It seems the Australian Classification Board may have shared one extra detail about the upcoming Switch release, Shin Megami Tensei V.
According to the official rating down under, it will contain "online interactivity". The fansite Persona Central was the first to catch this and believes it could be something similar to the online internet StreetPass functions in Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse for the Nintendo 3DS.
Of course, it may not necessarily be anything like this - so we'll just have to wait and find out. Atlus has been drip-feeding information about this game on a regular basis. Just last week, for example, it released a new trailer showcasing the story.
How would you feel about the inclusion of some online features in Shin Megami Tensei V? Leave a comment down below.

It clearly refers to Miiverse support.
It's probably going to be a replacement for the Streetpass Demon/item acquisition system from IV or getting to trade demons online if they want to cash in on the Pokemon craze. Maybe an online dungeon rescue system like P4G as well
It's not going to be actual online multiplayer
@Aerona Nah that's definitely off the table especially considering demons in your party still don't follow you in the overworld
It could be like the online fusion from Persona 5, where you throw two monsters in haphazardly and get random results lol
Yeah, I'm also guessing they're going to incorporate Network Fusions like in Persona 5.
Maybe it's just as simple as cloud save backup? They all have the same classification.
Oh, come on, people. You’re only “breaking” this “story” because other Nintendo fan sites have.
This. Is. Not. News.
“Online interactivity” is a blanket term that can be used to allude to online multiplayer (doubtful in this case), unclassified to-be-released DLC (very likely), or other user-shared content (such as custom levels and StreetPass/Miiverse functionality) that could potentially exceed the parameters of the issued classification and its respective consumer advice.
In the past, the Board used the consumer advice of “Gaming experience may change online” in most cases, and “online content variable” for MMORPGs, but now they default to “online interactivity” to keep things simple.
It’s quite annoying when stories are posted about ACB decisions without the slightest understanding of how they operate or the reasoning behind the terminologies that they use (especially regarding decisions designated as “MODIFIED”).
Virtually every blockbuster game nowadays receives that additional consumer advice to no fanfare. This should not be taken as confirmation of any online multiplayer modes unless indicated by more concrete evidence.
My money says, DLC. But who knows, maybe there is some strange multiplayer component for all we know.
@TheFrenchiestFry they do tho
@TheFrenchiestFry Yeah I'm guessing something like a Black market where you can buy/trade demons or items.
Sounds kinda neat though, maybe we can even auction something
It's for the day one patch.
Nothing these days is ever finished.
😁
Can't wait though, I was lucky enough to nab a pre-order for the Limited Edition.
Loot boxes for extra demons/items - they seen how the catcha mechanics in Genshin has generated a stupid revenue and want a slice of that pie!!!!
Edit: to say im being sarcastic, but wouldn't be surprised.
Maybe something like in death stranding, where you can see what other players do at that point in the game?
[Insert Musings of Network Fusion Functionality Here]
Miiverse? just kidding hah
This game sounds more exciting the more I find about it, online battles Pokemon style? Yes please!
