So far, we are constantly seeing gaming studios downplay, or outright deny, the fact that this is done to avoid the costs of 64GB cartridges.
If cost isn't the issue, and digital delivery is preferred, then why not issue the keycards on blank 64GB cartridges so the game can download to the cart?
Here’s the problem: an unwillingness to compromise on both the part of Nintendo, and third party developers. If Nintendo won’t offer a game cartridge size anything less than 64GB, then a third party developer is going to refuse the expense of mounting their titles on said cartridge (unless it’s a game like CP77 that will use nearly all of the storage space).
The situation will change when the consumer focus does.
Games absolutely are products, and there is nothing wrong with that. I feel some people need to refer to games as "art" because it somehow elevates the creative form. It doesn't There's such thing as bad art too, just like there are bad products.
The greatest strengths of games is that it is a product that contains artistic elements, and takes inspiration from a plethora of other art forms. That makes gaming unique. Let gaming be its own league. Games are a user-input driven experience. That's not art.
Through, and through, this is a PC game. It's nice to see a positive review for console, but I'm still struggling to see how the player has the same fluidity, and overall control, when it comes to the rapid fire moments. I'll wait for physical.
As successful as Switch 2’s launch has been (and i say this as someone who purchased Switch 2 at launch, and is loving it), we are not in the Switch 2 generation just yet. Given the number of releases that are still coming through the pipeline, plus the ongoing support, Nintendo are still in their Switch 1 phase. Switch 2’s generation won’t fully take flight until around 2027 because that is when support for Switch 1 will be winding down.
I've decided to draw the line at purchasing any further Switch 1 games now that I have Switch 2, otherwise I'll risk doubling up with Switch 2 editions.
I highly recommend Yakuza 0, but be very careful when playing mobile: the lengthy cutscenes means that it is a long time between opportunities to save your game. If you are low on battery, there is a risk you will need to revisit substantial slews of the game if your console drops out.
You don't truly own your console until the manufacturer stops supporting it. I'm totally indifferent to gamers who choose to MIG their console - i don't do it myself, but I see why others may choose to.
But, why not wait until Switch 1's support is discontinued rather than MIG your S2 on Day 1???
Digital only is not only anti-consumer, it's anti-Nintendo.
Among the weakest arguments in favour of digital or key code distribution is, "look at Microsoft and Sony".
Nintendo is neither because physical distribution has been a long tradition of this brand, and by far the one who stuck with cartridges the most. Nintendo are not trend followers, they are trend setters; just look at how they are leading the charge with hybrid domestic/handheld gaming.
If you are pro-digital, and strongly prefer to buy digital, that's fine. All I am asking is for a choice to retain a physical copy of my desired game. That same choice allows you to elect for digital only.
I'd be curious to know the number of hours that was spent in docked mode vs. mobile. Mine, at the moment, is fine but I suspect this may be due to frequent recharging.
Also, I wonder if they are using the 90% mode of recharge.

"Snowdrop relies heavily on disk streaming for its open world environments..."
This is the bit which doesn't make sense to me.
I am playing this offline, both docked AND handheld, and the game experience is consistent.
I know there's no multiplayer component, so what do they mean by "Snowdrop relies heavily on disk streaming for its open world environments..."?
Re: Nintendo Sends Out Second Game-Key Card & Physical Game Survey
I'm not anti-digital. I love it. All I ask for is an option.
Why is that so hard?
Physical ownership of games guarantees my loyalty because my console will age gracefully since i'll always have those games on my shelf.
