Nintendo of America's Samantha Robertson has moved into a new role. Robertson made the belated announcement herself over on her Twitter page.
There's no need to be upset though, as she's simply moved into a new role at the company. She's now the Manager of Product Marketing for the Publisher and Developer Relations Department of Nintendo of America. Here's what she had to say about it:
I can’t wait to work with Treehouse and the whole Nintendo family in new ways as we share our passion for all of the great games that developers and publishers from all over the world bring to life on our platforms.
On behalf of the community here at Nintendo Life, we wish Samantha the best of luck in her new role.

Movin on up, movin on up! I wish her the best of luck!

I always liked her commentating E3 gameplay.
Has a nice voice that works over gameplay.
Woohoo! Go promotion! I wish her luck in her new role!
She was always my favorite treehouse representative.
Noooo she was the hot one.
Wish her all the best with the new role!
Nice, I always liked her.
Good for her, at least she remains within the family. The Treehouse is so nice, I used to enjoy watching it with her and the "Exactly" girl (sorry, I don't remember your name).
I wish her all the best in her new role! She'll be sorely missed in future Treehouse presentations, but I'm glad to see her move on to brighter horizons.
I love how Nintendo and it's staff are so upfront with their fans about even the smaller things like promotions for employees. It really helps shape their positive image!
I love Nintendo but I have to be honest, I don't really enjoy Treehouse. It just feels like someone's dad trying to fit in with the kids. It seems like they are going for that YouTuber/Twitch streamer style of presentation. But it doesn't have that organic feel you get with people on those platforms usually.
I only watch their stuff when they have gameplay of games I really and thirsty to know more about.
@TossedLlama Yeah, I certainly don't hate it! They could do much worse...
But they could always do much better too.
@Wavey84 yeah she seems more PR speak now. I miss Audrey on IGN. Although...she did always derail the podcast topics, which was annoying.
Sam has always been one of the coolest E3 Presenters - Rocking her Leather Jacket etc. ..
She rules, I've always loved her enthusiasm
Aw I like Sam doing the tree house stuff
Good for Sam. We was always very pleasant and affable during the E3 presentations. I hope she gets a lot out of her new role.
Regarding the Treehouse as a whole though, I’m still a little bit in the dark about how it functions outside E3 and the occasional other presentations. Googling reveals it’s largely a localisation unit, but does that mean that most of the members work on translation and other localising tasks during their off-screen time? I’m also curious about how much wider the team is beyond the people we see on camera!
Aww. She will be missed.
The only Treehouse I watched any amount of time was for BotW, so I don't really know who this is. Good for her getting what sounds like a promotion, though.
Treehouse is just Nintendo's attempt at the streamer thing, which I also don't like. I get why Nintendo does it as it's the thing now, but it's all so fake, just like the rest of them are.
Otherwise, "Treehouse" to me still makes me think of the "Treehouse" when Nintendo/Rare were making Donkey Kong Country and they released that promo VHS for it and the host (Josh Wolf) had to use the password "Diddy" to get in to see them working on the game and they had bananas laying around everywhere....
I was skeptical of her when she first came on the scene, but almost immediately she won me over because she is clearly a genuine and passionate gamer. Here’s hoping she keeps moving up as it’s a commonly held belief that Nintendo is a “boys club” at the top.
Congrats! everyone getting promoted at Nintendo wohoo!
I really liked her. She sounded very enthusiastic and well knowledged. Glad she is doing well. Wonder who the next person will be. Best of luck Sam!
I would love to be in her position or the other guys, talking about new games and mechanics. Would be a fun side job while I hit the books in college.
How cool for her! Loved her on the E3 shows! Nice to hear she's staying with Nintendo!!!
Really love treehouse stuff. I will miss her.
i like her! You go girl!
But...the switch...is it okay?
@Maxz They also serve double duty as in-house testers. Which goes with localization anyway.
I think Audrey comes across as incredibly insecure. This results in her just being rather painful to watch.
Samantha was great and seemed to have great confidence in who she is. Promotion was well deserved.
