Metroid has always been Zelda from the side. (or in the case of Prime, Ocarina in first person) π
OTOH I'd argue that Windwaker gives you the least amount of "things to do between major areas" of just about any Zelda game, and my fear (which you've unlocked π) is that this Metroid game will be like that.

I don't think there are many Nintendo fans for whom this isn't an auto buy for the right price, including myself. I'd buy day 1 at 50 but I have principles and at this point, more sense than money. (and I've bought these games more than once already π)
PS - "I'm not sure about the price" is not really the right wording lol. Anyone checking that box likely knows what they think of the price π

This was Nintendo's chance to make a 50 dollar tier (remember all those years ago when 70 for TOTK was justified because "well, it's Zelda...?") and instead they let me know beyond question that even offbeat sequels to mediocre spinoff games in their more "casual" franchises will be 70+ dollars. So the more they promote it, at this point, the more it looks like money and good will down the toilet. regardless of if this game makes profit.
I'm sure they wouldn't do it if it didn't lead to more money some how or other. I'm more concerned with reasonable prices than Nintendo's profits.
personally, when fans are decrying over-marketing and high prices at the same time, it's not the greatest situation, regardless of context. I've said this 2 or three different ways across my original post and these replies. π
I have no idea what it costs! I imagine it's the result of the labor of a team of people, including planners and personal assistants, graphics people, sound people, et al. nothing that a group of professionals and executives does is is cheap, and it's maybe far more expensive than you'd guess. this is part of an ad campaign and that ad campaign is part of what leads to the MSRP of the game, perhaps minimally as you say but it's all in the balance.

it's been a long time, but here's what I remember about triforce heroes:
first off, I was still a Nintendo fan, with no asterisk. they were different times! π
my wife and I both had 2DSes, and I bought us both a copy of this thinking we'd have fun working through the dungeons together.
Nope! turns out this is the world's first and to my knowledge only 1 OR 3 player game! and since I'd already opened them, they couldn't be returned.
