Once again, we've made it all the way to the end of a busy week. We've had all the leaked images and info for Mario Kart Tour and a controversial Pokémon competition to keep an eye on over the last few days, but now it's time to sit down and chat about the games we'll be playing over the weekend. Several Team Nintendo Life members have done just that below, and we'd love for you to join in via the poll and comment sections below. Enjoy!

This weekend is Memorial Weekend in the States, so my family will be spending it together at our lake home, where my brothers and I will likely be pulling out the old Sega Genesis and Wii that we have stashed there. Some good old Sonic, Ristar, and Wii Sports are in order - all played on a classic 1990s-era television set. Ah, the memories.

This weekend I shall be mostly trying to play the games I didn’t get round to last weekend. Although I did manage to unlock the Game Boy skin in Tetris 99 and play a little Overcooked 2, both Windjammers and Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle fell by the wayside when the codes for three Resident Evil's arrived in my inbox Friday evening. So I'll be catching up on last weekend's plans. I've got a little money sitting in my eShop balance, too, so I might peruse the sale one last time to see if anything jumps out at me. My backlog's so big, one or two more won't hurt.

Further adventures await me in Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen along with some Spanish 101 lessons from Resident Evil 4. Sure, I will enter this weekend’s ARMS Party Crash Bash but its a mere formality: Ninjara already won this one and will move onto the final round, 100% guaranteed. Wonder Boy Returns Remix is a delicious hardcore throwback to my Famicom days and the perfect lazy weekend game. None of these games are Turrican 4, but...
Gunlord X (my game of the week) is, in everything but name. It took me all these years to finally be able to play NG:DEV.Team's glorious Euro run’n’gun masterpiece and it immediately brought me back to far simpler times of my Commodore Amiga years. Don’t even get me started on that glorious soundtrack!

I used to make fun of the fastest hedgehog alive requiring a car to go fast, yet somehow I’ve grown increasingly fond of the blue blur’s modern racing outings over the years.
How I feel about Team Sonic Racing is no different. If anything, I think I’ve enjoyed it more than the 2012 release, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. Despite the overall quality of the game, I feel as if Sega and Sumo Digital’s racing line is honestly better off without the existing “all-star” cast featuring a number of characters who don't appear to be making a comeback in the near future.
Moving on to my gaming plans for this weekend, if you hadn’t already guessed, most of my time will be spent mastering each track in Team Sonic Racing - overlooking the technical issues, online hiccups and even the opening cinematic missing from the Switch version of the game. As you can probably tell by now I have a bit of a soft spot for Sonic’s new racing game, meaning nothing is going to stop me from playing it as much as possible!

Slowly working my way through Umihara Kawase Fresh! and playing a bit of Enter the Gungeon. Spent the last week trying to get into Final Fantasy XII but after ten hours it still hasn’t clicked for me so gonna give up on it for now and choose something new to play from my large backlog.
I'm currently playing My time at Portia. As laggy as it can be, I am truly enjoying this game. It's a nice time waster while waiting for animal crossing. I just started it a few days ago, and I'm on my second season.
Luigi’s Mansion.
Ugh, Switch had some slow months now. Looking forward to FE.
Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed on the 3DS. I'm waiting for reviews before I decide on either Team Sonic Racing or Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled.
I’m going on an epic adventure called “Tip Run” followed by gardening, some DIY and food shopping. Such is the life of a Dad.
Fortunately, we are having a big family BBQ and my brothers and their kids are just as game crazy as mine, so that’s when the gaming will begin!
I’m gonna try convince them to play Arms, but it will probably be Smash Bros and Mario Kart.
1. Castlevania Collection on Switch
2. Assassins Creed Odyssey on Xbox One
Hellblade, Shalnor, Dead Cells, and Stardew for me. Maybe a few rounds of MK11 or let the AI do it thing on towers while I catch up on Supernatural, thank you Netflix!
Hopefully I will finish Spyro 2 on PS4 then maybe try Yoshi's Crafted World.
