Nomada Studio and Devolver Digital have revealed that Gris, a light platforming and puzzle narrative game, will be launching on Nintendo Switch on 13th December.
We first heard about this one back in August, with its "serene and evocative narrative experience" and beautiful imagery piquing our interest from the off. The game follows a hopeful young girl lost in her own world, dealing with a painful experience in her life; her journey through sorrow is manifested in her dress, which grants new abilities along her journey. As the story unfolds, she grows emotionally and sees her world in a different way, revealing new paths to explore using these new abilities.
The game will be available for $16.99 (other region pricing to be confirmed).

Looks beautiful, really does. I just fear it's going to be another one of those games that's art style over substance. Apart from the big fish that trailer looked kinda empty. I don't want to just jump from box to box, however good it looks.
Nice, this game looks stunning. Hopefully the game itself is just as impactful.as its visuals.
Never heard of this game, but it's so gosh darn beautiful. I might have to buy this.
That's a beautiful looking game. Animation is great looking.
This looks sensational. I'll be pre-ordering as soon as possible.
@kuromantic ah man - I dream of having that game on Switch ! Should be doable surely?
@KIRO I'm pretty sure it's exclusive to Sony platforms, same goes for Flower which would work really well on Switch
@kuromantic I don't think I got as far as defining empty, I just said the trailer looks kinda empty.
And yes, I have played Journey. Difference is that is 3D exploration, which I have a preference for over 2D. Much of Breath of the Wild is empty in many people's opinion, but it doesn't stop it being my favourite adventure game. But a 2D platformer, for me, benefits from some regular engagement beyond jumping from platform to platform.
Ori and the Blind Forest is a beautiful 2D game, but it also has frequent things for the player to engage with beyond just jumping around.
I hope this game does too, but the trailer doesn't give that impression.
Beautiful game.
Amusing title (for Danish speakers.)
Looking forward to this, but I'm expecting it to sport quite the massive file size, what with all that crisp animation. If it does, it'd be great with a physical release.
I dig this game’s aesthetic. I’m gonna chance it and preorder it as soon as it becomes available. For some reason, it feels like a safe bet. I’m in.
This game’s animation really is exceptional. If it plays well I’m all in.
This looks lush.
I may give it a go once it gets a sale.
@Pod Why? What does it mean?
Where i come from, it's the name of a smapl town next the one I grew up.
Anyways, i fell in love with the art style, bus specially with the great animations. I hope too it's going to have some depth, guess we'll have to wait...
@Ricube
It's a nice word for "pig". Conjures the image of a cute little oinker. Can also describe something as being a little messy or naughty.
Really hoping for this to be a good game as well as a beautiful one!
When its on sale i will get it, looks amazing
@kuromantic I hope it's as good as journey. I'm hoping for a bit of a launch discount, maybe 10%
