The Pokémon Company has shared details surrounding the latest distribution for the 'Year of Legendary Pokémon' celebrations. This time around, you can get your hands on Reshiram and Zekrom.
Originally appearing in Pokémon Black and White, these fearsome beasts will soon be available in Pokémon Sun and Moon and Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Their stats will differ depending on which game you plan to send them to, with Zekrom being exclusive to the Sun versions of the games, and Reshiram being exclusive to the Moon games. Here's all the info you need:
For UK players, the legendary beasts can be obtained via the Mystery Gift function in the games between the 5th and the 21st October. US players can snag the Pokémon from participating Target stores between the 19th and 28th October.
Also, in case you had forgotten, the Zeraora distribution is also taking place this month. This Pokémon is available to obtain between now and 15th November (from GAME in the UK, and GAME / Gamestop / Micromania across Europe) and will be available at Gamestop in the US from the 19th October, but only for the 'Ultra' versions of the games.
Will you be adding any of these elusive creatures to your team?

Why can't they all be over Mystery Gift. I live in the country and can't always get to an EB Games or Best Buy.
Nintendo for crying out loud it's 2018, you did distribute some Pokémon via mystery gift download so why AGAIN a download code from a store?
Shiny Poipole code is still on the go at Smyths too until October 15.
I haven't taken part in any of these distributions ever since US/UM released. Ever since X and Y, my interest in Pokémon has gone downhill more and more because of dumb things being introduced that makes it not feel like Pokémon anymore and I just don't care much for the series anymore at this point sadly. Which makes me sad to say because it used to be one of my top favourite games. Ugh....
I remember when getting Legendaries from these events were magical, since they were rare and you couldn't just trade for one online. Now they give them out like free food samples. It's not the same.
I agree with all the above comments.
@Rayquaza2510 Promotional considerations, they have partnerships with the stores. It gets people into the stores, which is good for both partners.
so... no mistery gift option for US?
Look, I get that Mystery Gift is "hard" to pull off in North America since some cash has obviously changed hands, but really? Not all of us live within a reasonable distance of some of these stores; I have a dedicated GameStop within fifteen minutes of where I live, but I have to drive over an hour to get to the nearest Target or Best Buy.
I can deal with this madness in some cases, but man do I want a Zekrom for both Sun and Ultra Sun....
what the hell. Why does the UK get to use the simple Mystery Gift thing but the US has to deal with Target? WHY NINTENDO
Oh god no, another Target promotion. During the last one, I was given every excuse they could think of as for why they could not put them out, so the employees could hoard them all for themselves. They kept on telling me they "scanned" them and the computers said they could not put them out and they used that excuse for weeks after the street date. Not surprisingly, there were sealed stacks of them on ebay, listed close to my location. I even got corporate involved and was assured the cards would be there, but no, they still refused to give them out. I had to liberate a bunch of cards from a different Target near my work in order to hand them out so people in my town actually got some. As a final act of defiance, that same store put out ONE single card, on the very last day, just so they could make an attempt to say they had them out. Target is just simply the worst.
@JasmineDragon I would be happy if I lived near a Target. But I'm in a country with no Target stores, but the same North American version of the game is distributed here (México),
This is a joke.
Store events... that's why I didn't even bother touching US/UM again.
@ryancraddock Um, Canada doesn't have Target. And we are part of North America. So can you please provide information on where Canadians can get this? Usually it's EB Games or Best Buy or digital distribution. But we don't have Target and we are North America so a little clarification instead of lumping us in with the U.S. would be nice.
Canada will be able to download Zekrom and Reshiram through the Trainer Club Newsletter.

What is going on why is it only at Target why not at BB, GameStop, Walmart? Why are they doing this for. Just because I go to Target I won't be buying anything because they are so outrageous prices and not enough selections.
Zeraora! That's right, come papa!
I just want the gold bottle cap...
These distributions are needed because of their dumb rules banning Pokemon from previous games from being used. Because you can't breed legendaries and VGC rules require (for no reason I accept as legit) the Pokemon be obtained in that gen.
Current VGC rules allow some legends. So they need to be obtained in SM or USUM. So if you spent 3 weeks soft resetting for that perfect, shiny, resharim in ORAS, too bad, you can't use it in SM/USUM tournament rules.
The Pokemon can have the exact same moves, stats, ability, everything, but if it has that pentagon from gen 6, or no symbol at all from earlier games, then you can't use it anymore.
Yes, I am still salty.
@Olmectron Yeah, that sucks. I'm not saying this kind of distribution is a good thing for us. It is, however, very good for Nintendo and Target, and that's all they care about.