The wife has finally allowed me to buy a Switch at the end of the year.
As a result I am churning through my 3ds back catalogue. After completing Dragon Quest 7 last week I am splitting my time between Mario and Luigi Dream Team and Fire Emblem Warriors - two very different games!
I’m playing through Fire Emblem Fates Birthright in anticipation of Three Houses.
About 8 chapters left so I might finish it this (long) weekend.
Then I’ve got a backlog of lengthy jrpgs but Persona Q2 is out in 9 days so I don’t want to get into one of those. I picked up SteamWorld Heist in the recent sale so that might fit nicely.
The new free Persona Q2 3DS theme is really good too, makes up for the fairly rubbish Q1 theme I spent money on!
I've been playing Mario Bros U Deluxe (traded the extremely twitchy VRally). So far I've enjoyed it! Other than that, Tetris99 and something random from my collection.
@spirit_flame If you want a racer I suggest Gear.Club Unlimited 2. With the newest update it’s not bad by any means. Reminds me a lot of Sega Gt back on Xbox
This week I will be mostly playing:
Smash Ultimate
Breath of the Wild
Wonder Boy (the original)
PAC-Attack
And introducing my 4-year old daughter to demos of Nintendogs+Cats and Cooking Mama 4.
It’s off to the races! I picked up Fast RMX (adding to my long list of fun games with dumb names) and Horizon Chase Turbo on sale this week so I’ll be pursuing trophies all over the damn place.
It’s true what they say about A Vroom of One’s Own...
Happy weekend!
I don't know if I can manage everything, but here is my wishlist.
Get a little Endgame for Octopath Traveler going, play more FAST RMX, finish Katana Zero and maybe go for the secret boss and / or the secret items. Power Moon hunting in Super Mario Odyssey.
I’m going to complete Resident Evil 4 and then just see what else is in the backlog. Couple of days ago got a code that lets me check out the Nioh 2 Alpha. Might check that out as well.

My Switch dashboard except multiply by 5
Dead Cells and A Robot Named Fight for sure because of the new content released this week. Maybe some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe too.
I'll be continuing to play endless amounts of Team Sonic Racing, and some Va-11 Hall-a in the evenings.
Once I download it, I'll be playing through Monster Boy.
I downloaded Back in 1995 last night, so hope to play through that over the weekend.
I’m also playing Path of Exile on PS4 when I need a break from the faux PS1 graphics.
@Dm9982 Thanks, I'll look at it. I'm hoping it does not handle like a train.
@KoopaTheGamer ooh, I’d updated Dead Cells but I didn’t know A Robot Named Fight has been updated too. Such great value!
Trying to finish up the original Dragon Quest (well, Dragon Warrior). What a grindfest.
@JoeDiddley Yeah, both were huge games to begin with, and now they're even bigger!
Civ VI for the most part, along with some multiplayer ARMS, Horizon Chase Turbo and Smash Ultimate with my youngun.
If I get out of the house at all today I may try to find a new game.
I got the best (non-item completion based) ending in Metroid Fusion. It's been a long time since I last played that game, so I was interested in seeing what I thought of the game in a post-Other M world.
I was surprised to find that the game's linearity is more akin to a more intrusive version of what Prime had than the total hand-holding I assumed the game would deliver in that the game'll brief you on your ultimate goal within each sector, but usually won't tell you how to fullfil the steps to get there. Sure, you're confined to your current sector for most of the game, but you've at least got a sense of freedom within it.
Plus I get the feeling that the devs realized that the game needed an extra hook or two in order to make the game feel like more than a smaller-scale Super Metroid, and they certainly succeded thanks to the surprisingly tense and actively oppressive atmosphere.
You really do feel like you're being hunted, outmatched and outgunned while scurrying for equipment to even the odds as opposed to your average Metroid title where you're an adventurer uncovering the secrets of an abandoned world filled with strange creatures and secrets.
