LEGO fans have always had plenty of games to enjoy on Nintendo hardware, and so far the Switch has also been getting in on the action. One that was previously confirmed to be on the way is the world-building LEGO Worlds, and now it has a firm release date.
It'll arrive in North America on 5th September and Europe on 8th September; the $39.99USD price point is also good news.
If you pick up the boxed version you'll get two DLC packs free, too, with the 'Classic Space' pack confirmed so far. You can see what it's all about in the trailer below.
Are you planning to pick this up?

More Legos! My baby bro would probably love this.
My son is going to be thrilled to get this!
Finally!!!
What a Blocky World !
Eh, no thanks. Too blocky like Minecraft.
Jesus, a lot of games are launching in September. How many does that make now? Needless to say, the third party support really does seem to picking up around that time.
Late, but better than nothing I guess. And the Switch can't be snooty when it comes to 3rd party support.
@buildz
Let's see...
1. LEGO Dimension
2. NBA 18
3. Pokken Tournament DX
4. FIFA 18
5. LEGO Ninjago Movie
The reviews for this game I think we're pretty good but the timing of it's release will likely see it fail to sell well. Too many games releasing in September, and then there's the games on PS4 to consider buying too.
@Anti-Matter Dbz xenoverse 2 and rayman legends and One piece too.
@Anti-Matter i didnt know lego dimensions is coming to switch?
@FragRed Reviews were mixed from what I've read. Performance wasn't great, there were notable bugs (but I believe this is common for LEGO games) and it got repetitive pretty fast; ''grinding for more parts''. Some also noted that building stuff with a controller was pretty tricky at times.
@tonyp1987 it isn't,he's either mistaken or thinking of Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2, which launches later in the year
@XenoShaun my wallet cant handle all the games coming out the rest of this year lol. I already have physical games of zelda botw, mk8d, disgaea 5 complete, splatoon 2, lego city undercover and i have dragon ball xenoverse 2 and lego ninjago game both pre order already. I have about 15 more switch games i want by the end of the year plus i want about 15- 20 ps4 games that is not coming to switch that i want this year.
@gortsi thanks
@Octane Oh that kinda sucks. But now I have more reason to spend my money elsewhere.
This > Pokken tournament DX
@FragRed Maybe they'll fix some of the bug and glitches for the Switch version. But I'm not sure if Warner Bros. even cares. Feels like the game came and went earlier this year. It made no impact whatsoever.
Too bad that Pokken Tournament and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 AND Metroid for 3DS launch also on September
I had a feeling I should've waited to buy this. I just picked it up on my Xbox One because I knew I saw that it was coming to Switch, but then saw nothing about it. I only paid $20 for it brand new, so no biggie
I've read a lot of iffy reviews saying it barely runs well on even a PS4...
I'll wait till it's out and see what folk have to say.
I'm thinking like some here are, lots of games coming out late this year. A few were delayed, a few are coming out later than I thought they would, so there's a lot of options after August.
I've read mixed reviews on this game, not sure this will make the cut for me. Maybe Lego Ninjago though.
@Anti-Matter
July has been great (Splatoon 2), August looks good, and then September looks like I'll have to take a small loan out to get all the goodies. I'm super curious what October, November, and December will bring. I'm sure there are some unannounced special games coming for the Holiday months.
@Landlord October I think we only have Mario Odyssey and Nights of Azure 2 confirmed thus far? Definitely should be more to be announced, especially with how packed publishers are making September out to be.
@tonyp1987 Definitely. I have a long list of games preordered on Shopto for both Switch and PS4 titles (luckily have nothing till Mario+Rabbids for now so time to save up).
I got Splatoon 2 and Fate/Extella physical this month and barely put the switch down because of them !!
@XenoShaun Mario Odyssey, WWE2K18 for October so far. Maybe Fire Emblem Warriors will come at November possibly
@Octane That's not surprising really. There's so many Minecraft type games on the market now I think people are kinda getting bored of them. Plus the first half of the year has been pretty hectic with big releases so I can understand the lack of interest in the game.
@XenoShaun yea plus. my ps4 backlog is killing me lol. I got enough Games to last a long time to play. My switch is starting to build a backlog as well but im happy for it i will support the switch as much as i can. I didnt get the wii u but love the switch hopefully we either get gamecube remasters or gamecube vc. I wanna play metriod prime 1 - 3 on my switch before mp4 comes out.
My sister loves Lego and played this in the PS4, and didn't like it at all. She thought Lego City on the Wii U/Switch was much better. The reviews on this were quit mixed, so I"m not sure I'm too excited for this one.
@Landlord
October :
1. Super Mario Odyssey (27 Oct 2017)
November:
1. Lego Marvel Heroes 2
2. Pokemon UltraSun / UltraMoon (3DS)
December :
1. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Probably)
@Agent721
Probably, your sister doesn't like the Minecraft Blocky style from Lego Dimension but interested with Natural Environment on Lego City. I guess...
My son and I are going to spend so much time on Switch. Wow.
@FragRed
Something that still in my mind.
Why the heck some kids prefer sooo... Blocky textures of Minecraft rather than Smooth HD detail like on Portal Knights ?
For me, Portal Knights looks Thousand times Better than Minecraft from Aesthetic aspect and gameplay.
I don't understand their (Kids) logic sometimes.
This is definitely gonna be my September big game. I generally don't like license-based Lego games (except Lego City Undercover, which is awesome), but sandbox style? Sign me up.
I'm getting Lego Worlds for the Switch and it's only costing me under $30 for it with tax. BB Canada had it up around E3 for $30, not $40. My dad is looking for a Switch for my son so I preordered a bunch of games for it. Also have preorders for my PS4 and 3DS.
@Anti-Matter
Yeah, probably. That's about right.
I've heard that This Is The Police is also coming to the Switch in September, which is a game I've always been curious to try. So yeah September is looking pretty busy with quite a few games dropping.
@XenoShaun @Malcrash Skyrim will launch sometime around then too. It's still down for late 2017 just now but my money's on early October. Better to get it out before Odyssey lands.
