The Nintendo Switch comes out in a matter of days, and we can confirm that Nintendo has been kind enough to send us a review unit for our resident video guru Alex to fondle lovingly.

It goes without saying that we'll be running an exhaustively in-depth look at the console very soon, but in the meantime we thought you might like get a kick out of laying your eyes on the very first thing you'll see when you pick up the machine from your retailer - namely, the external packaging.

The box itself is much smaller than we were expecting - it fact, we'd even go as far as to say that it's positively dainty, and reminds us of the economical packaging in which the NES Classic Mini shipped in, which is no bad thing. A cat has been included to give a sense of scale, and don't worry - we didn't microwave anything. Honest.