It sort of feels like the kind of style that Metroid II tried to go for but failed to deliver because of the hardware restraints put on it.
Actually, the more I think about it, the more Fusion feels more like a successor to Metroid II than Super Metroid with its scaled-down exploration, a focus on intense combat and a suffocatingly hostile atmosphere.
I also decided to do this particular playthrough on my actual GBA SP (the first console I ever owned), and I'm happy to say the little thing is still going strong even after all these years.
Trying to nab the last few S-ranks on Ace Combat 7, along woith a bit of Gunlord X and Disney Afternoon Collection on the side (why is this not on Switch?!?!). May also play a bit more Octopath Traveller if time allows.
Games:
Animal Crossing for Nintendo Gamecube (NGC)
Animal Crossing New Leaf (3DS)
Fallout 4 (PC)
Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne (PS2)
Timesplitters: Future Perfect (PS2)
Xenoblade X (Wii U)
Television:
The Promised Neverland (Toonami)
finally bought new super mario deluxe. multiplayer with the kids!
I actually finished a game of Civilization 6, so it’s time to bump up the difficulty and start another one.
@nofriendo What a mix! I am also playing Horizon Chase and I am loving it. I also really liked Fast RMX. Playing them in the same weekend must be fun. While they are both racing, they are quite different. Enjoy your gaming!
Hmm.... 🤔
This weekend is kinda complicated since i got two PS2 games from Ebay last Sunday, so...
1. Bomberman Land 3 (PS2)
Finally, i can replay that beloved PS2 game again after 6 years later. 😀
I have ever played before on my modded PS2 fat pirated copies long time ago before i removed them all on December 2014. After six years no play that game, i felt it looked like a new game for me. 😃
Recently, i have collected 63 pieces of card pass from 10 hours plus gameplay. The concept of gameplay was quite interesting. I could swarming around inside Bomberman Land, the Disneyland of Bomberman. There were a lot of Attraction houses that basically Mini games compilation but some of them are really hard and almost unplayable without hardcore skill. 😒
There was also a Racing mini game but the control and Drifting system on that game was really rubbish. I couldn't even drifting perfectly like on Mario Kart.
Anyway, overall the gameplay was still solid despite of poor quality of the mini games.
And the next games i will play probably :
2. Bomberman Battles (PS2)
3. Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster (Switch)
Streetpass Quest!
Steamworld Quest is great, I am 12 or so hours into it and I am enjoying it. It is a relatively simple RPG, but I like the card dynamics.
Also: Rocket League, Horizon Chase and Unraveled 2 with my kid.
Happy gaming, everyone!
I'm going to shed some more tears playing the Shadow of the Colossus remaster and I'm also still trying to beat Darkest Dungeon.
This evening I will be jumping between:
Travis Strikes Again
Akane
Overwhelm
Katana Zero
Neo Geo Mini games (mainly the Metal Slugs and Shock Troopers)
I'll probably also pickup Gunlord X
@Desa
Did you play the Switch version of My Time at Portia?
Does the game still working fine after got an update?
I’m very slowly picking away at Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. I’ve had to restart several missions after losing characters and it’s making it a slow-go. Other than that, Minecraft finally sunk its hooks in me and I finally get why people are still actively playing it after ten years.
Streets of rage
Mega drive.
I recently bought yakuza 3 for the ps3 so I’m playing that. It has been really fun so far.
Also a bit of disgaea 4: a promise revisited on my psvita.
"Petit Computer 4 - SmileBasic - Switch" was released in Japan on the 23rd.
I've already written SpikeDislike for it, ( 424JQK3NJ ) and I've been building up a template that I can reuse to make oodles more stuff!!
Yeay! Coding!
Rage 2 on PS4. Played it for hours without going near the first mission marker. So much to find and do in the open world. Got Trials Rising cheap on Switch. Looks awful but still fun.
Jurassic World Evolution 👌
Just finished Steins gate last night. Honestly the best story in any medium I have ever experienced. And so emotionally draining.
