Given that the packaging explicitly states that the device only comes with 1 controller, I expect this was just a review bundle in normal packaging to save time.
It's too open for my tastes. It just feels boring not running into many enemies. The physics are great and the visuals/music are fantastic. Perhaps making the game slightly more linear may actually help it in the long run.
Strangely enough, it's one of only 5 games that sold over 10,000 units. I think the gaming industry is really slowing in Japan, however, I don't think this chart include digital sales, which is where a lot of sales could've come from.
Mario Maker 3DS
Pokemon Sun and Moon
Picross 3D: Round 2 (Europe)
Super Mario Run
That's all I can think of. They'll definitely make money from Super Mario Run, and Pokemon Sun and Moon will definitely drive sales. Mario Maker 3DS will probably have a modest number of sales and Picross 3D: Round 2... well, it'll probably sell poorly, even though I love the original.
Who cares about the investors? The general consensus is that it seems neat, so, it's all good. It's been the #1 Trending video on YouTube for well over 24 hours, it's amassed a large number of views, and it has an excellent like-dislike bar - it's been a great reveal, all things considered!
@YouSeemFRAZZLED Nintendo have actually been pushing for third-parties to announce their titles first, as Nintendo won't be talking about their own works until 2017.
Still, it's nice to see the game get the remaster it deserves. Based on screenshots I've seen, the game looks gorgeous. Pair that with a great soundtrack, engaging plot and you've got a great game, even if many consider it one of the weaker entries in the series.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE "it may as well be one" Nope. It's a livestream to merely show people the console in action for the first time; it's not revealing anything new about it, since we now already know all about the thing anyway.
Nothing for me right now, but I'll probably pick up both Star Rush and Color Splash in the near future (probably some time around Christmas). That My Nintendo discount for Chase: Cold Case Investigations - Distant Memories is tempting, but I'd have to confirm if I can buy the game this month before getting the discount.
Not a bad week overall though, with two big releases, a nice bunch of Nindie games and a nice set of discounts. Shame this'll probably be one of the last good weeks in the year (the only weeks that'll gain any attention will be those with Rhythm Heaven Megamix, Picross 3D Round 2 and Super Mario Maker for 3DS).
Nice. I'll get around to picking up Heist, since I really enjoyed Dig. Hopefully they can make another great instalment or some DLC, whether it's for Wii U, 3DS or NX.
Whilst I believe that FAST Racing NEO is a great game that everyone should pick up, I found it too frustrating to truly enjoy. Still, I might pick up the DLC, only because I want to support the company.
Meh. Couldn't care less for any of these except WarioWare. Whilst I still love Game & Wario (especially Gamer, since it's super unique and most resembles the classic titles, and the Miiverse-enabled mode, they make for a good time no matter what), I do believe that a more classic entry is overdue.
Nice. I really like this game, so it's really good to hear that it's available for more people to get. Even if you're not a Zelda fan, this is still one entry you shouldn't miss; if you're new to Picross entirely, this is a nice entry to start on, even if it does get challenging quickly.
@ThomasBW84 I was aware that the second Ace Attorney Theatre episode was meant to arrive today, but I was confused that it wasn't mentioned here. Thanks for clearing it up!
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Because Picross has never worked on consoles.
Picross has always worked better on handhelds than on consoles because of the pick-up-and-play nature of the series. You might do one on the train, then one during a lunch break, or in between long gaming sessions.
On consoles, the SNES Mario Picross games aren't even that good, as they suffer from awkward controls and the numbers were often too small to see.
@rjejr I meant 'Free to Start'. So people who want to complain about it costing something really can't since they can still try it without paying money.
"iOS users will be able to download and enjoy a portion of Super Mario Run for free and will be able to enjoy all of the game content available in this release after paying a set purchase price. More details will be disclosed at a later date. The game has been developed with Mr. Miyamoto as lead creator for Nintendo. Nintendo is also continuing its partnership with DeNA for the launch of Super Mario Run. It will be offered on the App Store this December in more than 100 different countries, and nine different languages."
@Angelic_Lapras_King Look here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njTfcWRvvB4 Head to 03:54. See the button named 'Change'? Could refer to multiple character choices, meaning that someone like Waluigi isn't entirely out of the question for the time being.

