the horrible title ruins both covers and also is anathema for people who might be new to the series. I mean, it's a paragraph on the page almost 😂

I voted Japan because at least I can't read half of it so it almost looks like a normal title: "Leighton's Mystery Journey DX"

I turn off the music on many games that I play, unless it's something really special. I find my feeling of immersion is better.

let's start with the false notion that it's "game key cards or nothing/only digital."

you said it yourself, "I think if Nintendo can manage it an affordable lower capacity cart for smaller games I think that would solve a lot of the issues"

Nintendo invented GKCs out of thin air, when everyone would have expected a selection of different sizes of physical carts. it was a shrewd, calculated, cynical and anti-consumer choice, that they continue to make every single day.

this is a PR self-own, yet you want to minimize it to a vocal minority that you wish would just shut up and accept "reality" as you personally define it, from your throne of majoritarian self-superiority.

it's insane to basically make a whole new game's worth of new content (if true,) and then call it REPLAYlee instead of just making a sequel.

also, the forced pun. they didn't call it "Banjo TWOee" because they actually respected their 10 year old audience (me) back then.

It's understandable that they rushed out the "remake," when the original game is so HOT right now! Everyone has been clamoring to play Yooka Laylee 1 again, lotta people have been saying it.

I bought a couple of these on switch, and deployed them in a casual group setting and EVERYONE got into it, blurting out suggestions, howling in laughter at the results. a really good time! 👍 there should be more "1 player party games."

if it's a switch 1 cart with a switch 2 game on it, what's the point of a switch 2 cart? and, what is the point of a game key card over a (presumably cheaper?) switch 1 cart?

if it's a switch 2 cart with a switch 1 game, then I simply didn't know switch 2 carts could be played on switch 1, but also it kind of upends some downstream assumptions i'd made as well.

anyway thanks for the article! if they let me "zoom in" the view a little bit and turn off the voices I'll consider trying this game.

I have a wired Mayflash arcade stick that feels roughly nearly like a Dreamcast stick. I'm pretty sure they still make them but not positive. 👍

EDIT - also I have no idea if either are considered "good" these days but I loved the DC stick, and I like the Mayflash a lot. ✌️

maybe my eyes are just tired but these "zoomed out" type games just don't connect for me. Hades included/especially.

I'm finally playing Goldeneye's 1p campaign, and I'm on the last few missions 😊✌️ almost 30 years on, I'm absolutely loving it!

I like "hard" games but I found resurrection to be just too full of cheap shots and blind corners to really have fun with. just has no "flow" to me (even compared to the old ones, of which I agree "Super" is the best ✌️)

looks a bit rough, imo.

I think I wouldn't like the "mound" that the stick sits upon.

for my money I'd rather have multiple controllers with different functions than one controller and a bunch of useless parts lying around. OTOH I wouldn't be carrying this thing around in a duffel for rapid field deployment like Jason Bourne, either.

last thing: call me old school, but I think i prefer the kind of buttons which each have a "surround."

I think Huntdown is my favorite scoot n shoot ever, even topping contra 3! there was a time I never thought I'd say it.

TBH, I beat Huntdown (norm diff) a couple years ago, but now when I play it, I enjoy the levels but mostly dont really have patience for the bosses! 😅 and, that final boss nearly broke me lol

I'm very much looking forward to the new T2! Looks amazing. ✌️

My point was that for some, videogames are a welcome escape from "real life." certainly part of my early gaming life as a child was actually escapism from some of the things going on at the time.
