Super Meat Boy

Many of you are no doubt looking forward to the launch of Super Meat Boy on Wii U, which was recently reported to be happening "very soon". The title has had something of a troubled release history with Nintendo platforms; it was initially set to release on Wiiware, before getting cancelled due to file size restrictions. Fortunately, no such issues exist on the new and improved Nintendo eShop, and it has now been announced that the game will be launching on 12th May in both Europe and North America.

The announcement came via a press release from Team Meat, where it was also revealed that there will be a slight launch discount to encourage early adopters. The game will be available for $14 / £13 / €14 until 26th May, which is 20 percent cheaper than the game's official price. Also there was a part of the announcement that seemed to tease that a 3DS version in the works. After discussing all the platforms the game is already available on, the press release mentioned that "only the 3DS will be missing (but maybe not for too long )" Make of that what you will, but it looks like 3DS owners might not have to sit this one out for much longer.

What do you think? Will you be buying this one for the Wii U? Would you like to see it on 3DS? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
