The switch complements other systems, not competes. At least the smash audience that has not played them will get a chance to play them on switch, and hey, the first few minutes are free to test out if your connection can handle it to satisfaction. But yeah, the earlier games probably could have been ported so it looks a little lazy ... maybe it was a licensing issue if they modified to port the game for switch?

It’s funny that people think Mario Kart Tour isn’t the next Mario kart simple because it is on mobile … or that it is a gotcha game because it is on mobile. It really is a good game and I’ve never paid a dime despite playing it weekly since launch.

It is a great free game, which was judged too harshly for its minor gotcha mechanic. I’ve never spent a dime on it and I never will spend a dime on it, but it is a blast to play for free and I play it every weekend

What about wallpaper for the background of our switch homescreen UI? It is frustrating there are no folders or custom homescreen wallpapers, these should be simple additions.

A full Nintendo Direct seems less and less likely for the rest of this year ...

It’s just wall street being mad that their idea (Nintendo switch lite) didn’t perform well and Nintendo won’t give them a pro. Just goes to show how little Wall Street understands Nintendo, as they want them to become Disney or Xbox or Sony.

@kducky11 the fee structure in freemium games is a person by person preference. A lot of people pay the micro transactions or dint pay at all for these types of games like FIFA, so I think focusing on the content instead of the pay structure keeps the reviewer from giving a bias take on free to play games. It is fine to mention the pay structure, even put it in red or a section all to its own, but it probably should not be factored into the review score. Your view on freemium games isn’t shared by everyone, as seen by how profitable FIFA and Mario Kart Tour are, so just judge the base game or content for what it is. I haven’t paid a penny to Mario Kart Tour for instance, but I have a great time with it still and would rate it a 9 or 10 out of 10. However, a lot of reviewers focused too heavily on the micro transactions and I consequently felt they did not actual review the game without payment or with payment because they only reviewed one side of the equation.

I think price should not have been part of this review, since it taints the review. It is fine to mention how price affects the game, but it should not factor into the score. Just judge the game for the content, don’t assume based on an imaginary person’s wallet. Otherwise every free to play game like fortnite or mario kart tour will never get reviewed properly.

I see why they are porting Skyward Sword now ... Skyward Sword x Breath of the Wild x Kid Icarus. Hopefully there is more to it, because this does not look like 4 years worth of work

It is the only mobile game I play weekly, although I only do the tours and not the online mode. They give away enough rubies to get something new every two weeks, so I've never spent a dollar. I like it alot!

It is probably just that there are a lot of Microsoft ports and smash crossover IPs on switch that this is merely cross promotion

The lighting and nose look different. Also not sure it can be copying when Mario is owned by Nintendo and Mario is in a basic pose.

Free epic game store ... unleash it on the iPhone! Apple is so afraid to compete that it blocks game companies out. Apple’s Mac App Store is decimated because users can download apps from the browser, so they are probably afraid that the same will happen with the iPhone. However, the EU’s digital markets act (enacted because of Apple’s arrogance) could even affect even the switch. Good thing the switch can still be profitable even when the Digital Markets Act passes because Nintendo has 1. Lots of first party games to buy 2. A subscription service and 3. Does not sell the switch below cost.

I really enjoyed her voice acting in BOTW, so I am surprised to hear that so many people did not enjoy her voice acting.
