Re: Soapbox: Zelda: Skyward Sword Is Good, Actually

Say what you will about the gameplay and story pacing, but I still think Skyward Sword has the best audio-visual presentation in the whole series. The impressionist art style they went with made the environments look gorgeous, and the soundtrack is one of the best in the Zelda series. I'm baffled that some people think it's ugly or think the music is bad.

@RupeeClock I didn't say they would apply their abilities as well. Of course it be purely cosmetic changes, the same with Bowser Jr./The Koopalings.

I also picked the characters that would be the easiest to skin to the same skeleton base that'd be difficult for others, such as Twintelle (doesn't use arms to fight) or Mechanica (fights inside non-human shaped mech). It's all just speculation anyway.

Gotta go with banjo. In all honesty, the other box art would fail to grab my attention in a shop. All I see is a weirdly shaped test tube rocket with flying oranges dunked in dark chocolate. (I know they're supposed to be explosions, but they don't look like 'em.)

The European box art Mega Man doesn't look half-bad, compared to the others. It's composition is readable, MM looks like MM, and the brushstrokes and details are rendered nicely.

Too bad Guts Man and Fire Man's goofy faces clash with MM, and Dr. Wily looks like he's patiently doing his business in the bathroom.

Re: Yooka-Laylee And The Impossible Lair Update Makes The Final Stage Easier To Beat

@rallydefault I wasn't describing the entire sections as cheap. Only small areas that I couldn't beat without touching the same hazard on every attempt. The ice area in the second area you mentioned is a good example of this. Where you have to build momentum by rolling across the ice floor to duck under the spikes. But in my experience, they don't give you enough room to duck after rolling as I still touched the ice spikes during the roll phase in every attempt.

I've just recently beat this game last week. Nice to see they've added these options for people struggling, since I don't think the Impossible Lair level is very fun to begin with. Some areas feel cheaply hard, and I couldn't think of a way to get through those areas WITHOUT sacrificing a bee. The rest of the game was fun, but they don't prepare you for the massive difficulty spike in the Impossible Lair level.