Re: Here's a Breakdown of All That Swapdoodle DLC
This is actually quite a fun little app. Shame it'll be dismissed by many as being pointless.
Re: Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise Coming to Wii U eShop in Europe
I loved Megamix, so I'm quite inclined to pick this up to see what earlier entries were like. Perhaps DS will come to VC, if it hasn't already?
Re: Poll: Retro Delights and Stock Shortages - What Are Your Thoughts on the NES Mini Launch?
No problems for me. Pre-ordered with the Official UK Store, received it a day before launch, and I've had fun since.
Re: Nintendo Badge Arcade Celebrates Anniversary With Discounts and Free Plays
I like this game a lot; I decided to join the hype and buy 10 plays, netting myself the Mario Kart 8 theme!
Re: Video: See What Lurks Inside the Packaging of the NES Mini
Given that the packaging explicitly states that the device only comes with 1 controller, I expect this was just a review bundle in normal packaging to save time.
Re: Random: GAME 'Opens' Nintendo Switch Pre-Orders, Though Using Paypal is a Bad Idea
@Aaron09 It's only a temporary price until GAME receive final notice. Nobody is being charged that much.
Re: Review: Mr. Pumpkin Adventure (Wii U eShop)
Looks interestingly strange. Might pick it up.
Re: Video: Sonic Utopia - The Ambitious Fan Demo That Might Be Better Than Some Official 3D Sonic Games
It's too open for my tastes. It just feels boring not running into many enemies. The physics are great and the visuals/music are fantastic. Perhaps making the game slightly more linear may actually help it in the long run.

Re: Mario Party: Star Rush Struggles to Get Into the Mood in Japan
It'll probably do better towards Christmas. It is a strange entry in the series, though one I like.
Re: Hyperlight EX Is Jetting To The New Nintendo 3DS Soon
Looks fun.
Re: Editorial: Don't Let Patents Be The New Source of Unrealistic Nintendo Switch Expectations
The title says enough. Don't turn into TheBitBlock and end up disappointed by being hyped by fantastical concepts.

@HyrulianOfHyrule
Mario Maker 3DS

I've never felt so stable.
Re: Review: Ambition of the Slimes (3DS eShop)
I remember when this launched. Nice to see that it's a cool game, I might give it a try.
Re: Random: Check Out This Neat 3D View of the Nintendo Switch
Neat.
Re: Nintendo Switch Will Be a Single-Screen Experience
Good. This means developing games for the console is much easier now.
Re: GameStop Won't Offer Pre-Orders for the NES Classic Edition
Ah well; doesn't affect me anyway. Does seem strange though.

Re: Amazon-Exclusive Lime Green New Nintendo 3DS XL Special Edition is Now Available in North America
Seems like a neat bundle. I like the shade of green and the box art. Asides from that, there's not much else I can say; hopefully it comes to Europe.

Re: Nintendo Declines to Comment On Touchscreen Enquiry but Confirms Switch Dock and amiibo Features
@A01 I'd guess it's in one of the Joy Con controllers, since you'll almost always be using them.
Re: Nintendo Declines to Comment On Touchscreen Enquiry but Confirms Switch Dock and amiibo Features
Nice to hear about the amiibo - I would've been shocked if they dropped one of their most successful ventures as of late.
Re: Review: Chase: Cold Case Investigations - Distant Memories (3DS eShop)
Definitely going to pick this up in the future!
Re: Ice Station Z Is Bringing Open World Zombie Horror To The 3DS This November
Looks like a fun game to me.

@MajinSoul Same.

Picross 3D Round 2
Paper Mario: Color Splash
forma.8
Mario Party: Star Rush
Rhythm Paradise Megamix
Re: Video: New NES Mini Trailer Shows Off Games, Display Options And User Interface
The emulation looks fantastic, the UI looks fabulous, and the inclusion of the filters are great. Well worth my £49.99 pre-order.
Re: Hands on: Getting Down With Chicken Wiggle
I really like this game, I'll pick it around it's launch.
Re: Multiple Discount Options Coming with SteamWorld Heist on Wii U
Nice. I'll get around to picking up Heist, since I really enjoyed Dig. Hopefully they can make another great instalment or some DLC, whether it's for Wii U, 3DS or NX.
Re: The Xbox One Now Has A Nintendo 64 Emulator
I know people will claim that the emulator can be used for homebrew, but honestly, can you name any homebrew N64 games? I can't.
Still, hopefully this gets removed. Go spend the 10 bucks on a well-emulated alternative — the eShop.

Re: Review: Polara (3DS eShop)
Looks fun.
Re: Nintendo Download: 29th September (Europe)
Good week overall. Phoenix Wright DLC for me, since I've been waiting for Turnabout Time Traveller for quite some time.

Re: Video: Capcom Celebrates 15 Years of Ace Attorney
Don't forget the announcement of DGS2 for Japan, as well NintendoLife.
Re: Chase: Cold Case Investigations - Distant Memories Arrives on the 3DS eShop Soon
Is this the first in a series of games or what? I'm sorta interested in it.
Re: Video: Check Out Some Official Footage of Super Mario Run
Looks fun, as I've said before. I feel that it could look a tad better graphically but that's it.
Re: Nintendo Appears at Apple Conference to Announce Super Mario Run
