It's time for the North American Nintendo Download Update details, once again, and this week brings a relatively broad variety of games. The Wii U has a number of new releases vying for our attention, along with another DS Virtual Console title. The New 3DS gets a fun arrival on its Virtual Console, while a smaller Game Freak project makes its debut on the portable. Beyond that there's DLC and discounts to consider, so let's get to it.
Missed the European Nintendo Download Update details earlier in the week? Fret not, the information you need is right here.

The Beggar's Ride (Bad Seed, $5.99 / CAD$6.99) - A puzzle platformer in which an old man dons a mask and is the recipient of mysterious powers, given the ability to manipulate the environment. We rated this as a solid puzzle platformer in our The Beggar's Ride review.
Escape From Flare Industries (Helix Games, $3.99 / CAD$4.49) – This looks like a relatively simplistic puzzle platformer in which you navigate dangerous single-screen areas. From simple ideas a lot of fun can sometimes be found, so we'll take a look and let you know what we think.
Midnight 2 (Petite Games, $1.99) – A second entry in the series that adopts a relaxing aesthetic for some gravity-based puzzles in which you propel the ball-like protagonist around various stages. We'll mellow out and bring you a review.
PixelMaker (Nostatic Software, $2.99 / CAD$3.49) - Having previously brought us VoxelMaker, Nostatic now seems to be taking the same approach to producing pixel art. At a budget price this promises the ability to utilise the GamePad for producing scenes of pixel art, which can then naturally be shared to Miiverse. We'll get creative and let you know what we think in a review.
SpaceRoads (Wurd Industries, $9.99 / CAD$12.99) – The premise here is all about high speed across on-rails stages, as you fly and dodge obstacles while being propelled forwards. It has a tale of space exploration included, and we'll see whether it's out of this world or a black hole of doom in our review.
Sudoku and Permudoku (Diplodocus Games, $0.99) – Well, it's all in the name, with the classic number puzzles joined by a colour-based variation. There are 1000 puzzles promised, 500 of each with five difficulty settings, so we'll solve the puzzle of whether it's worth a punt.
Wii U Virtual Console
Style Savvy (Nintendo, $9.99) - A slightly odd arrival in light of the fact that North American gamers are still waiting for the latest entry on 3DS, nevertheless it's a chance to see where the fashion-savvy series started on DS. We'll work on our look and bring you a review.

Pocket Card Jockey (Game Freak / Nintendo, $6.99 / CAD$9.89) - A title that emerged from Game Freak's initiative to encourage its teams to try new ideas, this blends fast-paced Solitaire with horse racing, along with all sorts of extra details to take care of as you try and ride your way to the top. The extensive demo can also be used to transfer progress, and we gave it a recommendation in our Pocket Card Jockey review.
New Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console
Super Punch-Out!! (Nintendo, $7.99 / CAD$11.29) - The latest Super NES game on the New 3DS is another that's much loved; this successor to the iconic NES original was a true leap in visuals and style, with even more outrageous foes to fight. Colourful and manic, this is certainly a lot of fun - we gave it a strong recommendation in our Wii U Virtual Console Super Punch-Out!! review, and will take another look on New 3DS.
3DS DLC
Fire Emblem Fates: Map Pack 2 (Nintendo, $7.99) - This will include six maps in total, in which you work with a new team of units.
Fire Emblem Fates Map: In Endless Dreams (Nintendo, $0.49) – Kana, lost and alone, must find allies quickly. In Endless Dreams is Part 1 of Heirs of Fate.

