Re: Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Listing Pops Up on Walmart Ahead of E3 Press Conference

buildz

I actually am really interested in this game. I mean, as long as it looks good, has decent music, and plays well, with a quirky, self-aware, satirical plot, and this has the potential to fill the strategy-RPG gap still open on the Switch. Plus, it's' a big exclusive, particularly since the Rabbids are still popular to a degree.

Really looking forward to this reveal. This would make the 5th game Ubisoft will more than likely talk about in their conference (Steep, Rayman, Monopoly, Just Dance, Rabbids) - which would make Ubisoft the most packed third-party conference of all of E3 - further showing that third parties are beginning to shift towards publishing on the Switch.

@ironside1911 Did you read the actual article fully? You're jumping to conclusions.

"customised version"

Ever considered that the base game needs to have extra functionality for the Joy-Cons, HD Rumble and handheld / tabletop mode? The fact the same developers who do the main series games (as the mobile titles are done by other people) and that it is sharing the same name as the other versions (FIFA 18) should be proof enough.

"eShop in general"

Fine. But your comments can't really apply to the Switch as the platform has just launched, and the only objectively bad game on there is "Vroom in the night sky", which isn't even a mobile-based title. I get your concern, but it's very early with the whole "doom and gloom" approach you're taking.

"boost sales"

Perhaps the FIFA 18 port will boost sales. If EA market it right, Nintendo could see a surge in sales as we are addicted to FIFA in the UK. A fully-featured, portable console port would be a good option for many.

2) "Switch eShop" Yet you witter on about the 3DS eShop. I'll admit, the 3DS eShop can be garbage at times. However, we aren't talking about that. Go look at the Nindies Showcase and tell me they haven't curated a good selection of games for the Switch. This is no different.

3) "constantly in decline" Yet they turned a profit in the last quarter (October to December)...

@ironside1911 I was around, thank you. I don't need to be told when I was around to see stuff.

I wanted you to explain your comment as it seemed vague and unrelated. Now you've explained it, I understand what you mean.

"assaulted with cheap digital games"

The Switch will be no different. If you don't like it, ignore it. RCMADIAX faded into obscurity because of this.

"all the mistakes are not visible here?"

Well, not really. If you're trying to insinuate that this is a crap "cheap digital game", then you just need to go look up the reviews to see it isn't. Your comments are more justified on games like "Vroom in the night sky".

"praising these digital stuff"

Because the game is good. I understand you don't like the fact it was originally an Android game, but, that doesn't mean the game itself is inherently bad. If the game was riddled with micro-transactions and had terrible graphics and music, then, yeah, it would be bad. This is different though. Nintendo have been very selective with the Switch eShop (case in point: Nindies Showcase) and they've clearly deemed this good enough.

"mobile based ports"

Again, you're acting as if this wasn't expected. If you don't like it, just leave it. The 3DS got mobile based ports and it used to cost nearly $300 (I know it didn't exactly), yet you didn't complain then.

Also, stop suggesting the FIFA port will be the mobile game. They've announced it isn't. Not that anyone was surprised.

I'm done here. You clearly seem too ignorant and close-minded to actually be open to debate without insulting others and resorting to weak arguments.

@ironside1911 I'm sorry, but I have absolutely no clue what you are wittering on about. Can you try rephrasing your reply?

"they told the happy Wii U clients"

They told what? Please explain.

"buy more android ports"

This is a handheld console as well, so, naturally, you're going to get more mobile-oriented experiences to make use of the handheld nature of the device. If you don't agree with it, you're in for a painful 4 years (assuming that is how long the lifespan of the system will be).

Re: Review: VOEZ (Switch eShop)

@ricklongo @ironside1911 In fact, this "all-in-one" package is probably cheaper and works better on the Switch than a phone because of a larger screen to be more precise with.

People need to calm down and read things before making rash judgements. The community here really does consist of some absurdly ignorant people sometimes.

Oh, and also, the game has no user score yet @ironside1911 as it hasn't received enough yet (not that anyone really uses the feature).

Re: The Escapists 2 Will Be Breaking Out on Nintendo Switch This Year

buildz

@Manjushri ... You are aware that Nintendo has more than development team? They haven't JUST been working on Zelda. I'm not going to name ALL the other first-party titles their other teams have made over the last 3 years.

That, unfortunately, shows your ignorance about how Nintendo works as company.

"not even completing a game like Arms for launch"

Again, Nintendo have lots of development teams, and not all of them are big. The ARMS development team isn't very large, so it's hard for them to complete a game quickly. Again, if the game was at launch, it would have been rushed as result. A rushed game would've hurt the launch of the system and the game wouldn't have sold well as a result.

Re: The Escapists 2 Will Be Breaking Out on Nintendo Switch This Year

buildz

@Manjushri If ARMS was avaliable at launch, it would have less content than Street Fighter 5. It'd be crap, basically. The developers behind it need more time, so just... wait.

I hope it comes out in May. Any earlier and I'll be worried about the quality of the title. Having played it, the gameplay is there; it's just the content.

Re: Feature: It's Time to Vote for Your Nintendo Life Game of the Year Awards

(A brief reason as to why I voted for a game is in brackets.)

Wii U Retail:
1) Paper Mario: Color Splash (A fun follow up to Sticker Star with awesome visuals, music and writing.)
2) Mario & Sonic at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games (A fun party game that, in my eyes, fixed lots of problems with the 2014 edition. A lot of content too.)

Wii U eShop:
1) 6180 the moon (A really inventive use of the GamePad with a deep story and fun gameplay, along with relaxing aesthetics. Surprisingly challenging as well!)
2) Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge (A much better use of amiibo than AC:AF. The gameplay is fun, and builds upon Tipping Stars. Good music and visuals too, especially with each character.)
3) Pirate Pop Plus (A fun arcade game with awesome music and visuals.)

3DS Retail:
1) Kirby: Planet Robobot (Everything I wanted from a sequel! Great music and visuals, a unique new idea that is deeply interwoven into the gameplay, and some challenge made this an purchase I never knew I deeply wanted.)
2) Mario Party: Star Rush (A great improvement from 10/Island Tour that was underrated.)
3) Rhythm Paradise Megamix (A lot of content, catchy music and a simple, yet complex series of minigames provided me with over 30 hours of gameplay, and I still have more to do. 'This. Beat. Is. Non. Stop.')

3DS eShop:
1) Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice (Awesome writing. Awesome plot. Awesome visuals. Awesome music. My new favourite in the series. Nearly made me cry; that has to be worth something, right?)
2) BoxBoxBoy! (I never knew a little white cube could have such a deep plot. A fun puzzle game, and I hope the newly announced 'Goodbye! BoxBoy' arrives in the West.)
3) My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda - Twilight Princess (A great Picross game, and for free, since it only requires Platinum Points. Challenging puzzles with lots of variety seal the deal.)

Re: Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise Coming to Wii U eShop in Europe

buildz

@Krisi I was already very much aware that Megamix recycled a lot of content from Fever (1 level per land/tower, plus three-quarters of the shop), thus I chose Megamix over Fever, but I was never quite aware as to quite how much then remained unique to Fever afterwards.

The lack of any story I prefer since Megamix is too easy for too long, in my opinion. I'm already aware as to the structure of previous titles too, though I was always curious as to why Megamix decided to make new arrangements for some returning games and then use the original for when the game returns, though I do prefer some new arrangements, like Micro Row.

Still, I'll probably eventually pick this up, even though I've gotten really used to the guide on the bottom screen for timing.