So I'm probably just gonna spend the whole weekend getting over that somehow
@spirit_flame nah it’s more arcady in handling, and gets better with upgrades. Think Tokyo Extreme Racer, Sega Gt, Project Gotham, or Gran Turismo
Also has a 30 second rewind button Incase you massively mess up.
Enter the Gungeon.
I'm almost done with the Ammonomicon!
I have to beat the Advanced Dragun and find that pesky weapon, the Quad Laser, nowhere to be seen in 205 hours of game time.
This is my favorite eShop game and forever will be, can't wait to see what the dev team is up next.
I'm playing AC III on switch. It was the first game that I ever played and it's incredible to take it on the go. The only real issue with it is the audio. It's not the best game but It's still a game that doesn't deserve all the hate it's getting. I would probably give it a 7 on switch because of the audio issues, on other platforms it would be a 7.5.
Funny how I saw Ristar mentioned, since I just got Sega Mega Drive Classics and been playing that!
I loved Castlevania Collection and it got me in the mood for some quality retro gaming! And I've been thinking Windjammers as well!
Doom wads/mods, and Final Fantasy VI brave new world!
I’ll be playing Realm Royale, Castlevania collection, & Splatoon 2
Gunlord X all the way. Completed it three times now and it's still fun to play it again and again.
@Dm9982 Thanks, you have convinced me to investigate it. I suppose there is time at hand until Grid shows up.
Paper Mario Color Splash, Mario Tennis Aces, Overcooked 2, and a little bit of Animal Crossing New Leaf (gotta do my dailies and get some turnips). Maybe some Kirby - Planet Robobot or Star Allies - Hyrule Warriors and/or Minecraft, too.
A little bit of RPG Maker on 3DS and some FFX-2 on Switch. Mostly will be doing house and garden stuff
Team Sonic Racing and Yooka Laylee if I get the chance. Oh, and some Horizon Chase Turbo also....
I'll play some Radirgy in my Dreamcast to warm Up for Radirgy Swag which comes out on the JP eShop next month.
Microsoft Flight (Games For Windows Live) - Watching a Let's Play
Mirror's Edge (Windows Phone) - Decent runner
South Park: The Fractured But Whole (Switch) - Still having a blast farting on all the local citizens.
I finally bought Katamari Damacy Reroll. That was on my to do list and finally got it. Then there’s Smash Ultimate and some Neo Geo games I wanna play on Switch.
@dugan I am really enjoying SteamWorld Quest, probably my favorite SteamWorld game.
This weekend I'm remodeling our bedroom, but during my down time, I'll be spending my nights as a bartender in VA-11 HALL-A. It's an interesting slice of life game.
Tropical Freeze
Playing resident evil after quitting my play through of re0. Didn't like it so I'll probabaly sell it back to gamestop. Then some kid Dracula
AC III, and Sniper Elite V2
Depends on whether or not I can stay awake after work.
If I can then I’ll play The Sims 4, make more progress on The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age, play a bit of Mario Kart 7, and play some Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
I started the morning with some Saints, and when I go shopping with a friend later I may pick up ACIII. Maybe.
Rage2
Assassins creed Odyssey: Atlantis DLC
RedOut (on the go)
@WomboCombo more items, a new area and a less obvious starting exploration pattern.
Sounds big!
I'll be sipping into my free copy of Mana Spark this weekend - thanks Nuntendo Life and Qubic! Asked from that, I'll continue plugging away at Final Fantasy X qnd probably see if I can endure any more of Team Sonic Racing's abysmal online to get a few races in.
I just finished unlocking every plane and weapon in Ace Combat 7 (way too much of a grind for my tastes). I've also finished Ace Combat 5 on PS4 too so next up is the Resident Evil series. I'm going in story order, so Zero and then REmake on Switch, 2 Remake on PS4, 4 on Switch and then Revelations on Switch, and then I think I might get 5 on PS4 also despite the negative stuff I've heard (also gonna play its DLC). Then Revelations 2 on Switch and probably back to PS4 for RE6. I know people hate that game, but I'm actually pretty interested to try it. I played the demo once, and it seemed like a pretty fun action game despite leaving the series roots behind. I might try 7 after that too. I probably need to fit Code Veronica X in there somewhere also.
