Re: Nintendo Appears at Apple Conference to Announce Super Mario Run

buildz

The game is free-to-start apparently, with an upgrade fee being applicable if you want to play further (I'd guess the first world, which is four levels long, is probably available for free).

People need to calm down with the 'Nintendo is doomed' talk. This is here for brand exposure and isn't being developed by Nintendo themselves (remember, DeNA is).

Re: Nintendo Download: 8th September (Europe)

Yeah, like many have said, the costume bundles for Spirit of Justice are free for 1 week after launch (from the 8th to the 15th).

Asides from that, it's the best spiky-haired lawyer's newest game for me. Might pick up 140 at another time since I watched NintenDaan's First Look and was pleasantly surprised.

@998613game Having read your comments, I believe that despite this being a topic some people are interested in, it was wrong of NintendoLife to publish the article given your explicit request for it not to go live. My thoughts on the quality of your games (except BLOK DROP U, Pentapuzzle and Peg Solitaire) do not change.

Also yes, your link does lead to a Dropbox album.

@faint BBCode is different from HTML. Go look up how to insert an image in HTML and compare it to BBCode.

I feel that his refusal to talk now that his entire reputation is on the line (given that a large majority of the people on this website are the people that are, if anything, vaguely interested in his games, plus the fact that someone has tweeted at Jim Sterling, a semi-big YouTuber, alerting him to this story) may be an indicator as to his 'guilt', as it were.

Furthermore, I'd like to say that I think this isn't an article that is trying to be a 'witch-hunt' or 'OMG!#EXPOSED' because it neither accused RCMADIAX of doing anything wrong (since, as far as the article is concerned, he's in the right, despite contradicting research, as many people probably won't read the comments) nor did it slander him for it. If anything, it's a bunch of free press for the games that weren't called out, such as BLOK DROP U (which I maintain as his best title, despite it being his first) and SUPER ROBO MOUSE (which is often given the moniker of being his 'most ambitious' title).

Re: Review: Tetraminos (Wii U eShop)

@BulbasaurusRex I didn't even spot the fact it was changed. Then again, because it so closely resembles 'tetraminos'/'tetriminos', I doubt anyone would've noticed.

Should've just called them 'minos'.

Re: Feature: Looking for Hits in the Latest StreetPass Games

I chose Slot Car Racer and I really like it. I don't mind particularly not being able to get Rivals without Play Coins, as the simple yet complex gameplay (in particular, trying to get a 'Perfect' on each corner) combined with a nice bit of content (3 License Levels, each with 3 main racing tracks and two bonus ones unlocked by completing certain objectives in the normal tracks) make it a nice free game from Nintendo that'll certainly make me more likely to bring my 3DS with me whenever I go somewhere.

Re: Review: Tetraminos (Wii U eShop)

I find this game's name strange, since 'tetra' means four (linking in to the fact standard-Tetris pieces are constructed of four blocks) yet not every 'Tetramino' is made of four blocks.

Just call it 'Minos' then.

Re: Talking Point: The 2017 Role of the 3DS Was Established in its Nintendo Direct

buildz

Well written. The 3DS still has some time left, so it's nice to see Nintendo not stop supporting it as soon as the NX comes out (again, assuming it is a hybrid). 2017 looks like it may well be a nice farewell year for the console (I expect the last big first party games for the system to be towards the end of 2017, with third-parties following suit around 6 months later).

Re: Video: Take a Look at More Modes and Features in Mario Party: Star Rush

buildz

@dkxcalibur I dunno if you've confused 'moving together' with 'rolling dice at the same time' or what, this is nothing like Mario Party 10. Here, every player, as an individual, rolls their dice at the same time to move around on a grid to collect coins, buy stars or fight bosses for an opportunity to unlock stars. In Mario Party 10, one person rolled a dice to move all of their team-mates towards the end of a linear track whilst trying to have the most Mini-Stars at the end.

They're nothing alike.

Re: Super Mario Maker Is Coming To 3DS

The lack of online and poor NSMBU graphics kill this for me. As it's own project, it seems great, but, without the ability to share levels online, it relies on having others' to play it with, since, what's the point of making levels without easily sharing them?

I do like how the Official Courses that come pre-included have their own optional objectives for 'medals', it's a nice touch to get people to think about level design more, which, hopefully, would limit the terrible levels people would make with this, if you could share them online.

Re: Mario Sports Superstars Is A Collection Of Five Games In One

Camelot are making the game, which is good news. Personally, I can't wait, this seems really cool, and it may finally have gotten each games' individual formula down to a tee.

@StephenYap3 Equestrian is well-respected sport. I can't see why you don't think of it as a sport. Skateboarding is a sport; rock climbing (at Tokyo 2020) is a sport. Why isn't equestrian, in your eyes?

Re: 3DS Nintendo Direct Confirmed for 1st September

buildz

I vote for Picross 3D 2, some form of Mario game (asides from Star Rush, though that will feature, for sure), and a surprise to be featured in the direct. We'll probably also see more of Ever Oasis, and get an announcement for Yo-Kai Watch 2 (like a date or time frame for next year, at least in Europe).

Re: Review: Collateral Thinking (Wii U eShop)

buildz

Thank god this only cost £2 for me, as this, in my opinion, isn't as good as the trailers will make you believe. Unresponsive controls, trial-and-error gameplay, and, generally, just poor level design make this something I won't be replaying any time soon. Oh, and the lag, which shows that this game clearly wasn't well optimised.

What a shame.

Re: Video: New Metroid Prime: Federation Force Trailer Arrives, and It's Still Fighting Dislikes

@WiltonRoots @MagicEmperor Of course, there's many obnoxious fan-bases out there, I'm most definitely not singling out Metroid, it's just become very obvious about their behaviour since... well, E3 last year. It just bugs me to no end, when fans complain about not getting the game they want whilst other series' and their fans are desperate for games (F-Zero, for example).
