Why the hell does the digital version cost more? I get the physical copy costing more due to producing a cartridge/specific-size-box, but digitally? This better not become normal.
$3 a game isn't bad, and considering the extras, this collection is well worth it. Of course, someone cough will argue otherwise.
And the way they handled Pac Man Vs. and it's multiplayer is well designed and just also goes to show the effort they clearly put into this collection.
@MadAdam81 But Ingress isn't as popular as Pokemon Go (still good, but not as widespread, particularly during last summer), so the attendance for such an event would be higher, making it more difficult to run.
Glad to see they could clear up these issues, and launch not that far behind the other versions. I hope this doesn't put them off producing/releasing future titles (they did say they had more Switch projects in the works, if I recall correctly).
I can see why this lawsuit was opened, and, in theory, their argument stands. Whether or not it is accepted and tried in court is another story.
Niantic did promise certain luxuries upon purchasing a ticket, and, in whole, they did fail to meet some of them. One could sue them for fraud/misrepresentation, theoretically. In practice, however, their legal team could simply argue that what actually took place wasn't their fault nor intended, and, as a result, their lawsuit is bogus.
Definitely comes across as butthurt, however. Niantic had never done such an event, so, if I was even remotely interested, I would've been extremely cautious given their lack of experience of hosting stage events.
Jesus, a lot of games are launching in September. How many does that make now? Needless to say, the third party support really does seem to picking up around that time.
Nintendo need to restore functionality to the amiibo. Games like Smash Bros., Mario Tennis Ultra Smash, and Splatoon 2, all give the amiibo a purpose, asides from just unlocking stuff. In the first two, they unlocked NPCs to play with/against, and in Splatoon 2, it allows you to save a loadout of clothes/weapon/controls, along with unlocking gear.
And, from experience, the online is utter crap (which is a sentiment amongst many people right now, not just myself). Good job Saber, once again screwing over Nintendo fans.
@MagnaRoader I'm sure the game will be slightly smaller than that, since, most likely, the graphics will be a slight downgrade in comparison to the Xbox One/PS4 version.
Despite this, you still lose coins for dying, so the game does punish you somewhat. Losing all your coins would be a huge detriment, as you wouldn't be able to buy clothes, Power Moons or Hearts from the shop anyway, and you'd have to earn those coins back.
2D is the way forward for the series, so hopefully people buy this to encourage development of a sequel (or, in my dreams, a Knuckles Chaotix remaster)!
Whilst this article is vague in the worst places, and too subjective, and should've been an opinion piece - this, and other impressions, further cements the fact Sonic Team just cannot get a 3D game right consistently.
Another point worth mentioning is that the level design seems flat for pretty much almost every character type; whilst this impacts Modern Sonic the least it ruins Classic Sonic and Avatar Stages.
Slippery control aside, the whole thing is a shockingly amateur affair, and should be a wake-up call for Sonic fans - 3D games just don't work well. 2D is the way forward for Sonic.
At least Mania looks good - no; amazing - no; outstanding. Honestly, they should give that team a shot at a 3D Sonic game. They'd probably do better. Give them a decent budget and time (something Sega doesn't give enough of) and I'm sure they'd make a decent product..
I might get League of Evil since it has a level editor. Always happy when a level editor is included and done right since it opens the door to infinite UGC (user generated content).
I predict we'll be seeing the app (which was leaked as the "Nintendo Switch Online Lounge"), more single player, more maps, weapons, and other small features, like LAN and split-screen play.
@RedMageLanakyn @SLIGEACH_EIRE Yeah, they probably do. Since you can grab them from the side they most likely pull out with a tab. I mean, it's not ideal, but it helps to make the console look more authentic when on a shelf not being used, which is no doubt helpful for collectors.
Also that confirms then that the console will only support two controllers at one time, meaning that games like Secret of Mana are gonna be awkward, since they have 3 player functionality with the Multitap, yet that can't be used, so I wonder how that game will play now.
@FTL I just hope the two games don't run at a poor framerate, by perhaps emulating an overclocked Super FX chip instead, since, let's be honest, I think we'd all rather play Star Fox /+2 at something closer to 30fps, even if it isn't perfect.
Of course, Yoshi's Island didn't use the Super FX chip heavily so it wouldn't be an issue there.
@Hikingguy I am aware about the difference in philosophy from then versus now. It doesn't change the fact that games such as Ninja Gaiden aren't as appealing as they once were due to their purposely difficult design attempting to (back then) make the game longer. It was never fair to be knocked off a platform and be forced to start a level over due to an obstacle you couldn't see back then, and it still isn't now. I can understand this, but to the average consumer, they may not, and may just give up.
This is why I feel the Mini SNES is more appealing; there are more multiplayer titles, and the emphasis isn't so much on arcade-style experiences but longer, more thoughtful, well designed games instead, which, I understand, is generally due to the types of games released on the platform.
I'm very excited, in particular, to try Star Fox 2, see how well the emulation for Yoshi's Island (given the Super FX chip) is and play games like Secret of Mana and Earthbound, which I've never tried until now. Here's hoping they have enough stock.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE What's wrong with Kirby? If you're talking about Dream Course, then yeah, seems like a strange inclusion, probably to fill out the multiplayer games on the console.
Look at comments from 2 years ago, it's really interesting to see what people wanted from the Star Fox franchise at that time. Now, I wonder how many of them would react now knowing SF2 is being officially released.
This lineup, while smaller, is more appealing, because, whilst the NCM:NES had 30 titles, a lot of them were bad, particularly for their difficulty. I believe the price is also higher because of the fact you get 2 controllers and that you are paying for essentially an all-new game (Star Fox 2).
Come on Sega, how did you screw something as simple as emulation up? Thankfully the Sonic 1 port isn't affected since it's just the previous version, now just free-to-play.
Strange choice of platform, but if they're made on Unity a port, like ACA NeoGeo, could be really quick and easy for them and could act as another form of "Virtual Console", just not by Nintendo.
Strangely enough though, I can't find these on the UK App Store. Perhaps it's not out yet over here?
Decent results, which are very similar to Splatoon when it debuted back in 2014. That game has now sold over 1 million in Japan; will ARMS do the same thing? I hope so.

I'm more surprised about Miitopia's debut. Not bad, though I'm more interested in seeing how long it stays in the charts.

@Aerona Agreed.

Re: Sonic Forces Listed On EB Games For 7th November Release
I'll wait and see on this game. I'll probably pick it up around Christmas, after I (most likely) complete Super Mario Odyssey.
I'm not going to bash this game, but I'm not going to assume it's fantastic either.

Nice to see they're decent dedicated and behind the platform. I liked the game when it first launched back on PC, and I may just pick it up again.
Hopefully their next project ends up on the Switch.