A very busy week that was somewhat devoid of gaming (I'm going through a life change; getting things set up for a new job) has given way to a long weekend. I got a lot of the adulting out of the way last night with Pay Bills and Check Emails On Computer and Mow Wet Lawn (We've had a lot of rain here). The rest of my weekend is mostly free minus a volunteer event I'm participating in all of this evening.
I'll be playing some more Pokemon Ultra Sun on the 3DS and intend to finish Donkey Kong Country on the SNES Classic. Then I'll jump back into Mega Man X and will try my hand at Star Fox 2.
I may get out at some point and also get some steps in while playing Pokémon Go, but that'll depend on what the weather decides to do.
It's all about VR for me this weekend, so I'll be playing some Beat Saber, Vader Immortal, Drop Dead and Space Pirate Trainer on the Oculus Quest.
The kids get to play with the Labo VR Blaster.
Glad to see some other folks are playing Sonic this weekend, too! That one I’m playing in the collection, but I also dusted off (literally) my Genesis and fired up the copy of Dynamite Headdy my uncle bought me at a Blockbuster (I feel like I owe it to him to beat the actual cartridge without the assistance of spot saving etc. before playing it on the Switch Collection; I never did as a kid). Forgot how incredible this game is. Last but most certainly not least, I am continuing Golf Story — which is so, so, so good.
Final fantasy XII and Sonic Team Racing. I'm surprised by the fairly negative reaction to Sonic Racing by commenters. I love Mario Kart, sunk hundreds of hours into it but I wouldn't even try to compare the two. STR is solid so far, Im loving the challenges and time trials and it feels much more like an out and out racer than a 'kart' game per se....I respect that it's trying to set itself apart and do something unique and Im sure I'm gonna get my money's worth out of it.
Playing campaign Call of Duty 2 and 3 this weekend. World at War, Black Ops, and Modern Warfare remastered if I get the chance as well.
Definitely going to play Team Sonic Racing on Switch this weekend, also, I have the sudden urge to play Tokyo Mirage Sessions on Wii U. I still need to complete the game, so I'm going to try to progress further in it.
I'm on my 70th hour of octopath traveller and no signs of stopping. One of the few switch games that was worth the price.
Might get in a little Resident Evil 4 (the best version, on the Wii), along with more Tetris 99. Just started God of War (on PS4) so I'll try and get through that. This weekend is probably the first weekend I haven't had any homework in months, so I'm definitely going to be busy with my games all weekend.
Yesterday i finished Senua Hellblade Sacrifice. Now i can move on to Toad Captain Treasure and Celeste.
@sweth_t
Tried GoW myself this weekend. But oh. It felt so overwhelming.
Probably SSBU and Mega Man Battle Network 2 mainly.
@Skalgrim What made it so overwhelming? Personally, I thought it was just right in the way it introduces new things to you, but that's just me.
I booted up Snake Pass last night after it sat in my backlog almost since it’s release... The mechanics are interesting to say the least so hopefully I can get through it this weekend. Other than that I don’t anticipate a bunch of gaming since my wife is off this weekend and we’re packing it full of fun things- water park, the taste of Cincy, bbq and fun with the family. Enjoy your weekend everyone!
My weekend will consist of working my photo booth business, working on my Etsy businesses, gardening, aquarium maintenance, crafting, wallowing in loneliness and despair, catching up on sleep, and maybe a little Pokémon Alpha Sapphire thrown in.
Happy Weekend, all!
Final fantasy x
New SAO game for me
Anything on the Switch that I could play with the family and Blue Dragon on the Xbox One.
Started ESO on the Xbox One for the first time the other day and I will say it scratches that MMO itch nicely. Other then that I might squeeze in some Borderlands on the PS4.
