I have it and 2K18, and I'll probably get 2K20...but not until later when the constant daily updates are done. Adding something to the vanity store in one mode shouldn't require an update of my current game when NOTHING changed in the mode I'm playing. After the season they stop doing the daily updates - that's my target purchase window.
Played most of these back in the day, at least the ones I cared to play.
I turned on "Demon's Crest" based on the NL review - I just died over and over again before leaving the first room, definitely not for me. I played ~30 minutes of Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts and LOVED the ability to rewind time. It makes that game enjoyable instead of uber frustrating.
I tried tennis for a few seconds, but quickly lost interest.
I may go back for Zelda or Mario, but I'd rather play a modern Zelda or SM Maker 2. The NES and SNES offerings aren't quite doing it for me.
...but then if they choose some of the cult favorites like Rygar and Baseball Stars on NES, or ActRaiser on SNES, my opinion would change greatly. As it is, I've played these games in their original form, on the Wii, on the 3DS, on the WiiU... They are great games, don't get me wrong, but I wish there was more variety or that they'd pull in more forgotten favorites. I mean, why hasn't Contra NES ever been on VC? It was a HUGE game back in the day, but never on VC.
After yesterday's Nintendo Direct I felt like the part of Nintendo was being played by Sony or MS - so much sameness I dropped into the depths of despair.
...but no worries, now I can exer-game my way back to happiness!
"The question is can I use these controllers for other non SNES games?"
That is the question I want to know the answer to as well. I've bought 5 sets of JoyCons (STUPID BLASTED DRIFT!). I'd love to replace them with something that works consistently...
I like Trine, I LOVE 9 Parchments. I'm sure to get this, but likely after it goes on sale.
I really want to know how easy it is to play. The past Trine games felt so sloppy in controls. They're a mess of trying to make boxes and switch characters and angle your shield the right way while solving a puzzle that requires precision. They were fun to play and look at the visuals, but the gameplay has often bordered on ridiculously frustrating.
I don't know if they can fix that, but if so I might go for a day 1 buy instead of waiting 6 months to get it on sale.
I remember wanting to like Oceanhorn as a Zelda clone, but the game play. UGH! Why is it so hard to get the swinging of a sword right?
Looking forward to Link's Awakening - but I'm struggling to figure out how I can spend $60 on such a short game. On the other hand, I'm trying to figure out how I'll have time to play Dragon Quest.
I was most excited for multiplayer and the offline multilpayer represents Nintendo's single worst interface of all time.
1) Go online
2) Download Level
3) Go offline and find downloaded level
4) Click 'Play' - no, not that play button, the special one on the right that doesn't look like it is even part of the screen
Online multiplayer is also a disaster, but the offline is inexplicable.
Why do you have to download a level before you can play it local multiplayer?
Why do the multiplayer online levels selected by Nintendo largely ignore the multiplayer tag and play levels for single player (and single player levels online ignore multiplayer and give them to you anyway?)
Why, why why!?
I'd gladly take my $60 back.
SOOO disappointed.
I much prefer the original.
I LOVE Image & Form, but couldn't convince myself to get this one. It looked downright boring, and the reviews for the game often used the words "grind" and "repetitive."
Those are big turn-offs for me. I don't have enough gaming time to grind (Pokemon is too grindy for me).
I read this article hoping that somehow those issues would be resolved, but nope.
I LOVED Dig and really liked Dig 2. Heist was my absolute favorite, I played through it a 2nd time with completely different characters and liked it more than the first time.
I look forward to their next game and hope they simplify back to the early greatness of Dig 1 and Heist. The newer games are getting a bit over-complicated and a touch on the boring side.
@joey302 RBI 19 is worth a try, especially when the yearly sales come around.
Again, not for everyone, but the hitting and fielding are much better this year, if you want to play with MLB players it's worth checking out.
RBI has been getting incrementally better each of the last two years and this year crossed the line into 'good' territory. I personally think RBI is now better than Baseball Stars 2, though probably not as good as the NES Baseball Stars. (In my opinion)
Reviews on Steam highlight bad handling over and over. I was hopeful it might handle better on Switch (hopeful, but probably a silly hope).
I really wish NFS: Most Wanted was on Switch. I can play it on the WiiU, but would love a high quality on-the-go racer. Looks like I will have to keep waiting for something great. (or even halfway great)
I do like Horizon Chase Turbo, but I didn't stick with it very long and have a tendency to forget it, but it was at least mediocre (as opposed to the rest of the racers on Switch which aren't even that good).
@Dualmask try Into The Breach if you haven't. The small scale incredibly intense battles have filled my strategy interest and taken the place of advance Ward and its clones.
I keep my controllers in perfect condition and still use my original Wavebirds.
The 3 left launch day joy cons I have all exhibit this issue. The two I bought since are fine.
I've always said Nintendo hardware is much better than of the shelf brands. Not this time! I've been calling these things junk since a few months after they came out (check my posts!)
I played each of the Party events to level 10 and am very sad they won't occur anymore . You'd think they could just keep them going with a skeleton crew.
Of the 40+ Switch games we have this is the second most played after BotW.
I'm actually surprised by that fact, because I near HATED the game the first 10+ hours I played it. It doesn't play like a fighter, and I always felt behind the curve. Once I got over the curve, which for me meant watch the shoulders, NOT the arms, I started to really enjoy myself.
ARMS is unique in its gameplay and visually wonderful! I don't regret getting ARMS, I just wish more people had.
@Oubie - If you want to put in the time, yes! Civ is crazy deep, you could play for hundreds of hours and still be learning. That said, if you put it on the easiest setting and leave tips on, you'll learn as you go, and the longer the play the more you'll realize you can do. I particularly liked the scenarios in this one, the settling of Australia scenario was a great short version of the game. I hadn't played Civ for years, and was blown away again by just how enjoyable the game is. I can't recommend it enough!
Not ONE LEGO game? I personally think the LEGO Star Wars on Wii remains the best of the group, but there are plenty of good LEGO movie adaptations that are good or great (LEGO Pirates is a guilty pleasure of mine).
The only worthy thing to say about EA is that they should be boycotted across the industry.
Until fans choose not support them, they will continue to do what they are doing, which is not caring AT ALL. No passion for development, no love for games, just money.
The answer is easy. Do not support EA. On any platform in any way. I started that philosophy years ago and don't miss them. They make nothing I can't live without. My backlog is plenty big without them.
They pull this stuff because they hate Nintendo and its fans. They love making money off of them while doing nothing. Don't put up with that! Have some self-respect!
THIS!! ---> Contra ReBirth was the WiiWare game. Contra 4 was the WayForward developed DS game. Both are sorely missing...
Contra ReBirth was a lot of fun (and wasn't a remake, just to clear up a misconception - it was a completely original game...I mean as original as Contra gets).
Famitsu also saw the team (co-op) racing as the highlight of the title and had a lot of good things to say about it.
That said, I really disliked the last Sonic racing game, and hearing about performance issues on the PS4 almost guarantees a poor framerate on Switch.
I just got Chase Horizon Turbo on sale and am LOVING it, so in a year or two when Sonic racing is $10 I may check out if the co-op mode is fun in Sonic. For now I'll go back to Chase Horizon (and I'll hope for Burnout Paradise or Need For Speed Most wanted to miraculously make it to Switch).
I love Zelda, and the clones always make me wish I was playing Zelda.
Looking forward the the Zelda game(s) this year, and still enjoying replaying Wind Waker and others of past years.

