Re: Reaction: Donkey Kong Bananza Has Instantly Become My Most Anticipated Game Of 2025

TheSaneInsanity

I wish I could say I wasn't hyped for this game because of the wonky ponytail Pauline has. NINTENDO HAIR DOESN'T SPLIT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STRAND WHILE ALSO ABLE TO HANG BELOW. IT's DEFYING GRAVITY, WHILE ALSO BEING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HEAD, THERES ALSO HAIR BELOW IT FOR SOME REASON?!?!?!?!?! IT WOULD ALSO BE AN AWFUL HAIR CHOICE IF IT REALLY DID EXIST.

but no

This game is wonderful.

Re: Another Atelier Game Is Coming To Switch This September, Here's A "First Look"

TheSaneInsanity

they're really jacking up the appeal to nerds. Cat ears, 2000s edgy belts combined with harness/overalls? a crop top bra thing, and those things I mistook for actual blimps when I saw atelier ryza(edit it was acutally yumia) upside down... are their sales down or something?

Yes I really did mistake that artwork of atelier ryza for artwork of blimps. and it was a thumbnail on nintendolife. Let me go get it https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2025/03/atelier-yumias-strong-start-makes-it-the-fastest-selling-game-in-series-history

I somehow was blinded to her face and her legs. that combined with being in the sky and missing both arms and with the bag looking like a basket at the back of the "airship" made me very confused until I clicked on the low resolution thumbnail and realized that was an anime girl.

I thought it was a neat design for an RPG airship... until I realized what I had been staring at. To think I was seriously analyzing the design elements that looked cool and somehow didn't see the face.

Re: Feature: "You've Gotta Make It More Sexy" - Final Fantasy & Persona Voice Actors Have Made A Dating Sim For Everyone

TheSaneInsanity

@nintendolife That's a very non- sequitur tagline, it's already attracting alot of unproductive discussion. And ultimately I think that it's making the discussion negative and entirely unrelated to the game, which shouldn't be happening. AI is only by name mentioned twice in the article.

Other more productive taglines could include:
we had as many as 25 writers at a certain point.
We had a lot of people who were cast against type
"That's just not the way life turns out."

Re: Fortnite Turns To The Dark Side With New AI-Generated Darth Vader Chats

TheSaneInsanity

@Bigmanfan Well either way it would be disrespectful to the dead to never use his voice as he wanted.
"The song is ended but the melody lingers on."
It's also disrespectful to the dead to use his voice with AI because of the connotations of AI, practical graverobbing. We all remember Vader well enough
"Those who touch our lives stay in our hearts forever"

I think in this case, they shouldn't have let his voice loose based on an LLM, because those things are easily fooled, and it's more disrespectful for his voice to be used improperly.

@Splash_Woman I did do some light research on the topic and edited my comment with links to the articles, that were published before the fortnite collaboration.

"According to Vanity Fair, James Earl Jones signed over the rights to Lucasfilm in 2022 to recreate his voice via artificial intelligence thanks to AI innovation by Ukrainian tech start-up Respeecher.

Matthew Wood—the supervising sound editor at Lucasfilm who had previously recorded Jones’ voice for the role—told Vanity Fair in 2022 that he knew Jones was close to retiring from voicing Darth Vader and presented the actor with Respeecher’s work."

@Splash_Woman weren't AI voices already a thing by then? I think he'd be fully aware that his voice would be used that way.

According to this article, that was the reason he signed his voice away at all, this is from september of 2024, which is before this fortnite collaboration
It's also in this article too:

Edit: idk what James-Earl thought of homophobia, but screw homophobia anyway

Re: Nintendo Lawyer Breaks Down What Makes An Emulator Illegal

TheSaneInsanity

I agree with 2 of the points nintendo makes here. Except for the security keys, because emulating security keys is part of making a system work. if the user takes the security key out of the device to insert into the emulator, there should be no problem. It's the equivalent of exchanging parts to a new location. I'm not here to argue if the user is doing something bad by copying or moving the key.

I think the game preservationists should act more like that big library in europe that stores a single copy of each old book for people to read. instead of massive piracy, and everybody getting a free copy just in case. That isn't necessary to make old games playable.

Re: "I Was Honestly Surprised" - Yoshio Sakamoto On Nintendo's Approval Of Emio

TheSaneInsanity

I knew I wasn't crazy, the orange highlighted words are hints, they literally mention that in the first paragraph of the interview from Miyachi
"However, we felt that if we simply copied the format of previous installments, it may be difficult for today’s players, so we added some tweaks, such as coloring key words in conversations to give players a hint about what to do next. "

Yall here at Nintendolife told me it wasn't real but it was. I had so much trouble in The girl who stands behind and The missing Heir, because the commands were obtuse, but in Emio I was speeding through the story demo because of this.

I need to actually buy this game.

Re: Catly Developer Says Game Does Not Use Generative AI, Blockchain Tech, Or NFTs

TheSaneInsanity

@VoidofLight I haven't examined the music in detail, the developer says it was done by a real person. As for the icons... I think they're just in engine screenshots.
I haven't seen the promotional art you're talking about so let me search it up. The one with the purple coat, long hair, and yellow sunglasses could be AI I admit... let me check the strands of its fur. Ah it's melting into the carpet... Ok then, still be responsible with your dislike.