AC3 Remastered
I’ve just completed cup head and 100% Mario odyssey (the second time). Playing some MK11, want another game to play with it, thinking yoshi but might try and hold out to Mario maker 2 🤔
Hopefully I get some Wolfenstein II in tomorrow but otherwise probably nothing weekend!
Kingdom new lands, wizard of legend, and paladins.
Cuphead ...such a great game. Stuck trying to beat the Ghost Train on Isle 3. It’s a total nightmare yet still enjoyable. What’s wrong with me?
I'll be playing Team Sonic Racing. I just finished chapter 4 in the Team Adventure mode. Once I get confident enough I'll jump into online multiplayer. Maybe I'll play some more Xenoblade Chronicles (1, X, or 2) as well. I need to finish Cuphead too!
Xbox has a backwards compatability sales on at the moment, which although is clearly geared toward Xb1 owners is also live on the 360. So I've dug that out and am playing Red Dead, with a side of other games that I have't played that were around the £2-£3 mark.
@Giygas_95 RE5 isn’t bad by any means. RE6 however, ugh. RE5 is fun, but after RE4 it def falls short because of story, and meh AI on the partner. However, that said, it’s basically like “Let’s give Leon coke and steroids and see what happens”. Learn to stagger every enemy and melee em. Your melee attack is crazy strong and allows you to conserve ammo until you can upgrade and slaughter things. Overall weak story, with better handling/combat than RE4.
Edit - Meant to add, def add RE7 to your list if you don’t already have it. It’s REALLY good. Just under RE4 in my mind.
Gunlord X
Dead Cells
Team Sonic Racing
Mega Man 2
@spirit_flame np. I struggled for a couple weeks trying to determine what the best “realistic” style racer was on Switch. And after seeing a bunch of people say GCU2 wasn’t as bad as the reviews make it out to be, I decided to give it a try when it was on sale. I mean it’s def not a be all end all racer. I have played better, but it’s arguably the best sim the Switch has to offer right now. Get it Physical since it’s only like $30 that way (60 in eshop).
Super Mario Odyssey, Picross S, and who knows what else.
Captain Toad on switch and Bowser’s Inside Story on 3DS
Team Sonic Racing on XB1 and Switch.
Playing Bloodborne, hoping to defeat Gerhman. I'm also going to start Sonic Team Racing and a Plague tale: Innocence. As it's a bank holiday I'll also play some Smash and some Pokemon.
@Grumblevolcano You bought both versions? I am considering getting the game, but if I do it will be on Xbox or PS4. Though probably Xbox as I have the X. Though I have been splurging a lot of money so may have to wait.
@Dm9982 Thanks for the advice! Is Code Veronica good? I'm thinking I should get that one on PS4 as well.
Also out of all of them, I'm probably most excited for 2 remake and 4. Zero is pretty good so far!
@FragRed Yeah Switch version for handheld, XB1 version for adding more variety to.my XB1 library.
@Giygas_95 I’ve never played through CV sadly, but I’ve heard good things from my RE fan friends. And haven’t gotten REMake 2 yet either, but I’ve heard that was REALLY good. My fave two so far have been RE4 and RE7. Good stories, good gameplay. RE7 is far more intense - especially on Madhouse, my heart has never beat so hard and fast on a game....
@Dm9982 Well, I plan to play the whole series, or at least most of them (not gonna bother with operation racoon city). I look forward to the rest, especially 2 remake and 4!
@Giygas_95 I also forgot RE Rev 1&2, while I haven’t finished em yet they’re good as well.
Not sure about which games in the series have it, but RE7 has binaural audio, so if you’ve got a good set of headphones that’s the best route for the audio. Def amplifies the intensity when you can tell exactly where something is at by audio alone.
And lastly, not RE, but RE-like - Onimusha and Hellblade:Senua are great as well. Basically Samurai RE and Viking RE.
