It's weird to think when the Switch was released, our only real viable option for picking our first game was BotW. This was a scary time where people feared Nintendo couldn't recover from the abysmal life cycle that was the Wii U generation. Glad we were wrong.
That's surprising to see, considering MK8 Deluxe is a portable MK powerhouse that overshadows it in every way.
I didn't really like MK7. In terms of new tracks and the character roster, they were mostly rubbish. At least the game introduced the Propeller/Glider mechanic.
I don't know why, but there's something fascinating that people will draw phallic pictures in literally any format with any tool you offer them.
Textbooks. Tables. Drawing Boards. Streets. Buildings. Games... no matter where you go, people will go out of their way to make the easiest, laziest joke in history.
@nessisonett Haven't played Smash in a while, but I remember experiencing issues with projectile characters whose playstyle was spamming projectiles to control space. It was an issue 'cos the amount of projectiles they'd throw at me was a pain as they'd break down my shield fast in only a couple seconds.
Moving around the projectiles was a choice, but against characters like Mii Gunner or Snake, it was impossible because pro players would be covering the entire space with projectiles... those matches were very frustrating to fight.
@NintyNate People are speculating they're gonna port Persona 5 to the Switch. There's an upcoming announcement next week from the Persona creators about a new project called "P5S".
It's not 100% confirmed, but it's a big rumor at the moment.
@ALinkToMyProfile I wasn't expecting the next character anyway. They probably want to focus all our hype and attention on Joker before they distract us with Fighter No.2.
I'm glad I decided to give Persona a try when I bought and played through Persona 3 a couple years ago, and blasted through Persona 5 after. I'm more in love with this Fighter Pack then I ever would've.
Now if only I could force myself to play Persona 4... I already spoiled myself on the story so I don't know if it's worth another 100 hours.
Speaking of turning rules upside down, did anyone play Reshef of Destruction on the GBA? That's probably one of the worst games I've experienced.
They radically changed the effects of all the cards, especially removing effects from Monster Cards and made them normal monsters, like Man-Eater Bug. Not only did it confuse everything I knew about Yu-gi-oh!, you had no choice but to grind throughout the entire game to have even a chance of progressing. I never beat the final part because it was the most broken, unfair, unpredictable mess of a gauntlet.
I haven't been into Yu-gi-oh! for over 10 years. I miiiiiight be interested in this though. It's the only trading card game I ever got into, so I'm interested in reliving that feeling. I'm afraid I'm gonna be clueless though with all the new types of cards they created in later years. I experienced everything up to the end of the Yu-gi-oh! GX series.
Was thinking of Tropical Freeze after selling off my Wii U, but I've gone with Octopath Traveller for a new experience. I'm on trial for Amazon Prime too so I get free One Day Delivery.
For a Rewards programme, it doesn't feel very rewarding.
The longer this goes on, the more I wonder what is even the point in it. Super Metroid is a decades old game with a relatively small price to begin with, but they still want money for it so only label a discount, instead of making it free with Gold Points purchase.
I managed to place 2nd place and 4th place the other day. Is it just me or did it feel like everyone playing during the Grand Prix was a god-level pro player? I was struggling to make it into the top 30 but after the tournament finished, I could easily get past that.
@RickD Never heard about that. If that's true, if he reacted that way towards a bug, I'd hate to imagine how he was feeling after the infamous Skyward Sword stage demo.
@Kal_el_0724 I think both the DS and Let's Go games are still using the same character models. It looks more like they're using different rendering styles/shaders; the Switch/DS games have cel-shaded textures, while the Let's Go textures/colours have softer blending and lack the lineart rendering that the Switch games bring back.
I prefer the cel-shaded lineart rendering the Switch games are using again. It stands out to me more.
The Linear-looking path in the Region designs scares me. It looks even more linear and straightforward than B/W's Unova region and Sun/Moon's story path. I hope it has enough interesting locales or optional areas, 'cos the in-game screenshots look gorgeous. Alot more promising than what Let's Go had to show.
Also, Water starter wins again for me. Scorbunny does look fun, but Sobble is too adorable.
@Cloudsurfertom Looked like Fire Emblem: Teaching Simulator., hehe.
Seriously, it looks gorgeous and real step up from the 3DS games. I hope the story will be more exciting though 'cos I don't want to spend the whole game playing school teacher.
This was a surprising pay off, since most of the direct was disappointing. I think this, Mario Maker 2 and Fire Emblem were the only decent announcements.
@AlternateButtons Probably 'cos the Wii U ports are still selling like hot cakes, mainly from people who didn't have a Wii U to experience the original versions. So they don't feel any incentive to put them on sale.
Besides, I think they did have some Wii U ports on sale in eShop during last Xmas. So this kinda cements the overall pointlessness of MyNintendo rewards.
@AlternateButtons Considering how much profit they're making on the Switch so far, I imagine they haven't included Switch rewards yet to maximize profit as much as possible. If Switch sales ever start dipping across the board, then that might be where they'd start introducing Switch rewards.
I'm not a businessman though, so lord knows if my thoery makes any sense.

Re: Talking Point: Do We Still Want Achievements On Switch?
I stopped caring about achievements years ago, but they're harmless.
Unless you're the kind of hoarder who really needs that Platinum trophy of the Hannah Montana video game for their collection.
Re: Psyduck And Snubbull Join The Pokémon Build-A-Bear Range
The black hoodie Psyduck looks like he's about to enter the boxing ring.

Re: Here's A Closer Look At Joker's Mementos Stage In Smash Ultimate, All 11 Music Tracks Listed
They even changed the design elements that relate to the theme from each game. The clocks on the P3 alternate stage is sweet.
Also glad they picked the 2 best songs from Persona 3 for Smash. I ain't complaining. <3
Re: Gallery: All Of Joker's Smash Ultimate Alternate Costumes, Kirby Hat And Mii Outfits
@Sebas Who needs a gun when you have an RPG, Nikita Missles, C4 explosives, Hand Grenades, mortar shells and CQC skills?
Oh wait, Joker has a Grappling Hook as well. Snake is screwed no matter what.
Re: The Second Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes DLC Is Launching Earlier Than Planned
They got this all backwards. You're supposed to DELAY content, not "release it early". Grasshopper Manufacture need to get with the program.

I bet some fans are fainting from the sight of that Goro Akechi' recolour. It's easily the best-looking alternate colour from the lot.
Re: Bowser Begins His First Day On The Job As The President At Nintendo Of America
I have to ask. Did Nintendo hire him solely because his last name was affiliated with our favorite Koopa King?

Re: Persona 5 S Website Goes Live With Info To Come, But Is It Related To Switch?
I'm keeping my expectations low in that it's just Joker's official Smash reveal trailer. I'm all open for a Switch port of P5 though.
I don't really know what else it could be. We already got our mandatory spin-offs in Persona Q2 and P5 Rhythm game. What else could it be?
Re: Sega Reveals Spooky New Haunted Castle Track For Team Sonic Racing
It looks like from this video, we now know all 7 zones that these 21 tracks will be based on:
Planet Wisp (Colours)
Rooftop Run/Spagonia (Unleashed)
Ice Mountain (Advance)
Sandopolis (Sonic 3 & Knuckles)
Seaside Hill (Heroes)
Bingo Highway (Heroes)
Not sure what this Haunted Castle track is from though, if it's the final unknown zone... Hang Castle?
