Listen, you might think you like Pokémon GO, but you probably don't like it quite as much as Chen San Yuan, the 70-year-old Taiwanese player who rose to fame by strapping a load of phones - all running the game, of course - to his bicycle.
Yuan clearly felt that the bike was getting in the way of his monster hunting, as he's now moved to a full-body rig which allows him to access areas previously off-limits. He has 12 different handsets linked to this fearsome contraption, all connected to a backpack full of battery packs so he never runs out of juice.
Now that's dedication.

I wonder how much retirement money he spent rigging that monstrosity up.
Why isn't my dad this cool? He is only a little older than this dude.
I wanna be like this when I get old.
At least he's not on his bike.
He wanna be the very best
Hope he wasn't planning on having any more kids (he probably wasn't), with all that cell phone radiation going on.
So is he playing against himself? Also, what do they mean by "areas previously off limits"? Is he cheating?
Multi-accounting is against the Terms of Service. Ban. Ban. Ban. Ban.
@zever You can't really take your bike off-road, can't take it inside buildings, etc. So no, he isn't cheating in that regard.
I don't think having multiple accounts is allowed though.
Wow !
Now that's called a gamer.
It could be dangerous for an old man to walk around with so many expensive gadgets on display.
@Octane Does Professor Oak catch him if he tries to bring his Pokemon GO bike off-limits?
"Chen-san! This isn't the time to do that!"
Good luck getting any gyms he's watching.
@Anti-Matter He is cheating though
Does he own a Switch? Did he preorder Pokemon: Let's Go?
@Octane
Ow...
I thought was ......
He's now 1 step closer to becoming Tetsuo The Iron Man.
That's like...the Pokemon command center.
How does he put it on? HOW DOES HE TAKE IT OFF? Does he sleep in it? What does his wife think of him? These are the real questions.
This is what a lifetime of gaming experience can achieve!
There is casual gamers, pros, and beginners, but..
This is a new type of awesome.
@Bobb Like no one EVER was (or likely will EVER BE...)
At some point you just have to notice that something isn't quite right.
I gotta hand it to the guy: at least he's found a hobby to keep himself active at his age!
Did he evolve?
Cant even be mad. I hope I have the freetime and passion to do what I love when I'm 70.
@Deadstanley I remember one Gen V trainer was "I want a Poke ball that's as big as a basketball. I think it would be more comfortable for the Pokemon inside it."
@marck13
Presumably he has pre-ordered 12 copies.
The caption: "This isn't even his final form" got an audible laugh from me, even though I'm in class. lol
@SmaggTheSmug
Yup, lots of douchebags out there. Hopefully he doesn’t do this at night...
Imagine sitting next to this guy on the train....
And all of them are goooold!
@SmaggTheSmug I once left my work bag laptop and all in a coffee shop in Tokyo. Returned the next morning and it was right where I left it. Been there all night. That kind of crime in some parts of Asia is just so low it's almost never heard of.
He needs to be a member of the elite four (or gym leader) in the new games.
@Naoiko Seems like he should be the sole member of the elite 12.
Does anyone actually know what's going on here? Does he just love the game so much he plays simultaneously on 12 accounts? Is he doing different things on each phone?
The Doctor Octopus of Pokemon. I'd find it funny if he somehow gets reference in a game in future.
While I appreciate this guy's dedication, isn't this a violation of terms of service?
@ThomasS These days smart phone theft is relatively low and declining.
As all phones have security on them and are easily traceable, blockable etc and therefore almost impossible to sell on most thieves don't bother with them...
Of all thefts that are reported almost 50% are when a phone has been left unattended somewhere and no longer there when the owner returns. Only about 3% of thefts have some kind of "confrontation" aspect.
These stats come from the Identity Management institute. (there is government data that backs this all up but this seemed easier to digest for a comments sections )
@Octane I was kidding about cheating, although you make a good point about multiple accounts
Didn't the guy on the bike get banned or something?
Hey, who am I to judge how he has fun? It's harmless, let him have fun!
@DrJiggle 70yo
Damn, forget how much he spends on Pokémon, how much did he pay for all those phones?!!
@SmaggTheSmug
Not in Taiwan though, it's a very safe country. Taipei as well is ranked as one of the safest city in the world
wow that is just mental at least the old guy is staying active.
The little girl in the pram is looking at him like he's some kind of loony.
This is dedication!
