the Dragon's Trap.
@BulbasaurusRex good list of games that I know well! MVP is legendary, but I felt the games were too long, though I loved how throwing worked on defense to provide risk and reward.
I love Baseball Stars, but I gotta say this year's RBI is better than Baseball Stars 2 (which I own on Wii along with Power Pros).
Honestly, I think if you're looking for a fun to play baseball game, this year's RBI hits the spot well. The gameplay is solid and a lot of fun.
Last year's review was unfair, this year I think the score is off, but otherwise it's a decent review.
I don't have the time to get into the show, but am an avif baseball fan who has bought several dozen baseball games over the years.
Baseball Stars NES and the High Heat series on PC (NOT console) remain my favorites, but honestly, this year's RBI comes in high on the list.
It plays well, is super fun, visually good, and well, I'm honestly loving it. It's everything I wanted Baseball Advance (GBA) to be.
I strongly recommend it, except one issue - I get stutters and frame rate drops each game in the later innings.
There are bugs that are frustrating, like the time a foul ball to the dugout was ruled a hit, which made me lose a game, but mostly I just can't wait to play another game... Except for those stutters... I'm hoping for a patch for those.
If you like baseball, and are not playing the show, I highly recommend RBI! You'll find this year's version is a really fun baseball game to play at home and on the go.
ARMS - is the game I've played online the most - every party crash I pull it back out. It remains the game I feel is least appreciated on the Switch - due to it's brutal early learning curve. I'm glad they are continuing to do Party Crashes - they have plenty of people playing them.
MK8 - I played a good bit online, and can humbly say I'm insanely good at the game, but the cheaters make things frustrating online. Watching someone fire a blue shell at the start line, right as the race begins, before we've even gotten to the power-ups is frustrating and happens more often than it should.
Rocket League - such a disaster online. I really liked it local, played 30 hours with friends and family, then went online and stopped playing the game altogether. I've never seen worse match-making in my life.
Not interested. If that style of game appealed to me I'd own an Xbox. I can't stop rolling my eyes at the dialogue and power-tripping game play. Enjoy!
It's not as good as the other games and suffers from having 11 stories instead of a big story. They pull them together at the end, when the game finally hits its stride.
The puzzles are too simple and the mobile phone roots of the title hurt it. Also, the main characters are nowhere near as interesting as the Professor!
Overall, good to have if you love the series, but by far the weakest Layton game.
Pre-ordered on Best Buy! I have most every link including both from Wind Waker, the Ocarina one & Skyward Sword. My favorite is the Majora's Mask one (and it had the best in-game armor unlock in Breath of The Wild).
The Nintendo life review of RBI was one of the most uninformed reviews I've ever read.
As someone who loved the NES Baseball Stars, and played the heck out of the original RBI Baseball, this new game is just what I want, and I've put a lot of hours into it.
It isn't MVP Baseball, MLB the show, or anything that performs like a Sim. It isn't deep in strategy and team management (however it is more Sim than those NES titles mentioned above by miles).
Having played dozens of baseball games over the years, I'd say the RBI of today plays most like RBI baseball of the NES era out of any game I've played.
I think the negativity towards this series is largely unfair (at least it is unfair starting last year, pre last year RBI was pretty crappy!)
For me I'm stoked we get the game in March.
I'll buy it digital on day one because I want it always available on my system.
I'm looking forward to it with gusto!
I bought Super Mega Baseball last year waiting for the much delayed RBI. Super Mega had skill and charm, it's very good, but the mix of arcade and simulation in RBI wrapped up in games you can play in under a half hour is EXACTLY what I'm looking for.
RBI has its issues, but it is A MUCH better game than some say.
At the end of the day, if you want a proper complex Sim, this isn't the game for you. The Show is like NBA 2k, if that is what you want you'll be disappointed with RBI.
If you want an arcade game that captures light Sim features, RBI is a great game.
The first game has kept me from buying the second. Pressing steal on defense usually leads to no visual change on the screen. It only shows a steal animation if you time it right, otherwise you can spam the steal button and see your player not respond on screen.
NBA jam is fluid on defense, playgrounds is all offense.
Playgrounds looks good, but having played many hours of each, playgrounds is a poor imitation of Jam, and don't get me started on how bad the commentary is in playgrounds. I turn off the sound because it is so bad.

There is NO game I play more than Mario Kart. On EVERY platform for decades.
...and I have ZERO expectation this will be good. Mario Kart minus the controller is no fun. Tilt is ok, tilting the screen and taking away physical buttons is NOT ok. Mario Run on mobile proved just why mobile is not worthy of such great IP as Mario, the mobile experience does not measure up at all.
I wish Nintendo would make Advance Wars for Mobile, and/or other games where being forced to use touch controls don't ruin the game.

I love this year's RBI (play it before you hate it - it's actually good this year).
That said, this is a day one pickup for me - Super excited!
Re: US Law Firm Opens "Switch Joy-Con Drift" Class Action Investigation

This is just physical, I'd guess the digital sales are a less "gift to kids"-y list.
Civ 6 for me had been the best 3rd party I've bought, among many. Happy to have NBA 2K as well.

Re: Feature: The Best Racing Games On Nintendo Switch

Not yet.
The WiiU, with Most Wanted, has better racing games than the Switch.
Looking forward to that changing!

RBI Baseball, pre-ordered.
Can't wait!
Last year was so much fun and such a huge improvement over previous years.

Noooooooo!
I've been waiting forever for this!

Moto Heroz on WiiWare was great btw. From the Trials Dev.

Played through it on the 3ds.
Re: Ken, Daisy And Young Link amiibo All Release This April

Football Heroes Turbo should be included in one of these (if you aren't giving it a full review).
It is much better than many games that have gotten reviews and is worthy of people's time.
