Re: Nintendo Will Remove Smash Bros. Ultimate's Offensive Depiction Of Native Americans

TJWorks

We should get rid of the Chef's hat too because it's offensive to Italians. And not the Italian-accented plumber whose voiced by a white caucasian.

I'm confused as to what is even racially offensive anymore. I get annoyed when American's impersonation of a British man is a cockney-accent, tea drinking man in a suit and top hat. I don't see anyone confronting that stereotype.

Re: Three New Characters Join The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Roster

I shouldn't be surprised about the backlash over Pirahna Plant, but man, a lot of people seem to be really spiteful over it. He was probably a joke character Sakurai & co. wanted to mess around with for fun, alongside the MANY FAN-REQUESTED NEWCOMERS that have been added in Ultimate. Just leave the poor man alone. He works his backside off but can never seem to have fun or make everyone happy.

Re: UK Gaming Magazines GamesMaster and GamesTM Set To Close Next Month

TJWorks

That's sad, but it was inevitable. I remember growing up buying Games Master magazines as that's how I used to find out all the new games. My biggest memory was buying them to try keep up with Pokemon D/P's European release because it kept getting delayed for us. (no idea why.) It was agonising as a kid but we eventually got it and it's one of my cherished games.

Re: Review: Warriors Orochi 4 - A Boisterous But Samey Sequel That Won't Win Over Naysayers

I wish these game's combo systems were more along the lines of Bayonetta or DMC, where there were more attack/link buttons to make new combo's spontaneous and experimental. That's what makes those games fun to me. I never understood how people can enjoy a game series where the gameplay involves mashing one button to win. I couldn't enjoy Hyrule Warriors despite the Zelda fanservice.

Re: The Next Yooka-Laylee Adventure Will Be A Crowd-Funded Graphic Novel

TJWorks

Well... the comic art looks pretty.

Unfortunately I'm not bothered about funding this. I held out forever for the Switch version of Yooka-Laylee, only to find out it was disappointing despite the post-lauch fixes (like most people). Huge barren (but pretty) levels with collectibles littered everywhere with no sense of direction or game progress.

Re: Video: Watch 10 Minutes Of The Onimusha: Warlords Remaster Gameplay

@Cobalt Well it IS a PS2 remaster. Most PS2 games haven't aged well, and this game isn't remade from the ground up like the N.Sane trilogy or the Resident Evil remake.

I don't think the model textures look bad in this video. It's the lack of a real light source and shadows that make it look horribly aged. Reminds me of the static backgrounds in the PS1 Resident Evil.

Re: Mega Man 11 - A Glorious Return To Form For One Of Gaming's Greatest Heroes

TJWorks

@Realnoize That's what I'm saying. I imagine more cost when into the art department now that the game evolved into 3D rendered models and more exotic backgrounds (compared to the simple pixel art style of older games, excluding MM7 and MM8.) It would be reasonable to increase the price tag to make up for these costs, but not a huge jump. (I think MM9 and MM10 cost about £10-15 when they came out.) It's hard to swallow £25 for a relatively short game, and I don't know if I'll get invested into the other modes.