Shakedown: Hawaii
Playing a bit of Sky Rogue this weekend - I'm loving it! I'm particularly smitten with the medium interceptor, which looks like a Su-47 Berkut and flies like a dream.
It's even got Arwing style paint schemes if that's your pleasure!
Legrand Legacy and Nuclear Throne
Cchh. Super Smash Bros w/ the shield slow-down event from 5/23-5/26. Obviously!
Bad North is amazing. I waited for a sale, but shouldn't have in this case! Switch 'n Shoot is great too. Kingdom Two Crowns, Samurai Aces, Find the Balance, Hungry Baby, Gunlord X, and Captain Toad Treasure Tracker round out the games I'm playing.
Bravely Default. (Recently picked up a 3DS.)
I bought some games thanks to digital sales. I've already finished velocity2x, great game, and heartworms, which is good but nothing compared to the likes of grim fandango. Now i am currently playing violett, which is sometimes hard but beautiful and inspired. It's something like alice in wonderland.
Last Day Of June ( It's sad AF. It's a beautiful game, but damn I almost wish I didn't bought it lol )
Diablo III ( New season )
The Witcher 3.
Still on leave therefore not much gaming time but I managed to finish night in the woods (and I really don't get all the himype and praise about it as I found it dull and boring) and now getting through steamworld heist (this is so much better than dig 2!. It is kind of grindy but the gameplay is awesome. Having a blast with it so far)
Sonic team racing, and some cuphead, beat em up bundle, and at last some castlevania collection
@Dm9982 Thanks. Yeah the reviews for that series has been concerning. Yet strangely I've never seen that game trading second hand. I will investigate it. I'm an ex Gran Turismo (not the current cloud based version), fan. I do miss having a quality racer thats closer to reality. I've got Spintyres - which is hands down, the most realistic off road sim I've ever played. So it is POSSIBLE for the Switch to have semi realistic vehicle sims.
@spirit_flame Yeah same here. I’m
Picky with my racers. I want like an rpg experience, start from scratch with a junker, win money upgrade, and buy a better car - repeat till end. GCU/GCU2 fills this itch nicely. Check the comments on NL, Gfaqs, or other sites for a better picture on the game if you’re still iffy. Reviews bashed it for its mobile roots and meh fps/graphics. Patch fixed fps/graphics, and the “mobile” aspect is the garage, but I like the way they did it over some of the other racers I’ve played - which are just upgrade menus instead of a visual garage.
My only gripe so far is the rewind ability. But that’s optional. Does feel cheatish to use it, but sometimes stuff just goes south - like my daughter jumping on me mid race, 😆. So handy to have so you don’t have to redo an entire race because you crashed at the very end.
Edit - Actually this should be a feature on single player Mario Kart for when you catch a blue shell right before finish line. 😆😆
Edit 2 - Oh almost forgot, one tip I wish I knew from the start on GCU2, the e brake is by far the best brake for tight corners. Like with GT/Forza games you’ll have to break into corners (otherwise you will be a train), and if the corner is sharper than a curve follow with a couple taps / slight holds of the e brake, you’ll corner smoothly. If you’re a mildly experienced racer (like me) or better, then the start of the game will be cake once you get the hang of this.
I would be playing the Spirit board event, but with my left Joy-Con suffering a major drifting issue and missing 2 days worth of the event due to work and stuff my parents were doing and them asking if I could go with them for a few minutes/hours (like lunch, dinner, ice cream and such) with the exception of feeding our dogs twice a day, it's extremely hard to try and find ALL of the event Spirits let alone having my characters do a down special randomly on it's own. (because of my left Joy-Con issue as explained above) Nintendo, hope you're watching the gameplay of Smash Ultimate via the internet feed or whatever, and slashing your Joy-Con pricing to $40 instead of $60, I'm not paying 60 for just a replacement, that's ridiculous.
