I think that this guy may be making a poor decision not to invest on the switch for more than one game, which could pass the ps4 in terms of sales. That’s the flaw in his argument regarding not wanting to spend more than a couple of months porting a game to switch. The guy has a very EA attitude, but that is fine if they want to leave money left on the table...

It’s a no-go when a game is in the cloud. Let the user decide by offering the cloud as an option or the downscaled local game

While I do see them adding a tv only option eventually, as people switch to the switch, I do not think that this guy is accurate in terms of people playing it on the tv. You can tell that the whole “fire stick” lingo indicates how he believes one business model works for all

Congress’s anti-trust committee also made recommendations that walled garden approaches should be opened up since they can stifle competitors from the platform ... and Europe is potentially going to pass the Digital services Act which would also do the same thing. Honestly, this is going to happen somewhere at sometime, regardless of whether Epic wins its lawsuit. These device companies did it to themselves.

If the new switch will upscale to 4K, why would Nintendo need to tell developers at all to prepare for it

So I am a little confused still whether there will be more news on the new hyrule warriors or on breath of the wild 2 on September 25th. The date does not clearly state that in the trailer. Also, this trailer could have been intended to release earlier like Mario’s 35th got delayed 5 months, so I wonder if that September 25th date is for breath of the wild 2 info (aka teasing bigger things here for the next one like Pokémon unite did with the Pokémon snap announcement) ...

@bobzbulder That’s what I said. Why would Apple be so afraid to allow iPhone downloads when they already do on the Mac? Because the developers would publish to the competitor rather than comply with Apple’s arbitrary App Store rules. That’s why the Mac App Store is filled with garbage and Apple is going to fill the Mac App Store in September 2020 with iPhone/iPad apps

His surprise is why they didn’t get the port right on launch, as they were clearly hoping to not have to fix the switch version and have fans on the other platforms. Good thing it backfired on him, he should have known better as he previously developed on Nintendo platforms

Apple is facing an antitrust complaint over the App Store in Europe, by congressman, by customers (approved by the US Supreme Court), and now Epic’s Fortnite (potential competitor with epic games store) after recently denying xcloud too. The writing is on the wall, why is Apple so afraid to allow browser downloads of Apps like on the Mac?

Their shareholders are still going to be unhappy. Apex is the only title of potential to them, let’s see if Madden and Star Wars get on there next year when they tell shareholders they are supporting the platforms with -20mil install base rather than the platform with +70mil install base (switch).