OK I'll admit it, I wasn't even slightly interested in Pocket Jockey but after playing the demo all day yesterday I'm definitely getting that. I need something different and that fits the bill perfectly.
Lol nuff said
Dang, nothing this week. It's a good thing I still have all those Humble Bundle games to try out!
A chance for NOA to catch up with NOE on VC releases this week and we get Savy Style. Where's SMRPG, Star Fox and Wave Race 64, Startropics, Mario Kart 64, Mario Party 2, Kirby Mass Attack, Pokemon Rescue Team... Who's in charge of making decisions at NOA for VC releases?
Waiting for the SpaceRoads review. It has my interest.
@Don Agreed. I can understand not having Star Fox 64 right now since it would most likely hurt the sales of Star Fox Zero
@Don Style Savvy is a great game. Certainly good enough for people to at least get the name right.
Thank goodness for the Humble Bundle.
If $1 could buy all of the RCMADIAX games, would you do it? I'm not sure I would.
"Nothing for me this week" is in the poll lead, but Pocket Card Jockey is catching it on the straight...
My apologies for the Pocket Card Jockey review not beating the DL update, I simply ran out of time. It's definitely coming today, though
I need to see what's so good about Style Savvy... So that and maybe Conception II. I'm not sure about Pocket Jockey, I'll download the demo today.
@Don My thoughts exactly.. Style Savvy over those? Lameee. My guess is that Europe will get this title immediately in the next week or two also.
Boring week I see
Pocket Card Jockey is life. That demo consumed me.
So many eshop sales and they're mostly from RCMADIAX! Yay for us!
I don't even bother looking to see what's on sale anymore if I'm on the eshop. It's always RCMADIAX's wonderful portfolio...
Is devil summoner worth it? I have the others.
@Don it's madness lol
I'm getting Pocket Jockey something-or-other.
Nothing for me.
Style Savvy for me. That way my daughter can play it too. Already have a bunch of games from the Humble Bundle
I've got a ton of games from the Humble Bundle to keep me busy for a while.
Boooring
I started the demo for Pocket Card Jockey and would like to continue it. It seems like a fun game but I don't know if it will beat out my current picross gaming time. I also recently got the humble bundle games so I think I am set for a while.
Humble Bundle done me in, so no "official" weekly release download for me.
The humble bundle has me set for a while, so i'm cool. I couldn't get into Pocket Jockey, and nothing else has my interest. I'll probably save up for more Pinball Arcade boards, lol.
Nothing for me this week.
@DiscoGentleman
Yeah that would be nice. I don't mind that he puts them on sale, but they're there, like you said, 2-3 weeks out of every month. It's annoying at this point. Just make a permanent price cut, please and thank you.
Nothing for me...
I wish a good discount for Code of Princess, Kid Icarus, Zen Pinball or Mario Tennis (gbc)
@Le07br Isn't Code of Princess on sale right now?
Wow. Thought for sure I'd be the only one doing PCJ. The demo locked me in for a good minute. Glad others have it a try too.
@Don the one who is in charge of E3
Another week, no N64 games.
Pocket Jockey here. I'm bummed no 3D but the demo is pretty good.
pocket jockey for me and maybe style savvy.
Meh week. Most of the games look like they came from a college students final. I will still have to wait for assault android cactus. If it comes out.
sighs :/
Nothing for me this week, but I've been so busy resetting legendaries in Pokémon and with Xenoblade Chronicles on Wii U that idrc
Gotta space out the big-name VC releases on the U since they are releasing almost nothing for the rest of its lifespan
Fire Emblem Fates DLC
Pocket Card Jockey
Super Punch Out
3 for me
@Spoony_Tech I tried the demo after reading this post, after what seemed like forever in front loaded small talk about being resurrected or some irrelevant stuff we get down to playing Tri Peaks.
Why do developers feel the need to throw in a dumb ass, long winded story for a card game and further, no one...NO ONE wants to sit through lots of dialogue before a game even starts.
This is pathetic.
Yes, give us Style Savvy which NO ONE asked for and keep Mario Party 2 away from us when Europe got it like 2 weeks ago.
Smfh.
Nothing over here, though I'm getting pretty close to having enough platinum points for TP Picross.
We'll never see the zelda DS games here, in NA, as expected.
Wait Map Pack 2 is only $8? I guess I'm going get that.
Style Savvy!!!! Could it be? Is Nintendo of America considering Style Savvy 3 for a NA release? Please say it is so!
Style Savvy and Fire Emblems for me! (^_^ )/
Just Fates DLC for me
@Crono1973 I agree the story is long winded in the early parts but it gets better to the point they cut way back on the dialog. You can get into another race within 60 seconds or so and that's with even buying stuff.
@Freeon-Leon It is, but I didn't notice, thanks!
I am so ready for Starfox 64 to hit the eshop.
@Le07br You're welcome
Have fun!
Super Punch Out for sure. I love having SNES games on my portable (legally)
Damn, SMT and Persona aren't on the discount list in Switzerland D:
@neufel Okay did I just read the NA discount even though I'm in Europe ? Yes. Yes I did.
@Utena-mobile How I hope so. My worry is that this is being used to gauge interest and that poor sales would sink SS3. On the other hand localizing 19,000 items has to take some time, so perhaps it's already in the works. And since Nintendo has said they are relying on 3DS in 2016...
@sWiTcHeRoO The only reason I didn't ask for it is that I still have the original. Otherwise I'd have already downloaded it. Not everyone will have the same tastes as you, and your tastes are no more deserving of being met than anyone else's.
Nothing this week. I might pick up Pocket Card Jockey eventually.
Just Pocket Card Jockey for me. It wasn't even really on my radar until that demo. But what a demo it was. Got my money!
I've got to finish downloading my humble bundle
Just release more indi games for 3ds! Ahhhh!
YOURE KILLING ME NINTENDO!!! THIS WEEKS VC IS STYLE SAVVY???? CMON...you're just becoming so hard to root for!!!
Good lord!! Well....back to ps4 and xone!!
@Don isn't it just unbelievable?? NOA is soooo incompetent!!
@Stargazer I don't know about you, but I'm under the impression that they've been doing that since the vc started on the Wii u! The Wii had 3-4 classics a week! This is torturous and it is downright incompetence on Nintendo's part especially NOA those morons!!! Ahem....sorry 😊
I am busy with my Xbox One so I definitely won't be getting anything this week. The recent Nindie Humble Bundle has me set for a month too!
Wow NoC, gouging Canadians much? Why should I pay $11.29 for game that is $7.99 in the states. Or pay $28 for Xenoblade? This is why I stopped buying games from the digital store on Wii U/3DS...
@joey302 Style Savvy is awesome.
That is all.
@PanurgeJr not saying it doesn't have a fan base but with all the classics out there still missing on the eshop it's just an odd or lesser desired choice to most. At least post another classic along with it to have some choices?? I mean if you're not interested then you have to wait till next Thursday...again! And again...frustrating!
Absolutely nothing on here that would interest me. Oh well.
Still earning medals in Star Fox Zero so I'm good for this week.
@Spoony_Tech I have to thank you a ton for your first comment. I would've ignored this game if I didn't see your comment but I gave it a shot because I was curious and it's pretty cool.
@Zoda_Fett You're quite welcome. I just ate some words about it on twitter lol and Bill Trinen retweeted it. I said I mocked the game on one of his tweets a while back and now I'm eating those words.
