I rarely disagree with reviews but I wholeheartedly disagree with this one. I don't find traversal to be finicky, since, in my opinion, its' not hard to figure out how to force the Gunbrick to face a certain way.
For instance, if you need to be facing downwards, yet you're facing to the right, he needs to do an extra rotation, hence you push him left once using the recoil of the gun. But, each to their own, I guess.
You need to get a grip. Shooting targets with fake guns has to be the least violent thing possible. I can't begin to fathom how shooting people in a video game is like being stabbed - you need to get some help.
Kirby is still doing much better than prior entries. Most entries debuted much lower than it did and dropped much lower in later weeks, so all in all, I'd say the game is doing well. For instance, Kirby: Planet Robobot started at #15 in it's first week, and then dropped to #36 in it's second week. Star Allies is faring much better, although it'll drop down pretty soon.
Shame about Detective Pikachu but a lack of proper marketing, childish gameplay and 3DS release doomed it from the start. Sea of Thieves being at #1 doesn't surprise me. Although, I wonder what people think about it - I hear it isn't too good.
To be brutally honest, the original SplatNet service was mostly useless. It certainly doesn't have the utility that SplatNet 2 provides, like buying clothing, checking out match statistics and tracking overall achievement.
10 games. 10 good indie, first party and third party games. I feel as time goes on, and particularly as we head into September/October, the eShop will only get better.
So, I guess Mania WAS the 100th game scheduled to launch on the system (at least in Europe)... but now it's Troll and I. Great.
Nice hold for Dragon Quest, Splatoon and the Switch (60k is much higher than the average 25k it was selling in April-June).
Shame that Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2 didn't do as well as the original, but given that it launched at a bad time (with the Dragon Quest hype), I can see why. I hope it picks up some steam too, because, the worse it sells in Japan, the lower the chances are that it'll be localised.
@Captain_Gonru I don't think Square Enix will mess the game up. I'd be a little annoyed if it didn't have multiplayer, but, asides from that, as long as the game looks, sounds and plays well, I'll be happy.
Oh, and assuming it stays an exclusive. Switch needs more big third-party exclusives. If Square Enix jump ship then I'll get mad. Assuming the game launches next year, Project Octopath Traveller will be one of the major third-party releases in 2018 for the Switch.
I don't see why people are complaining about the choice of game being Mario Kart 7. The 2015 Nintendo World Championships had you qualify in just one game too - NES Remix (though, I can't remember which entry). Mario Kart 7 remains one of the best 3DS titles and given how easy it is to get a 3DS and the game, it means the Championships will remain accessible to all without requiring a Switch.
I'm just intrigued about what games will actually feature in the finals. Perhaps a new game, or some third-party ones? Time will tell, I suppose.
@Captain_Gonru I think it'll be a while until we see that game properly, since it's clear that Square Enix announced that game too early without enough progress to allow for regular updates - and this isn't the first time they've done it either. It looked unfinished and doesn't even have a proper name. All we know is that it'll have 8 distinct paths (thus the name "Octopath Traveller").
Which sucks, because that game had a really neat art-style, with the whole "3D 32-bit" look; given that it was an RPG too, a genre Square Enix rarely ever mess up, I had high hopes. I am still intrigued by the game but the hype is gone, for the time being.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE The Wii U has more users, but, realistically, how many of them would actually care for the ports? You have to consider the demand from users; and, I'm afraid to say it, people don't give a crap about the Wii U anymore.

Re: Random: Some 3D All-Stars Players Aren't Happy About The Visible Debug Cubes In Super Mario Sunshine
I'll be brutally honest, as someone who hadn't played Sunshine very much before - I thought they were supposed to be there.
Still, they should probably fix that.
Re: Here's Your First Look At Harvest Moon: One World, Launching On Switch This Fall
Visually awful. But I'm sure the gameplay will be fine, as usual with the series.

The only one that seems at all useful is the 5 euro voucher. Still a neat idea.
Re: Ubisoft Confirms Just Dance 2019 For Nintendo Switch, Wii U And Wii
It just isn't a Ubisoft conference without some weird dancing things and a 2018 Wii game, is it?
Re: Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle: Donkey Kong Adventure DLC Arrives 26th June
Looks brilliant, as did the main game. Will definitely pick this up down the line.
Re: Star Fox Swoops Into Starlink: Battle For Atlas, Arrives On 16th October
Interesting choice of IP. It does make sense, in hindsight. It's nice to see Nintendo open to letting Ubisoft breathe new life in the series.
Re: The Two-Wheeled Terror Of Trials Rising Hits Switch In February 2019
Whew, it's been a while since I've been on Nintendo Life!
Anyway... yeah! I liked the Xbox 360 Trials game, and this looks equally as good.

Re: Review: Picross S (Switch eShop)
I'm liking this game but it does feel a tad watered down from the latter 'e' series entries.
Re: Video: Fan-Made Showcase Illustrates The Potential Of Animal Crossing On Switch
Oh, coo- oh wait, it's Josh Thomas. Welp.
Re: Picross S Is Headed To Nintendo Switch Later This Month
I love Picross! Surprised it took them this long to do proper multiplayer.
Sign me up!
Re: UIG Entertainment Has Switch Shovelware To Please Farmers, Firefighters And Horse Lovers
Meh, just leave them be, don't buy them, and people will stop porting them.

Re: Nintendo Download: 31st August (Europe)
Kingdom Battle, Zed Blade and the Shantae DLC for me. Good week overall.

Did it for you, Slig. You can sleep tight now.
Looks adorable, though.

Re: Gear.Club Unlimited Power Slides Onto Switch in December
Actually doesn't look, visually, half bad, at least in handheld mode.
Re: Nintendo Confirms a New Nindies Showcase Presentation for 30th August
@Dakt Not at all! Nobody would ever do such a thing!
Re: Nintendo Confirms a New Nindies Showcase Presentation for 30th August
@Dakt Because I should trust everything I see on the Internet.
I'm excited, but I know one person who won't be.
Re: Zed Blade Brings Shmup Action to the Switch eShop Next Week
I love the shooting games HAMSTER is bringing to the Switch. Count me in for this game.
Re: Review: Chicken Wiggle (3DS eShop)
@motaman Reflecting my argument is also another form of incompetence. Nice try.
As for just calling you out, simple; you were the latest comment at the time.
Re: Review: Chicken Wiggle (3DS eShop)
@motaman Just because you disagree doesn't mean the review isn't serious and valid. Get a grip.

Who the hell thought it was a good idea to launch the game a week before Mario?
Re: Video: Gamescom 2017 Gives Us Our Best Look At Switch FIFA 18 Yet

Re: Nintendo Download: 10th August (North America)
Nice chunk of games, as usual.
For me, it's obvious; SANIC (and the new Rayman demo, I want to see if the performance issues were fixed).
Re: Dragon Quest XI and Nintendo Switch Lead the Way in Japanese Charts
@Kolzig But it's alright, since they'll pump out another port of Apollo Justice!

@Agent721 Yes.
@westman98 Leave him be. If you starve him of attention he'll go away because he is, most of the time (not all the time), a troll.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE You're kidding? The Wii U?
I can maybe see them coming to the Switch somewhere down the line.
Re: Dragon Quest Builders 2 Confirmed for Nintendo Switch
@SLIGEACH_EIRE The first one did and it sold decently well and was received well critically. I'd be shocked if it didn't.
Re: Chicken Wiggle Release Date Revealed, Level Creator Detailed
That trailer is awful.
Game looks solid though. Might get it somewhere down the line.
