Re: Unravel Two Switch Port Would Have Delayed Its Reveal By "Half A Year Or So"

TuVictus

I like these articles because comments are either mad at the developer for saying "No Switch version planned" with no explanation or they're mad at the developers for being honest and even detailing exactly why they can't port it right now. Then suddenly the whining switches to "Well you guys are just lying, obviously porting is super easy and I know exactly how it works".

These devs really can't win

Re: Soapbox: The Best Changes For Smash Bros. Ultimate Are The Ones We Didn’t Ask For

TuVictus

@NEStalgia Completely agree. They had all that time and still they had to fill it up with stuff like Olimar's helmet cracking now. Woopee.

It frustrates me more than anything how much Sakurai went from detesting the melee-type fans and working against them to slowly inching his way back to Melee. Brawl was pretty much perfect for most people. Sure it had its quirks and annoyances but it truly felt like a game designed to be fun first and foremost.

Then 4 came and suddenly everything had to be faster to appeal to the more competitive nature of Melee, and now Ultimate is here and they spent the first ten minutes bragging about how now everything is even faster, and, what a coincidence, some melee moves came back too.

It's frustrating to me mostly because it seems more like Nintendo pandering instead of Nintendo thinking "how can we honestly make the franchise more fun"

Re: Soapbox: Fortnite Is Coming So Nintendo Really Needs To Sort Out Its Voice Chat Problem

TuVictus

The most concerning thing I see from Nintendo fans whenever voice chat comes up is "I don't like and use it so Nintendo should never implement it"

It's selfish, arrogant, and actively makes Nintendo worse as a company if people keep campaigning against them coming into the modern era. They sure don't mind picking up all the worst pieces of modern gaming like season passes and patches, they should also incorporate the other things, too.

Re: Rejoice, Fortnite Fans: Switch Battle Royale Title Crazy Justice Is Shaping Up Nicely

TuVictus

It's a really good imitation that brings some of its own minor stuff to the table, which is great. But still, I'd rather Fortnite come over. It's similar to when CubeLife3D filled the minecraft shaped void very well, but once the real thing hit, everyone clearly preferred the original. (Yes, I know fortnite is a bandwagon game from the popularity of PUBG, but at this rate devs are copying fortnite, not PUBG)

Re: There's Trouble In Paradise As Nintendo Adds Loot Boxes To Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp

TuVictus

Lol @ the people that actually defend this and somehow think Pocket Camp is somehow not exploiting children with these "fortune cookies".

I love it. It used to be "Nintendo would never do mobile gaming trash"

Then it was "Nintendo mobile games are the best ones because they don't nickel and dime you"

Then it was "Well, they NEED microtransations to make money! They're a business, and at least its not loot boxes, those are evil!"

And now it's "Well they need lootboxes and they're optional, at least they're not in any of the paid games".

I can't wait for the excuses to roll in for the next time they push the line.

Re: Feature: Five Things We Expect from the Animal Crossing Mobile Direct

TuVictus

It really says alot about the industry when FE Heroes is much more lucrative than Mario Run, arguably a fully featured game for a single one time price.

Also says alot about me when Mario Run is the only game I have played on my phone to completion and Heroes was uninstalled within an hour of being downloaded. So if this goes the same route, count me out

Re: Talking Point: Defining a Sequel and How It Affects Games Like Splatoon 2

TuVictus

Personally, I still don't see what makes it stand out as a sequel. But that's not a bad thing. Galaxy 2 could have been what New Super Luigi Bro's was to NSMB U: A very substantial piece of DLC. But it wasn't and it was still an amazing game because it took what the first game did and just... did more of it.

If that's what Splatoon 2 is, with just new maps and weapons, then that's great news. If they also manage to deepen the lore and single player, then that's just icing on the cake.

Re: Editorial: After The Bold Brilliance Of Breath Of The Wild, Where Can Zelda Go Next?

TuVictus

I really really hope they go back to something more traditional at least for the immediate next zelda game.

Though it's funny. When Skyward Sword came out I was sad that, since it seems the motion controls were divisive, that we'd never again see what was, for me, the epitome of Zelda swordplay. Nothing will ever beat that 1:1 sword fight I had with Ghirahim and Demise. And, sadly, I was right, as BOTW's combat goes back to smashing a button until the enemy is dead. Not to downplay the myriad of other ways you can approach battles in this game, it's brilliant. But strictly speaking of swordplay, it's inferior in every way.

And I guess that's how people would feel if the next Zelda went back to "normal". They fell so in love with this game's open world and simplistic approach to powerups that to go back would be seen as a mistake, similar to my view of the sword play.