Re: GRID Autosport Speeds Onto Switch On September 19th
I love racers - will watch the reviews with excitement!
...and I wish it had come out at a different time. I'm sure between Zelda & DQ11 I will not be looking to get yet another game that particular week.

I'm glad they'll be doing more.
Re: NPD Reveals Top Five Best-Selling Zelda Games Of All-Time Within The US
I loved the music and graphics of Skyward Sword. LOVED!
I liked not pausing to use items during an intense boss fight. FUN!
I disliked the motion controls letting me down in swinging my sword art different angles. UGH!
I HATED the overworld feeling like a dungeon. It was super constraining and I hated the first 60 minutes of the game (super slow).
All that said, the Ancient Cistern dungeon in Skyward Sword is my all time favorite Zelda Dungeon.
I'm glad to have played through the game.

@joey302 did you play RBI this year? It is a very solid game this year that is really fun to play.
Not for everyone for sure, but I don't get the hate on it this year other than hate being a habit towards RBI.
Re: Review: Super Mega Baseball 2: Ultimate Edition - Finally, A Decent Baseball Sim On Switch
The perpetual dismissal of RBI Baseball isn't warranted this year, and is keeping a lot of people from playing a good game.
This one isn't bad either.
It also isn't a franchise focused baseball sim, so don't expect that and you'll be ok.

This is just physical, I'd guess the digital sales are a less "gift to kids"-y list.
Civ 6 for me had been the best 3rd party I've bought, among many. Happy to have NBA 2K as well.
