If you're still yet to experience the wonderful Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda for yourself - we haven't had to type all of that out for a while - then you're in luck, as a demo has now been released to let players check it out for free.
A demo for the game appeared the on Japanese eShop yesterday (we were halfway through writing an article on how you lovely lot could get your hands on it) but it's now also popped up on the European eShop. You can find it waiting for you on the eShop, or you can simply head here and start the download from your computer/tablet/phone/whatever fancy gizmo you're using to visit us.
We'd certainly suggest giving the game a go if you get the chance. Here's a snippet of our review - it's pretty safe to say we enjoyed it:
By allowing a talented indie developer to play in the universe, Nintendo has gained a fantastic entry in the franchise that feels like a celebration – specifically of its music, a part of the series destined to take a back seat as the majesty of Hyrule is increasingly conveyed through the scale of its world rather than melodies from the days when the 'kingdom' was really a walled garden. Cadence of Hyrule is not just a brilliant game, it's a brilliant Zelda game - one that you won't want to miss.
There's no sign of the demo on the North American eShop at the time of writing, but hopefully it'll appear later on today.
Will you use the demo as a chance to try it out? Already played it a gazillion times? Tell us below.

I think the word "here" is lacking the all important link...
@SuperCharlie78 Hit refresh? 🙂
@ryancraddock i hit refresh and all is good now!
Thanks. I don’t know why it doesn’t let me sign in when trying through safari on the phone
Nice will give it a try.
@Luigi-number1 yea I have been having same problem for a while. Try using google apps browser. Should let you download.
@1UP_MARIO Thank you. Downloaded
Cool I will definitely check this out.
I'm glad to hear this because although i love Zelda games. This was to much of change from the Zelda formula for me to just spend $25 to see if i liked it or not.
Will give it a go, but didn't really like Necrodancer.
Cool, this is one game in particular I really wanted to try, it needed that demo.
They really want us to buy this game... I'm pretty sure the demo will work on me because I'm weak
Will give this a go. Really interested but didn’t want to take the plunge.
Oh good! I've been interested for a while but not had the money to get it, a Demo will help me decide if I like it or not.
Nice to see a demo release. i'll give it a try later.
@Xelha Sure, but the the game is all about replaying!
Defonetly reccomend for anything zelda fan, as I've been loving this game
Great! Will try it this weekend.
I liked this game but when enemies are surrounding you it's hard to go against your instinct to go wild outside of the beat.
Ah, this is great! That "rhythm based battle" approach never appealed to me since I'd rather play games like Rhythm Paradise or Hatsune Miku but at least I can give it a try before judging now.
FINALLY! Now I can see if it's right for me or not.
The Japanese demo has full English support if your system language is set to English, so Americans with a Japanese account can just grab it there if it doesn't go up in NA soon.
Really hope this gets a North American demo release. I know I could just make another account for Japan or Europe but it's the principle. I'm sick of North America getting ignored by Nintendo. Clearly Nintendo of America is dropping the ball.
I really wish I had waited on this game.Instead of buying the original which was super cheap at the time I bought this one instead because Zelda..and I'm probably in the minority but It really isant my kind of game.
Ah well you live and learn.
I really enjoy the original NecroDancer, so I think I’ll enjoy this one too. That said, I’ll get the demo, just in case.
Wouldn't download even if the whole game was free. Haha. Looks really boring and lame to me but that's just me..
This actually makes me very happy, as I didn't enjoy Crypt of the Necrodancer, but my friends say Cadence of Hyrule is much different. I hope they're right...
That's a lot of fun! Didn't expect to like it that much, even though I'm a sucker for rhythm games like the Persona dancing spin offs. And then... Still hoping for a physical release.
@invictus4000 I'm with ya, even when everyone else is like, "Sure, let Link use Muppets for powerups, why not?" or "Motorcycle in medieval fantasy? Sure!"
Demo was fun, but I am super bad at it. I am also super bad at Crypt of the necrodancer. Maybe its not my thing, though I might still download Cadence someday since I am a Zelda fan.
