sound is half the reason i play videogames, depending on the game of course. 👍
also i turn the music off often, if its not particularly great. i really appreciate games that still sound "right" with just ambience/fx. and, in those cases i often find the game to be more immersive than with the tunes.
(huntdown is a good example of ambience done well. without the music, you can clearly hear the NPCs/enemies chatting or doing whatever they are doing before you are noticed, and the "air is filled" with sounds of the city, etc. its cool.)
i have a wonderful mother 2 OST on vinyl that was a gift from a dear friend returning from japan ❤️

im being a little cute, because ive been on this train... forever 😆 i was working on my ZSNES backlog in the PSX days, and ive always been more into 100%ing my games while i wait to find a used copy of whatever's new, later.

it seems like they definitely intended "Legends" to be a spinoff series, and later claimed them to be "mainline," for whatever reasons they might have.

Re: Rare NES Platformer 'Little Samson' Is Coming To Switch In 2026
i dont think ive ever met anyone who played this game in its day. not that that is qualitative in any way.
To me, this game is an example of a good candidate for a "remaster" or even a random reboot or sequel because the nostalgia ratio is seemingly low.
I mean hot take, idk. i hate everything.

minimalist piano compositions are not for everyone, but the town music is plenty melodic and "Zelda," if not completely on the nose, imo.

Re: Review: Night Striker Gear (Switch) - The Shining Apex Of The 'Super Scaler' Concept
why are NintendoLife reviews so often written as though the author assumes the audience is skeptical (or completely ignorant) of the given genre?
this review comes off oddly apologetic about the nature of arcade games. specifically, that they are relatively short, and they end.
"The challenge won't last forever"
"Might be too shallow for some"
both of these cons could be applied to every game ever in existence, no matter how deep (or... 'infinite?' )
