Brace Yourself Games - best known on the Nintendo Switch for its amazing work on Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer - has taken to social media to tease an upcoming announcement.
Apparently, it's got "super-secret" news related to the Crypt of the NecroDancer franchise to make. All will be revealed on the official Brace Yourself Games YouTube channel later this week on 4th August.
While we wouldn't expect any more crossovers, who knows what Brace Yourself Games might have in the works? If you've not played these games previously, they're definitely worth a look if you're into rhythm adventures.
Crypt of the NecroDancer was also updated last month for the first time in five years - with the developer teasing it as a precursor to "something bigger". It addressed load times, difficulty spikes and much more.
Here on Nintendo Life, we gave Crypt of the NecroDancer and Cadence of Hyrule nine out of ten stars. What related announcement would you like to see next from Brace Yourself games? Leave a comment and take a guess down below.

Crypt of the NecroRapper?
I enjoyed Cadence of Hyrule a lot more than the original. Not really sure why though…
I actually loved the demo, so I’m excited for this!
Maybe finally a sequel to NecroDancer and the update was just them using new Dev tricks they have been able to learn working on it?
At least hope it's something like that and not something actually minor masked by 'super big update hype'.
@Wilforce It certainly had much better visuals. And a clearer narrative. Altogether making it a much better game IMO.
Regardless, I'm excited for whatever's next. NecroDancer 2? If so, I hope the levels/maps/floors are a bit bigger.
Are they finally releasing Crypt of the NekoDancer?!
I need to give the game a second shot, and buy the Zelda one. Can’t wait to see what they’ve got up their sleeves
"While we wouldn't expect any more crossovers..." Bad move. Nobody expected the Zelda crossover. Expect EVERYTHING.
Castlevania would make for a great crossover. Lots of weapons, lots of characters, and solid music series-wide.
I'm quite excited by this announcement.
@Wilforce Maybe it's because of "no-rythm" function, where your movements are free from music's rythm? When I was buying the original CotD, I was thinking that the game also have this function - to turn off/on rythm functions and play without/with movements restrictions(because of music)... But it didn't. And bard became my favourite and most played character in the game... But, if you like rhythm games and have good skill in them(or only in CotD games)... I don't know the reason why you enjoyed Cadence of Hyrule more than original CotD...
If they going to announce sequel, I'm hope that it will support "no-rythm" function from Cadence of Hyrule, where your movements are not restricted to music and rhythm...
@Wilforce me it was totally th oposite... I loved necrodancer, I beat it with 3 or 4 different characters... cadence, I dunno why, I arrived at the very end and gave up... I'll return one day.. but I would LOVE a second necrodancer.
Sad that it wasn’t announcement tomorrow, or I could’ve hope for a Pokemon crossover.
I would love to think that it's going to be another game. Also, very interesting how there's a bit of debate about whether Cadence of Hyrule is considered a sequel or spin-off, and it was never officially specified.
I love the original and what little I played of Cadence of Hyrule, and I’m keen to see what they announce Thursday!
I haven’t played in a while and didn’t even know about the update, so I’ll have to check that as well.
Oh backlog, forgive me…
DLC music tracks?
I can see a Mario themed Crypt of the Necro-Bowser happening
Yes. Any Necromancer announcements are welcome. It's been a while since I've seen an announcement that got me super excited. The only games I'm super excited about are Despot's Game and Silksong, so this is great.
Crypt of the necrodancer 2?
Cadance of Mushroom kingdom!?
Crypt of the rabbits!?
Higher discounts for Cadence of Hyrule!?
@Vyacheslav333 I don’t believe that was implemented when the game first released. Though I do believe it’d be worth it for me to go back to play both again to compare them.
I'd honestly like this game to do something similar to Dynasty Warriors. What I mean by that is that there's Hyrule 𝘞𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘳𝘴, Fire Emblem 𝘞𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘳𝘴. We have 𝘊𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 Hyrule, so I would like a 𝘊𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 Dreamland and more "𝘊𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧..." games :>
I hope its gonna be Tempo of the Metroid's next or something. I was talkin with a few friends a good while back... but on a semi-related note, I think a Mario x Spelunky would be pretty awesome too!