I recently got an EverDrive GBA X5 for my AGS-101 modded Game Boy Advance, so this weekend I finished Metroid: Zero Mission and I'm now playing through Sonic Advance 2 for the first time. =)
Finally playing through Super Mario RPG on the SNES again after never beating it the first time. Also playing Robonauts, as I got it for free, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which I'll finally get to play after getting it for sale Black Friday last year, and finally getting back into Super Mario Sunshine after my memory card got corrupted a few months back. Summer just started for me, so I got plenty of freetime.
Also, WII Sports? Does anyone still play that?
Resident Evil 2, the PS1 version. Having a play through of the series as I just realised I only ever completed RE2 and none of the others.
Sniper elite v2 switch it’s awesome
@Dm9982 You're just like me! Buy junkers and then soup them up. I used to get deep with gear ratios and stuff. Deff will look at GC. Thanks for the info, appreciate it.
@MattFox that has been on my wish list for so long, but what you said is why i haven't bought it. Do i really want to play a sad game? I don't know, maybe?
@Rogueleader76 That is a bold statement, friend! I really liked Dig 1, Dig 2 and Heist, especially Dig 2. But I see what you mean, Quest is hard to put down. I think I am half way through and it is exceeding my expectations (and I expected a lot)
@dugan I really like Dig World 1 & 2 and Heist as well. While SteamWorld Quest is my favorite, they all rank right up there for me.
@dugan Yeh, I know what you mean. It`s supposed to be a short game, but It`ll take me at least a week or two to play it. I can`t take all that sadness at once. So far is a beautiful game, but you have to be in the mood to play it, because it`s sad and heartwarming at the same time...
I'll be mostly playing Yooka-Laylee (Switch version) since I just bought it yesterday. It's quite good (imo), despite a few minor issues with the camera.
Played and enjoyed on Switch Mortal Kombat 11. Unlocked towers. Very happy.
Just finished Kid Dracula on the Konami Castevania Collection. Very bold look and great fun to play.
A lot of the weekend has been spent in the continuous tasting of new (or old but previously shelved titles). Switch's recent harvest from the atmospheric Darkwood and Heroine Anthem Zero to the subtler but rather addictive roguelike action of Mana Spark and the rich platforming of Shovel Knight, Steam's Kingdom Classic that I discovered while on the verge of grabbing New Lands on Switch and decided to play first... the unexpected struggle with Forward to the Sky (whose adorable cartoony graphics and seemingly GPDW tolerant specs somehow create a lot of lag even on lowest settings and windowed) and the remaining bafflement that is Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt (the game run fine when I played it last year, so its framerate seemingly getting lower by the launch now feels like an X-Files caliber mystery - even BEFORE I mention that it's a title below 100 Mb with ZX Spectrum styled graphics)... and the upside on GPD front where I have finally picked the fitting wrappers to run Divine Divinity and Gothic without screen orientation hijinks. Divine Divinity's status screen commentary alone was worth it all.😆
While others here dig into Sonic racing (I've recently played a couple separate races in Transformed on Vita myself but haven't gone into the big modes yet), GPD is still my current racing fix as well - if things play out, I might actually be done with Championship mode and thus with everything I wanted from NFS Hot Pursuit 2 in a week or so. Might finish Flatout this summer as well - but now I'm really wading into the jinx minefield here. I also have a bunch of recent Vita library additions to try (or even to find storage space for - but Danganronpa can wait until I'm up to date with Ace Attorney and Nonary Games anyway), but as for the remainder of Sunday, I'm feeling more likely to spend it somewhere on Bionis or in Ivalice (or in Westwal- no, not Westwald, it's weekday phase and I'm even worse at juggling economics when it's close to or past midnight 😏 ).
Been trying to get into Hellgate but it’s not clicking with me for some reason so I’m now downloading RE4. Bit grumpy about the price but it’s an amazing game that I never finished.
I played Mario & Rabbids Super Smash Bros Ultimate God Eater 3 on the laptop Mega Man 11 Team Sonic Racing
I'll be focused on finishing Travis Strikes Again. I also dabbled a little in Diablo III. If I'm lucky, back to Ys VIII.
